Looting dead marines

Post by juliansl » 17 Dec 2017, 06:23

Where do you draw the line on looting dead marines?

Personally I'll take everything but their uniform, unless it has webbing, and id cards (for obvious reasons).

Revivable ? Not lootable (maybe the ammo if I'm desperate, but not armor nor weapons). I usually only take the M276 ammo rig, if there is no ammo rig, I don't even loot.

Brainded/not revivable (decapped or such) : looting everything I want.

I strictly don't take weapons from revivable dudes, and if I do it's just to hand back to them once they're up. Besides that, I loot ammo rigs and USCM bags if they got em.

If they could be revived, just leave them be. Maybe even give them stuffs and my backup gun.

If not then strip off everything except ID card and uniform.

Personally I loot even revivable marines. Especially their guns. They can't use it at the current moment anyways.

The most i'd loot from revivable would be their ammo, otherwise I leave their guns alone. Dead-dead lads are free game.

Dont like looting others, because I had alot times when I lost my gun in stun and marine ... see my good gun with QF just stealing gun or attachments when medic reviving me.

If I ever see your ass straped with a full of attatchments rifle on you, you best bet I'm looting that shit for parts. I'll still return you the now clear gun, but if you can't use it, it's better off in my hands.

I just do what I need to do. I only loot when it comes to supplies, and even then, I'll just drag the body back.

I can barely care really, I just can't. If a guy is brain dead, I'll strip his gun and other equipment,if he's revivable , I'll just take his ammo.

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

If the marine can be defibrillated, I'd rather not loot him.

But if it's an emergency situation, I'd take his ammo.

Depends on the situation.

-If the person is dead but relivable, I don't loot them unless I'm in a tight spot {example: Me and my squad are surrounded by xenos. I'm down on my last mag, so in order to refill my ammo, I take his ammo belt.}

-If Super dead. Has one man said: 'Take everything that isn't nailed down, then take the nails, and then take those that were nailed down'.

I dont touch the revivable, unless we are in extreme danger, in that case I only take ammo, I dont take weapons because most of the time thats what they died for.

If he’s revivable I leave his stuff. Unless I’m completely out of ammo on both sidearm and main weapon, then I’ll take 1-2 mags and leave the rest.
If he’s gone gone, I’ll take whatever I want. Usually that’s ammo and maybe attachments, with the occasional weapon if I’m completely out.
If he’s a good marine, RPed and all that, when I bodybag him in medbay I’ll pick up his ID and put it on the bag.

There's a old sayin in my book as Crunk, "If the marine can't say stop looting me you shit." Its a freebie, that is if both their legs cut off and unconscious your merely helping the poor bastard and taking their heavy load off the wounded sorta like charity work in a sense.
"Young Carrier (920) (follow) hisses, "Shut up both of you or we aren't going to invade disneyland."

Long time ago, I, Ka'Torag-na Halkrath, Skilled Master Hunter Of Prey, Unleashed an unspeakable evil upon Xenos and Humans! But a foolish Xeno Hunter wielder of robustness stepped forth and opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore a gate of Salt of Solitude and flung em into the world of CM, and took out their Facehugger Capabilities! Now, this Xeno Fool seeks to return the favour, and undo my evil reign and of many other predator predecessors!

Dead? Free game though I only take stuff if I need it. Not dead? No looting unless survival of both of you depends on it.

I loot the dead depending on my situation.

Down to my last magazine and need more ammo? I'll rummage through the piles of the dead to find the ammo type that matches my gun.

Lost my primary weapon and can't find one on the ground that matches my ammo type? I'll probably just take a gun from the dead, they won't be needing it anymore?

In desperate need of medical aid but my first-aid pouch is empty? I'll pick their pockets until I find what I need.

If you wanna survive on the battlefield, sometimes you gotta reach into the pockets of the long dead, even if it might be a little disrespectful to do so. After all, they aren't gonna need that tram-injector anymore, nor is that RPG-5 going to be of much use on a dead spec that has no hope of revival.

Of course, you should try not to make a habit of it, there is a difference between surviving and just being rude.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

I went full unga dunga and looted dead marines to see how many attachments i can get on my gun one round. It was after a extremely long defense on prison and xenos were almost dead so I assumed there would be little danger and little consequences on doing that.

SSD: Don't take anything.
Wounded, heading to medivac: With permission.
Dead and able to be rezzed: Ammo/flares.
KIA completely: everything but uniform, boots, and ID (I'll take knife from boots if need be).

Emergency:
Gun if need be, ideally not.

If I absolutely need something during an urgent situation or in the middle of a fire-fight, then I'll take what I need from any corpses or wounded nearby. I'll hand back what belonged to that person if they were revivable or wounded though, but I usually don't think twice about taking it first, unless it's a donor item or from an SSD person.

If theyre dead-dead, as in not coming back, take anything but uniform, boots and ID.

If theyre not braindead dont touch anything unless youre in danger yourself. Though if that person is back on their feet you should return their items.

If you're revivable in a normal situation, I won't touch you. Except to steal your tramadol.

But if you're dead or in capped and we're hauling ass out of where we are, and my gun is now 10 tiles past the alien frontline because a screecher got us, you bet your ass I'm grabbing your gun, ammo, grenades, etc, and using it to get both our butts to safety, especially if it's a one handed death cannon.

Dead marines are a good source of attachments. And ammunition when you run low. Medicine too if it was a medic that's permanent dead.

Anything and Everything if they're not defibbable.

If they've lost a limb but are revivable; anything and everything. (Medbay takes an eternity anyways)

If they're dead but being treated/reviveable; ammo.

If they're a medic and dead (but revivable), trauma and burn kits; or if I'm a Medic, anything I'm low on after using their supplies to treat them.
