If you had the Power to make any type of event, what event you would make?

I would make a even where ALL player are survivor with a small clf garrison, need to hold the colony útil CLF reinfocements arrive against aliens.

I do enjoy an almayer invasion event with UPP forces, insert a russian song MIDI for bonus point
I play "Mudder Plantagenet" and that's it, no fancy quotes or anything.

Space boarding event. Marines have to wear down a couple hostile ships to disable it then proceed to baord it in order to capture the ship and the hostiles or important details.

Replace survivors with CLF soldiers.

Or have a containment event involving the SCP foundation (if i could break lore)

Or have a predator invasion instead of xenos with the preds being weaker than normal but greater in number

My favorites are the events where a "UPP Destroyer *Commie Name* " or something or another transmits a message to the Almayer saying something like "You are trespassing. Surrender your arms and prepare to be boarded."


A scenario like where we had, more or less, our beloved Almayer "fighting" a "UPP warship" makes it all the more interesting.
Hell, I remember a round where UPP took over the Almayer, defeating the xenos who had killed the marines and Ivan aka Hacked ARES used the Almayer's weapons to fend off another USCM warship.
The RP then went further with extra fluff of the same UPP warship transmitting they'd be towing the Almayer back to a UPP orbital dock. Stuff like that feels good.

Stuff like that is always amazing and often it doesn't even have to involve landing on the planet, although it would be cool to throw that bit in somehow.

CLF rounds don't feel the same way for me. They feel uber combat based because CLF are basically terrorists while UPP are a actual political entity

ANY type of event? If I could sprite and code? Klendathu invasion. The similarities of the Colonial Marines and the Federation is utterly undeniable, James Cameron was partially inspired by Starship Troopers when he created the Colonial Marines. Given how much "bugs" are casually mentioned in Aliens, we never get to see anything other than xenos and fawras. Whenever I see xenos called "bugs", I just imagine marines being hacked apart and melted in a WO-style desert map by pretty much the same bugs you see in the Verhoeven movie. There could even be an offensive marine win condition, something like invading a cave and killing/capturing the brain bug.

Honestly I think the bugs of ST would fit the server perfectly if you just take away their asteroid-tossing abilities. If they were locked on one planet, they wouldn't be much more than a resource-blocking nuisance, something i'd imagine W-Y has the USCM throw boots at often.

I also agree with UPP anything. I think a sense of 'don't shoot the green guys the instant you see them' has slowly been instilled in the marines as events have been held, and it's really starting to become a fun "Cold War Border-Tensions in Space" simulator.

Ice Colony with the Zombie Virus. everyone starts out as Colonist. once shit goes down hill, USCM comes to aid and also gets rekt'd.

If I could host an event, it'd a Vietnam one where Marines would be equipped with older gear such as the M16, .45 M4A3s, basic first aid kits, etc. The enemy Marines would be facing would be CLF with equally as old equipment (their normal equipment, basically).

When I was an admin on Yogstation I did a few events. Cant say that all were good but I liked them.

Have 5 CLs on the ship all competing for a sizable bonus. Objectives get progressively more ridiculous as the round progresses.

Round starts as normal. Distress beacon is heard, soon followed by encrypted transmission. At 12:15, an impact is felt on the Almayer as a ship plows into the hull.
It's full of clowns.

A Human vs Human event in Whiskey Outpost map.

It’d be more or less simple. A UPP group or a commando team have to infiltrate/attack the base. Take some cargo, sabotage something or assasinate/kidnap someone or just eleminate all marines. They’ve inserted through the crashed dropship or so.

Marines on the other side are unaware or move in to investigate the crash. Their objective beingand defending their base. For them its just another regular day. Would probably be something new and interesting as no Almayer is around.

Or even placing xenos instead. However, the game mode is meant to be either the default infestation or extended roleplay.



Another idea would be a human vs human round in LV map. Have responders fill the planetside roles at nexus and so on, security marshalls, bartenders, colony director and so on. Put in a small team of CLFs forces over by secure storage or something. Their mission is to get aboard the Almayer as spies and try to sabotage or take control of the vessel. Taking down T-Comms, storming CIC and sending a distress beacon.

Once the distress beacon is sent CLF reinforcements come in via shuttles and the colonists all rebel on the USCM forces and try to take over DS1.

USCM objective would be to defend their ship and take over the colony.



As for events involving xenos, I think feweh made a great one earlier where power went down, xenos overran the upper deck and CIC and when the power went up most were unaware and in disarray.

Hostile freelancers in prison station. UPP presence in Ice colony. Some event with predator drama. Where predators are the protagonists.

Theres really a lot of possibilities. Problem is that on high pop the server gets laggy and crashes can also happen.

I saw this suggestion a while back, but it would be like a prequel to the events on LV-624, where the round starts with a fully-functioning colony and human garrison of scientists, miners, and other colonists. One person is chosen to be infected, and that chestburster goes on to lead the infestation that slowly grows over the course of the round. It ends colonists either repelling the Aliens or being overcome and making a last stand. Bonus points if it then continued as a normal CM round with the marines touching down.

My event would basically be the USS Almayer replacing the USS Sophora in Alien lore.

The old Sulaco map is reinstated with a landing point for the Alamo at the Sulaco's escape wing. W-Y PMCs control the bridge of the Sulaco who use its guns to fire upon the Almayer. Of course while all of this is happening xenos have infested the entire ship. There would basically be three battles occuring: humans fighting against each other, humans fighting the xenos, and the struggle of the Alamayer's staff desperately trying to do damage control (fight fires, fix breaches, etc) and stop the ship's nuclear reactors from going critical. I think there would be a lot of potential for great RP especially for the ship-side crew like the MTs.

This would be good, its got everyone in it.

Its a round where its on LV and it starts out with the colony not being actually destroyed yet. In the time that marines are getting into briefed, the last of the colonists are getting captured and slaughtered. The CL is already aware its a WeYu Experiment. As marines land, CLF is spawned and The Marines and CLF attempt to kill the newly started hive. Marines get into a 3 way firefight between the CLF and Aliens. Preds are just out and about, A few colonists are suppose to be guaranteed to survive only to try and get away from the CL.

UPP enter the orbit of LV and attempt to fire upon the Almayer and board it. Death squad at the end. Its just hectic and nobody knows whats going on. But Carson has to be the commander as part of the catch for the event. Also CL has to try and avoid the wrath of the Marines and attempt to cover up the whole story by killing the survivor.
