Xenos should get more larva/smallhosts though. Nothing funner than being one of the first guys to get annihilated and then get your revenge as xeno. Honestly I wish wounds and death were more punishing for marines too. The current dynamic of the game just feels so wonky compared to how its portrayed in all other media related to Alien and Predator.

Carriers are situational and fragile as glass and not suited for diving in and infecting. Queen can combat hug but this only results in captures if the marine squad they attack is small (not often, marines deathball like crazy) otherwise the queen or other dragging alien will be focused down and killed. It's a chore to drag captured marines back to the hive and devouring them takes forever. Much easier to just slash until they stop moving.
