Happended today, happy new year's gift I guess?
A PO (me), a doctoc, a medic and a marine gibbed. Along with most supplies. And the OB has been sitting at where the bottom backpack is, for the half of the round, then it was fired when it was requested to be aimed. I bet he mixed up +Y and -Y?

I remember when I've put one in Big Red (Research), said to command fire 5 South and 5 East, they fired it 5 North and wiped the entire Charlie and Delta.
I don't understand why the LTs can't fire it properly, it is so easy to define correct offsets.

Nahh thats nothing. I'm on LV as XO. We're actually winning and driving the enemy back. Suddenly for no reason one of my SOs goes around every over watch station launching every OB. Two fired and Ares announced all groundside marines KIA. An SO who listened to a bald delta pfc who was sitting in the RO line calling for an OB. Led to the death of about 30-40 marines. The entire planetside force just gone.....

No screenshots, but I set an OB with a call for a northwest launch. It was launched Northeast and wiped out an entire squad.

How about the first time Prison was released and we had two bad OBs. I don't know much about the first OB, but second one is the one I deployed and begged my SO to NOT fire. I guess he didn't care cause as soon as it hits the floor, it started beeping and wiped out both Bravo and Alpha.

(Also literally the only time I have ever seen anyone face ANY form of punishment for a bad OB, and only because a mod SM'd the CO to suggest doing it)


















I also have a metrick fuckload of images of flamethrower FF and fire grenade FF. The second being a really egregious example of a tool provided to the marines that causes at least ten times more marine deaths than alien deaths.

That OB yesterday. Though devastating it was pretty amazing that the marines held on after that to win. That round went for like 4 1/2 hours though

Ive had an SO fire the evac one prematurely killing a large amount of the last marines. The only ones who made it were the wounded on board the alamo

Marine had a good cade line set up in front of lamba then CO really wanted to OB snipe the Elite Queen so the OB at where the Ravager was, was fired.



Same round, OB direct hit on Elite Empress but it still had 1/3 HP.
Conclusion: OB is not a good weapon to Queens.

On prison, might even be the same one Cry is talking about.

FOB was half gone because an Elder Pred had blown up in the middle of it, but it was still somewhat existent and we were barely holding at the canteen.

Alpha SL places an OB at the FOB and says not to fire at least four times.

Now, the Alpha SO had been out of the CIC without alerting anyone doing god knows what. As soon as the SL says not to fire and puts down the OB, the Alpha SO walks in from the brig access wearing a Liaison's suit with his uniform in his hand. He makes a beeline for the Alpha Console and immediately fires the OB wordlessly.

I get out of my command chair, calmly walk up to him and put three rounds in his head before going back to the console and announcing his execution.

We managed to win somehow, despite the two bad OBs and the pred bombing. The only time I've battlefield executed an SO for a bad OB.

The other day on LV, delta and charlie were holding an FOB against xenos, surrounded. Charlie SL planted a beacon in the tunnel between the east and west rooms of hydro and called for a hard offset to the west, SO fucked up and wiped half of the marine force inside hydro. Must have been at least 15 dungas in that half of the building.

Forced the marines to retreat and landed on at least five marines. no xeno losses.

I generally measure the success of an OB on how few marines were killed rather than how many xenos were.

That second video was perfect. Ive been blown up but never gibbed. I have gibbed a xeno with CAS as a PO, likely with the same weapon type.

The OB is where my ghost is, IIRC Charlie medic (aSL) placed it and it was the XO fire it (soon executed)
Instant gibbed over 10 marines, 25 total deaths, then the dangerously close midi plays
TIL OB fire is strong, one tile is ok, two is dangerous (or inject yourself Tram before enter OB fire to save ppl),

Plot twist: it was actually the Charlie SO that fired the OB.

I watched that OB on bravo leads cam, he was right in the middle of hit. Utter carnage. The danger close midi was hilarious though.

I barely escaped that OB, I’ll tack it down to luck that I moved to get into a position to push. Not sure why the XO took the fall for it...
