Was on Ice Colony in bravo squad holding a FOB nothing out of the ordinary yet when randomly flares are thrown back at us, people thought nothing of it at first because we had giant lizards spitting acid at us, I however decided to investigate and saw a slight shimmer against the metal after afew seconds I unloaded my standard issue pulse rifle into the beast and a loud roar ensued, next thing I knew I was running for my life for it took my hand and right arm clean off. However I was lucky enough to get back to the FOB, after being stabilized by medical, I returned to the area and grabbed my arm and hand, After getting a new robotic arm and hand I went to command to report to XO frost regarding my encounter, however I was frustrated with his blatant disregard of my danger and warnings regarding the creature so I took my hand out of my bag and threw it against his window, shortly after I was let out of the bridge.

Big Red, found an SL armor, helm, got myself an APR, large pouches, AP and shit, became an UML just from looting as PFC.

Too bad the round ended ten minutes after that and I get to shoot at nothing.

1 v 1 Agaisn't a hunter, I got separated from my squad in a full retreat, he started chasing me and when he pounced me he took my left foot, after struggling to get my weapon on my hands a few times, I made it and took three straight buckshots to the chest, while I was left there to die cause I was too fucked up, hopefully my squaddies got there in time to keep me living.

I take tolerance breaks from CM every so often.

I mean, aside from the fact that you're an infectiously toxic and ravenous bunch of salty sperglords, if I play too frequently I get really lax. Something about normalization of risk. Over time, the gamble becomes more entertaining than the outcome. Anyways, after a decent hiatus, I started playing again around late december-january. We were in one of those epic meatgrinder rounds on LV-624. Constant contact and intense pitched battles from the moment the marines crossed the river. I was on my second or third runner and the hive had pretty much spent itself taking down the FOB. It was down to just me, two other xenos, and the queen. There was no way we could take the fight upstairs and while we were recuperating I scouted the remaining marines beating a retreat to LZ2.

As we converged on them in an attempt to replenish our numbers, we lost another sister. But, we did manage to capture the few remaining marines and get them nested and infected in the Corporate dome. That didn't abort the Normandy from its extraction run though and we lost the last other sister when it disgorged one of those bastard mixed-squad fireteams of whomever happened to be standing around in the hanger. Just me and the queen now, but we held and the fireteam found themselves broken and shattered. They retreated, flew away, and we bought ourselves a few more minutes.

Now, I really cant quite attribute what happened next to any one thing. Maybe I was at that perfect balance between chill casual and robust uberxeno. Maybe the round had dragged on so long that the playercount had thinned up enough to make the lag effectively disappear. Maybe the marines, practically rabid at the taste of an imminent marine victory succumbed body and soul to that unga of the dunga. I dunno, I couldnt tell ya. But what I do know, is that in the time it took for them to load up on the Normandy and get back down, I had upgraded to elite. And, for that wave and the next, I was in the fucking zone.

Every pounce was perfect, every push shoved a marine into FF, and every tackle landed right when it needed. I was darting in and out of the dome and around the hedges of LZ2 like a madman. Dodging shots, recapturing escaping hosts, and crippling smartgunners. Two and a half fucking waves of marines came down at us from the dropships. Every time the queen broke cover, I was there to capitalize on the screech or momentarily stun some baldie trying to run her down. It was an absolutely insane fifteen minutes of madness. Probably the best Id ever played.

It wasnt until some autistic horder who had somehow held onto a claymore for the entire round managed to sneak one down in a chokepoint that I got caught. The fusillade of lead that followed shortly thereafter made my corpse explode in a shower of acidic gore. But I took no small amount of pride that it rained down onto the bodies of at least a dozen marines nearby. I think I had enough time to get out one anticlimactic "lame" in dchat before a flood of "F"s and unexpectedly complimentary comments hit my chatlog. Somebody even asked for my ckey, which I declined to share.

As a player that mostly strives to be a background character in the tapestry of CM, it was a pretty conflicting moment. The spotlight feels weird, but the acknowledgement gave me a bit of the warm fuzzies. Ive mostly settled back into that casual, just trying to have fun playstyle now. But every so often I still get a taste of that robust feeling. Might even be worth taking another tolerance break...

Once i was PO and we were all on the ship we barricaded ourselves in a conference room and put as many barricades as we could, (the ship was boarded) i started giving orders to everyone and gave a badass speach about freedom, then, for some reason an admin played a sad song, and a shit ton of xenos came in front of the door, i told my boys that this was our final stand, we fought to the last bullet some of us even punched xenos when all our weapons were empty, we all died but i will always remember the heroic warcry that we screamed from the top of our lungs .

Critting a Xeno around upper engineering. Marines following me. Pulling my mateba :

I once killed a hunter with SADAR at point blank range. (Not insta but it died shortly after)

Several experiences stick in my mind. The first was being XO under Carson on Lv-624. I got the go ahead to deploy to the FOB and help coordinate the marines, so I went over to the RO and grabbed myself a marksman rifle. I landed at the FOB and started fighting alongside the marines, at one point nearly dying to the queen and barely being saved by a synth who was working as a surgeon. I kept blasting aliens at long range with AP rounds while half blinded, to the point where a hivelord had to throw a wall of resin walls to stop me from sniping boilers. Also the queen got crushed by the dropship.

The other was a four hour round on Ice colony. At one point the aliens were directly assaulting the FOB while we marines desperately were holding out. The admins started playing a midi of the Rush song Tom Sawyer while I was manning the mounted smartgun. It was awesome as we managed to repel the aliens. Shame it ended with the server crashing.

Oh and killing an elite boiler one on one with a tac shotgun on big red.

On LV, a hunter devoured me and i burst out of it using a knife in my boot while it was taking me across the river.

On Ice Colony i got ganked by a hunter and a spitter near dorms on my way to engineering, they took my smg and rifle before i was able to land some hits on them, i was about to get dragged to the hive, but then some pred interrupted them and gave his sword to me, then he just watched. I was able to get a few hits on em before they melted the sword and finally kill me.
