History -

Kane Romano was born to a strictly Roman-Catholic family in the port town of Rimini, Italy, on the Eastern Coast. His parents, [RE-DIRECT TO MEDICAL HISTORY] and [RE-DIRECT TO MEDICAL HISTORY] Romano, both worked typical port jobs; Father Romano was a ship captain, fishing for the local seafood markets, while his Mother was a local cook. Kane grew up alongside two siblings, whom he refused to mention for the personnel report. He attended a religious school a few miles outside of Port Rimini, with the desire to grow up and become a Priest. Growing older, however, Kane became obsessed with exploration. Born in a time when space travel was possible, he decided he would take to the stars, but due to a general lack of money, and all the threats of the modern frontier, Kane decided to find another way to explore the cosmos. He left home and enlisted in the United States Colonial Marines, becoming a citizen of the United Americas and abandoning his home planet in search of adventure and kinship elsewhere, bringing his passion for exploration and his reverence for dead heroes with him, much to the anger of his father and sorrow of his mother. Kane believed he was destined to make a difference.

Kane himself is relatively new to armed services. After enlisting and becoming a member of the UA, he joined the USCM Training Program. He excelled in all his classes, from the standard PT training to the more complex firearm practices and reconnaissance courses. While he had little talent for field sketches, he did have a knack for taking great photographs. He also managed to make quick, tactical decision in regards to artillery fire positions and flanking maneuvers. He shows great promise still of leading his own Squad someday. He was deployed on the USS Almayer after a year and a half of extended training at the age of 20 and is currently, as of uploading this report, in active duty.

K. Romano is a mentally sound Marine with some possible issues involving the dead. It came to my attention rather quickly he was an observant Catholic, and he took this quite seriously. However, even for a Catholic, he holds high regards for the dead, what I first believed to be an almost unhealthy obsession. I asked Kane about these "Annals" he keeps, to which he responded as such;

"The Annals? Ah, the Books of Kane. I started these my first month into active service...Fighting alongside my brothers I began to realize how many of them were down to earth, how many were above and beyond, the stark contrast to each individual Marine...and yet, when you see one of them die, that...that spark within them, that makes them ambitious to move up, a leader that spearheads the assault, a-a Medic that will dart out of cover into open fire to reclaim an injured friend...it all just...vanishes. But not while I have a say. As long as I have a pen and paper I intend to take note of everything our Company commits to. Every action, every death, ever order and every mission, I'll be there, keeping our history, our traditions alive. But more importantly, keeping alive the memory of our dead. Because they are heroes. They are heroes."

Upon further investigation it has been decided he is completely fit to serve, and his views on the dead acceptable, even honorable.
