Some new ideas for minor/major events?

Maybe we should spawn in some special gear some round? Maybe we could have some traders come in? What could be some idea for our admins to do for the marine/xenos?

Xenos start on almayer with marine gear and the marines spawn in caves and call the commander momma

I think traders would be a good mini event that could spice up the mundane life of some SOs and ROs. Command would have to trade money for gear and then the RO would have to drop a bunch of supply crates down to the planet with attachments and non-standard gear. The only problem with events such as these is, what happens to the traders after they sell their goods? Do they leave or....????

I think that would be funny as hell but I think it would also break the server, not to mention the fact that the Xenos would still be outnumbered by the almost 100 marines that spawn

We’ve had a few rounds such as this before. Most of the time the stock wasn’t sold out and there weren’t too many marines coming around to buy the gear but those were still fun events

Last time we had a trader event...that I remember at least...you had to roll a dice. If you rolled a one you get murdered by the trader, anything else you got to pick one item. I got to pick a pred helmet...those things blocked like a million face huggers.

But it wasn't uniform so I almost got brigged for wearing it.

I want a tribes round event that explains how xenos made it to prison station according to its lore, the round starts with some of us being prisoners and some prison guards and staff etc, a ship crashes with some xenos onboard it (no need for a queen or drones, just a few hunters/spitters), then a full prison riot with them commie weapons we find on the map then stuff goes to shit till the end of the round (this is when marines land).

could also use this 'prequel event' for all the other maps explaining how xenos got there and everyone died, but this is probably too much work.

And, a recent topic sprang up... a trader comes to the ship and starts selling "actual" robot parts and robots in general? *Thanks HackedGlass :)

you know how tribes rounds are, anything and everything can happen lol

*also most prisons always have those guys that can get you anything you want if you pay for it

Just to correct you, the xenos were already there. It was pirates that tried to jail break thier comrade is what fucked over the prison station and released the xenos from containment.

well yeah I dont know the exact lore, and most people on the server dont, hence the idea of the event.

What about the usual human vs human but with a twist. Instead of waves of UPP there is a small, set number of well equipped deathsquad. Say 20 or so. The deathsquad have a mission to complete on the Almeyer, and the marines need something from the deathsquad base. Eventually aliens get spawned in as antagonists to both sides. So in theory you get an interesting 3v3 free for all.

Personally, I'd appreciate a scenario akin to the first Alien movie or the 2nd Alien, but from the perspective of the colonists pre-Marine deployment. Although I can only imagine how difficult it would be to impose a non-metagamey approach on players during these types of scenarios, and I wouldn't be surprised to see human players stockpile early during rounds in preparation.

preds vs. humans in a way somewhat like the first 2 predator movies. instead of civilian survivors there are CLF rebels in the ruined colony base/station that the marines are coming to kill, but the preds are just entertaining themselves with the CLF till the marines land.

preds vs. xenos with barely-armed human civilian survivors caught in the middle

rogue synthetics rebellion who have reprogrammed themselves to be able to use guns and have a way to build new synths vs. marines

Human vs. human round are a pain in the butt to monitor, that is why it doesn't happen alot.

I'd love to see a UPP vs USCM vs PMC vs CLF crossover episode.
Everybody starts on equal footing and it quickly dissolves into a clusterfuck lagfest.

That or a post-round game mode where the victorious Marines are ordered to rebuild the colony they just bombed the shit out of, plus recovering & identifying bodies, making the command staff inform their families.
Basically just a shit ton of paper work and labor. Kinda like those viscera clean up games that are just chores but once you finish it's really satisfying to see how you've cleaned up.
