Reason for ban (If you have a Permaban, it should be the EXACT MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN YOU LOGIN with the Error code that looks like this: X##XXX##. If you do not provide this EXACTLY you can't be unbanned): Threatening to DDOs the server. This isnt really a threat, becase we rent a VPS from a data-center, and have a FAIR amount of bandwidth, and DDOS protection through the company.

I just just tried to login to SS13 at my university and received that ban message. I have logged in and played here from time to time so it appears the ban is quite recent. I checked the nature of the ban by connecting to my phone data via hotspot instead of the universities wifi and found it was the same type of sticky ban as the previous instance. EDIT: please do not view me trying to login through my phone as an attempt at ban evading, I was checking the nature of the ban to see if I would be able to login at home without having to drive home to check this (to see if I needed to make an appeal or simply message someone about looking into unblocking the IP).

It would appear someone at my university has tried to use wineskin here and got the whole campus banned.

I understand this will take time to check but may I please be unbanned/white listed from this IP. As this is the campus IP may I request the IP be removed from the ban list. I have been trying to encourage many of my peers to try this incredible game (none of whom are responsible for this as I warned them about whineskin) and being permanently banned the moment they try and play here will probably deter them from bothering to appeal.

This one is probably going to take a while for us to get all the details for, so you're going to need to hold on for a bit. Did you have a VPN up (even if just on accident) when you tried to log in at all? Also, if anyone else on the campus tried to log in with a VPN this also could have caused it.

That note I believe was one of my first games and I didn't thoroughly read the rules. Ignorance is not an excuse, so Iv been pretty on top of things since then.

I don't use a VPN and while potentially someone at the university did, it would be a little unusual. The university pretty much only blocks porn or pirate sites (I also thought a VPN has a different ban message).

I understand this will take some time due to the nature of the request.

Ya. Your notes are pretty good. IP cases just take more time to look into. As for why the VPN may cause a problem, if you use a VPN that gives you an IP linked to another ban, it's going to tie the ban to that IP/Account, which is one reason you may be seeing a ban placed on an IP from a while ago.

huh, weird.

I genuinely have no idea who Level5God is, hadn't even heard the name until you mentioned it.

At most, I can only think of my account being attached to 4 different IPs. My Home Address, The University, AliStalinski's Home Address and my Phone's unique IP (I think). Haven't logged in anywhere else.

My best guess is that the association to my IP is either through the university, or through my phone/cell tower, although I only ever logged into my Hotspot once so I doubt there is an association there (although I guess if he had the same cell provider...maybe?), I have to assume this is through the university. Either someone at the university used the same VPN that Level5God did and it stuck to the University IP OR Level5God used the EduRoam wifi, which is a shared service through ever university and some services (eg hospitals). I mean theoretically he could be from my university, but the ban seems to be very recent so I doubt it.

Im certainly not Level5God, I would think my forum activity, use of ahelps and lack of notes would stand as testament to that. I pretty actively try avoid being a shitter, been pretty cautious with all that. Im hoping this is at least evidence enough to suggest my account Nezara is not, at least intentionally, associated with Level5God. Im just trying to enjoy the game ..... yet I keep getting hit with accidental perma bans....>_>

Is it possible that my account be unbanned but keep the IP ban at the university pending further investigation?

That might actually do it. I initially thought it was related to my first perma ban (eg someone used wineskin at my university) but Emeraldblood seemed to think it was VPN related so I was trying to think along the lines on how that was possible....

But if it is related to my first perma ban (which I did mention in my appeal), naturally my home address, Alistalinkis address and now the university will all come under the wineskin ban associated with Level5God....

I hope thats clears things up.

I guess I can add an exception for just your Ckey, which will prevent any shenanigans outside that specific ckey.

Looks like I'm...unbanned?....weird. I guess you didn't have to do anything?

I'll play around with this abit later on today to see if I can figure out what happened but I'm pretty sure I was banned.
