Post Operation cleanup would have been a dull, boring, soul-draining experience for most people, but not Harper. For her, it was, for lack of a better word... "Fun". Harper wasn't like most people, probably more so since she wasn't actually a person. Even with her own kind she seemed quite... unique in her persona. You see, Harper was a synthetic, a piece of hardware engineered and produced by Weyland-Yutani's very own Artificial Intelligence Division, and although she may look human with her blue eyes and sandy colored hair, she was very much machine. Where most people would find cleanup boring, she was built for it.
===========
"Harper," said Heinz, acting commander of the Almayer, "I need you to assist engineering in the restoration of the northern hallway. That boarding craft those CLF bastards launched at us did a number on our upper systems, and most of our engineers were injured on impact." Harper nodded in acknowledgement before heading east out of the CIC, moving at a brisk, efficient pace. She passed the CL's office, noticing the blood and shell casings still strewn about the Liason's front office. When the boarders came, the first place they hit was here.
After a moment's pause she made a note to return here once she was done with her given tasks so she could... tidy up. Once she arrived at the northern hall she examined the damage, determining that without proper restoration in the next 7 hours this hallway would become compromised and depressurize most of the upper deck. She got to work fixing pipes, repairing damaged structural supports, rebuilding destroyed sections of wall, and removing the remains of the battle 2 hours prior. As she passed research, she looked in through the reinforced window, disappointment apparent on her face. On the floor were the 2 researchers, Valentina Garilovich and Sigma Orsan, rigamortis just now setting in. Nearby, leaning halfway over the table was Private First Class Adan Howard, cigar still clenched in his teeth. As fun as cleanup was to Harper, seeing members of her crew dead and forgotten brought a sense of... something to her, not quite an emotion, but if she had to compare it to something, she might describe it as... sadness. Of course, being an Artificial persons meant that she was incapable of feeling true emotions, only simulating such feelings for the benefit of her human compatriots. She made sure to notify the medical cleanup crews about their locations.
As the minutes became hours, Harper turned a once ruined section of ship into a masterpiece of architectural engineering, or so she thought, and the risk of explosive decompression diminished from 40% to 0.07%, well within the margin of error. With her last task complete, she proceeded to Medbay to assist in the tending of the wounded, of that there were many. Not once did she tire though, for she was but a machine, incapable of such thoughts, and unlike the rest of the crew, she enjoyed every second of it.
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
I enjoy medical and engineering, as those are the roles I'm most experienced with, but I'm perfectly capable of assisting and manning the various consoles on the CIC, and assisting cargo and the POs are easy peasy! Harper's quirck is that she's exceptionally optimistic about her given objectives, almost to the point of obnoxiousness. I intend to RP of course, and I intend to make shipside Almayer a more fun and interesting place when I'm aboard!
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
I have experience with all shipside jobs, with PO being my least played role. I'm fully capable of performing any task asked of me, and if I'm unfamiliar with something for whatever reason I have no qualms Ahelping a mentor or consulting the wiki.
Why should we whitelist you?
I wish to play a higher RP role, as well as experience the server from a different perspective, and I find the current synths really fun to play with and I'd like to be a part of that! My eventual hope is that by showing I'm good in a role like this I'll prove I'm capable of other roles such as predator and commander.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
I think 2 or so weeks ago I was banned for 24 hours during an event for tossing grenades in briefing. That was a result of me misunderstanding what the event was and poor judgement, and I take full responsibility for my actions.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
I'm not currently banned from any server.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
yes
