Map voting is now live!
Ladies and gentlemen, weaboos and neckbeards, closet furries and Apache attack helicopters, I am very excited to be making this announcement:
As of tonight, map voting is now a feature.
It’s been a long, 5 month road, full of obstacles and bugs, but it’s finally complete.
Notwithstanding new bugs and admin events, every round you will be able to select from LV-624, Ice Colony, Big Red, and Prison Station. Pending some more updates I have planned, more game modes and such will be available.
Now, I’m sure you have a few questions, so I’ll try and anticipate some of them here:
How do I vote?
At the end of every round, there will be an announcement that voting has opened. Following that, you’ll have 30-40 seconds to vote. You do so by clicking on the provided hyperlink in the announcement or going to the “OOC” tab and hitting “Map Vote”. There will be a notification when voting has closed and the results posted.
If I ignore voting like the fool that I am, what changes will I notice?
Just the announcement and accompanying sound.
How can I rig the vote?
Before you try, voting multiple times will not add more votes, but it will in fact change your selection.
Who the hell are you?
I’ve been a member of the dev team for a while but I’m not as active as I should be, so you might not have seen me, ever. If not, hi, how are you? You may know me from such updates as the shuttle crashing and various minor changes and bug fixes, primarily backend oriented.
As more questions are posted in the comments, I’ll edit this post to answer them.

I play as Monday "Scatter" Williams, he is the guy that takes no one seriously, except his good friend, his work.

Before people meme it to death, the devs have stated on Discord that WO is dead for the foreseeable future for reasons.

Phillip Driver, jack of all trades, reliable in some. Your typical jumpy flamer PFC or ammo fumbling CPL, always has a pair of ballistic goggles on him for unknown reasons. Will probably die mid sentence, because he talks (and gets bullied) too much for his own good. He has his moments though.
Jim, a Gen 2 Synthetic. Has a tendency to get melted to bits when planet side, and that's when he's behind barricades. Despite that, he's vigilant and always ready to drag you out of danger, even if it damages him in the process.

It is dead for reasons, but we do have hopes of reviving it in a soonish future time period that may be later than soonish but possibly soonish.

Re: Map voting is now live!
from what I've seen, we have played every map in the rotation, changing every round
edit: this update is great, playing over and over the same map was kinda boring. Of course we will probably have times where we get the same map 2-4 times, but it is still a choice made by the players, so yay

Thank you mister unknown Dev! MadSnailDisease you are an angel in xeno clothing. Love the ability to swap maps on a vote. Certainly more engaging than having a few days of (seemingly) the same map because only a select few could change it and I am usually not in that time frame! Once again. Thank you!
