Description of the incident: I got out of cyro just after I got home from school, maybe 4:40 PM, I get my gear on and the CE orders me to head down to planetside to get medivendors that squad engies have. I get gear on by the CEs order and get on the Alamo. The CO, William "Jester" Crimson punches me and tells me to get off. That is an IC issue which I do not care about reporting. Crimson says he doesnt care about my mission and tells me to fix cic when someone else is doing it. Doctor Harry Granite says I have brute damage on my head and groin. I go to the brig to talk to an MP, Bratton is the one I see first. I tell him about the COs crimes. Conduct unbecoming and assault. Bratton says that Physical Punishment is common in the military and I have to put up with it. He says he will confront the CO, and then SSGt Ray 'Oxy' Sanders comes in, and ask what is happening. I tell him what ive said previously. I ask them to come to a doctor. Hungry says that the CO will be fined for the assault. He says "Do you expwect me to lock up our commanding officer because of a brawl? Ray accuses me of Disturbing the peace and telling them how to do their job. I say I didnt fight the CO, so it wasnt a brawl. Hungry then walks up to me with handcuffs and says stand still, He says he is arresting me for false accusations, which isnt a crime. I cry to my other engies on the radio. He tries to tazer me. When another MP does, he bashes me in the head with a stun baton, Assault. He says I was neglecting duty, when my duty was the orders given to me By CE. Ray correcting says that running out and tazing me isnt procedure. Bratton says my crimes are false accusations, neglect of duty and resisting questioning and arrest. The arrest was false, and I was following my duty. False accusations isnt a crime. The CE says that he ordered me to go down. Ray arrests Bratton for false arrest. He lets me go.

I suggest you read the server rules, as you ironically could have been job-banned. To assist, I posted an extract here for you.

Non-Combat members of the Almayer Crew may leave the ship, IF they have clearance from their department head and the acting commander. They are restricted to the FOB only. Not getting clearance or leaving when told not to WILL result in a Job Ban. Exception: The Liaison. He can leave even if specifically told not too (resolved as an IC issue).

Regarding the MP, his charges for neglect of duty MAY have stemmed from my chatter, the CIC power was down with active MTs confirmed on the station but no response was made until after I kicked you off the dropship. I made my feelings that you were all incompetent and neglecting your duty.

I did confirm hearing the MPs were planning an investigation when I returned and eventually they did some very basic questioning over comms when it was apparent I wasn't returning as we were stomping the aliens. Either he believed me (Which personally, I see as an IC situation) or additional factors came in to play.

The False Arrest charge is a bit odd because the wording, but I COULD see the charge implemented, (The phrasing of the law is highly unusual, I'll talk to Feweh/Apop/SomeoneBigAndStrongAboutIt)

The thing is, I had permission from the CE, and he said to go down. I thought he already confirmed with you. He gave me the go head. Im a lowly MT, I was ORDERED by the CE to go down. I wasn't going to question that. Per this issue, I will ask my boss if they have confirmed, because apparently and naively of me, I thought I could trust ship-side personnel to be mildly competent. The medical equipment vendors were all at the FOB. I was not neglecting duty, as I had just woken up 5 minutes earlier and fixed lower reactors with minor issues. They had broken down to the first level of brokenness, and I just wrenched it and fix. Of course you didnt know, but you didnt bother to ask and just ASSUMED that we were incompetent. Generalizations are bad, and you made one. I had no time to check upper as the CE ordered me down. Bratton said false accusations were a crime, which it is not. And you assaulted me and punched me. That is a crime and he was neglecting his duty by not arresting. Then he proceeds to try and arrest me for false accusations, which is not a crime, and therefore false arrest. Of course lets say he didnt have proof, but a Dr. Harry Granite said to me I had damage and I was going to bring the MP to him to have him say that. False arrest still counts which is breaking marine law.

For the "going down to the planet without asking the CO" part, I don't see this is any rule breaks. You never actually went down, just were sitting on the dropship to go down, correct? If that's the case you never went down so there were no rules to even break yet. Personally, I usually run under the expectation that the department head runs their plans by the CO before handing out the order, so I wouldn't harp over the fact you didn't go to the CO yourself just to ask him, as you don't even have direct access to the CO.

The MP sounds like he was trying to reference False Arrest, which I assume they believe the assault charge wasn't a valid one and you were trying to pull false charges on the CO. Now, how legit the assault charge was is another debate we can get into later. I do have a question though, did you try to run or actively resist the arrest? If you did resist, that does put a real charge on you, even if the initial charge wasn't. That's not even counting that "Neglect of duty" is arguably a legit charge as you didn't go to the CIC like the CO ordered you to.

This doesn't really seem like ill intents, as it mostly does a misunderstanding of everything that was going on.

Yes I was just sitting on there. Resisting arrest is the only valid charge, because I was running around in a circle that was within 5 meters of them, calling for my boss.

False accusation isn't an official charge, and the accusation wasn't false anyway. The arresting MP had nowhere near enough evidence to qualify the accusation of true or false.
Neglect of duty is debatable, but I find no logs of the commander telling the MPs anything about it. And the CE confirmed the MT's story. Chargint the MT with this looks like poor roleplay or outright being a dick.
The resisting arrest is completely fine, but it is my opinion the arrest shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Really sorry for letting this one fly under the radar for a while. Due to his general lack of understanding for Marine Law, player notes regarding MP, and a possible confession that they're going out of their way to cause problems, they'll be receiving an MP/CMP job-ban.
