Ok, ok. I better explain what the hell I am saying here. It will be small and I will divide into 3 parts, one for the marine mains, one for xeno mains and a to devs in general. I will be as respectable as possible on this one to NOT cause/sitr drama nor denigrate anyone involved because seriously, I don't have the time to have death threats over my discord about how I ruined someone's life in a 2d spessman game when in fact he just got brigged for 20 minutes.

Moving on, I will call out the marine mains on this rant here:

STOP FREAKING CRYING ABOUT YOUR KDR.

Seriously, most marine mains annoy me from their irk to have the most kills, have the best kill, how they abused everything and beyond to achieve that dumb marine win. Like, seriously, who cares if you killed 5 T3s in a single round? you want people to worship you because you killed a hard enemy, that in reality is not that EVEN hard to finish off. Hell, I already finished an Elite Empress by myself in one round for taking the opportunity of a situation. Like any normal being in a MEDRP server would do.

but what grinds my gears is not the ones that brag about KDRs, are the ones that do EVERYTHING AND BEYOND to achieve that perfect KDR. If you didn't live under a rock, you know the recently player report that caused a spec change that nerfed and "crippled" the marines. Oh good, I can't use the RPG if I am a B18... neat. if the RPG guy is a crewie, let him die. Every history has the dumb guys that die first. But APPARENTLY, some people are really good book critics and think that no one should die whatsoever. Because a good storybook is great without suspense nor drama... Yeah, they are specialists on that shit.

You all gotta understand the reason for marine nerfs are the goddam MARINES. We wouldn't have this spec nerf if he didn't use the weapons like that. Again, on one of my rounds, all specs besides me died and I used every single weapon of then without abusing to max efficiency. Was Queen around? I went to get the GL and use on her. Was there any nearby T1,T2,T3? Used my main weapon, RPG. a Boiler on distance? Sniper it is. And so it went on. I didn't use all weapons to maximum efficiency of one man army. I used to like a rational being would use. And this is what most marine players must understand.

You can play to win, sure, go ahead and play to have a non-existent win for your personal satisfaction. You don't need to RP either, it's not a requirement, it's just a fluff that adds more to the experience. But now, don't be One Man Army that thinks you can do everything and nothing can hurt you and if the admins/devs stop you, they are the ones to blame. Just, stop. this only happens in fictional DC comics or Marvel Comics. Or Doom because Doom is great. But not here.

So to wrap it up, stop maknig devs nerf marines for power gaming to the extreme without good reason. Stop making super bombs that End half the server in one touch. Stop superheating the SM to kill everyone to score a one-man win. Stop creating combos of weapons to bring up your kills to absurd levels, because at the end, no one cares to this and all it does is HURT marines in the long run.

All you do with your power gaming is make devs take longer to buff Marines, give us fancy tools and shit, and when they give them, they just remove because the amount of abuse is absurd. And then you all mvoe to god dam discord and start BITCHING about how everything is "boring" when you were the ones that caused shit to be boring in the first place a few years ago. So, good job. You HURT the very faction you wanted to win. (Or maybe only to up your personal wins)

While xenos are strong and regain health once you kill them they are dead. No xeno medics with xeno defibs for them. Play, have fun, and interact.

On the multiple Spec weapon abuse:
Abuse of Spec weapons is not needed to kill xenos.
For example, I was RPG Spec and had been consistently out of the fight due to injuries. Eventually I managed to head back down to the planet to aid in full evac. I was down there five minutes and with one good rocket, a nade from a PFC, and my M39 we killed the Elite Empress.
The way Bladebr describes using multiple spec weapons when you have multiple dead spec's guns (as occasionally happens), I'd say, is a "normal, not totally gamey" way of using them. Using a scout cloak, B18, and RPG/GL combined with a sniper is just...well...you get the point.

My opinion, you can't convince a ss13 player to play the way CM is intended. It won't happen. You have to force him into submission. The only way to stop marines from abusing shit is to nerf them to a level no abuse is possible.

And I belive that's the issue. It only hurts the marines in the long run to the point gets literally pointless in the first place.

IE. MT. They had a cool engine to work and mess on, but the constant abuses made the devs realize it was not necessary anymore, since it was causing problems.

The issue is that thise few people does things that affects the round as a WHOLE.

For example, again, superheating the SM and killing all xenos and marines. One guy "won" the round by himself pretty much by setting the SM to kill everything.

When you see the logic behind some updates, you understand the Feweh's phrase "this is why we can't have nice things."

I was gonna say I've seen serious meta from the ayys. And you even have to tell people not to put bodies on the landing pads. It's nuts.

Using the rocket launcher from cloak was the first thing that I thought about when the scout cloak came out. You have to be pretty blind to not see the potential. Omni-specs were already pretty nasty to fight as an ayylien and obviously when you introduce gear that doesn't occupy hand slots then it can get harder. Shaming the playerbase for using the tools that they are given is pretty shit, fam.

Hoping I can get Scout spec eventually to see how the recent shotgun nerf works (wonder how much xenosalt caused that particular change). Can you not shoot a shotgun at all or can you not shoot while invisible? Either way doesn't make much sense to me. If it just disabled the camouflage when you shot it then I would be happy with that though.

Anyway, they are supposed to be *specialists* with advanced training in the use of a particular weapon. If anything, the post-nerf specialist makes way more sense than the pre-nerf one hauling four spec weapons around and switching between all of them.

Yeah, you shouldn't be shit talking people for using what the game gives them. You can enforce mechanical limitations to prevent it from happening in the future, but it's not really their fault for playing the game. Someone else would have done it eventually, and maybe they'd have forced it to be removed.

It's just one Marine (the Spec) that could've been handled relatively easily by a competent Xeno. They constantly overextended.

Alas, it was during a quirky time zone and the average Xeno player struggles to handle some of the more robust Marines. (Challenges create better Marines, Xenos rarely have much in the way of challenges thrown at them.)

I enjoy playing Xeno because it's at times challenging (the Hive dies off due to incompetence and there's 12 Xenos vs 100 Marines) and because it can be fun to fight small groups of Marines as a T2.

I, for one, hope the Marines aren't nerfed into the ground where Robust Marines are unable to provide a challenge.

Blade is an open guy who respects opinions and with which you can discuss. It's his opinion that's instantly dismissed by people who insult him for it and for the role he plays.
I've seen him be targeted by people OOCly for brigging them. He gets OOC threats and insults for playing by the rules.

He's not talking about people who want to have fun here. People who are having fun aren't toxic and they know it's a game and it's not that important. He's talking about people who want to be validated, who want to prove they're better than the rest, and who blame players for following rules they don't like.
