I know that on LV there is a mech wreck and a robotics station, you can insert metal into the station, but PFCs can't access it. There is also components of mechs lying around the robotics dome, I know in /tg/ (?) you can salvage wrecks for their components, arms, legs, wire, boards, etc. Can you do this on the modified BayCode the server is using? I've seen borgs floating around but I think those are special cases. I've always had this idea of fixing up/ making a mech for combat against the xenos, and wondered if it was even possible.

As far as I understand there are several critical components missing, also no guns.

You could, in the old Sulaco you could extract the brain of a human, slap it into the brain AI gizmo you found in LV tcomms and put it inside a powerloader to make a Self-manned mech. Like a cyborg.

But all of those things would get deleted as soon an admin saw it since it wasn't lore friendly nor allowed. I do believe you can start the repair of the mech but never get to finish it.

No you cannot. There are mech parts and so on, but like LocalizedDownpour sayd, there are critical components missing and no guns. Also on other maps there are hidden mech-wrecks/ruins which state when examined 'This ####-Suit/####-Mech is damaged beyond repair.'

"damaged beyond repair" It says that too on /tg/ but you can still salvage the parts from it, but yeah, without guns any mechs would just get robusted hard

1: To secure research PLANET-SIDE
2: researchers, and an engie to dis-assemble and get it Almayer-side
3: power
4: MATERIALS GA-FUCKING-LORE
5: Time

FYI, this is ... sort of power-gamey, it's not REALLY power-gaming because it's obtainable, otherwise admins would remove it.

Try not to create a fucking deathsquad mech though, because THAT IS power-gaming.

The circuit boards are commented out of the code. The item literally does not exist.

Also, all mechs ingame are fluff. the Admin Exosuits on the devtest z level are fluff, not actual mechs. The wrecks are simply fluff too.
Mechs cause some aids errors when used & create alot of lag. Simply can't happen lads :(
