On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate?
Approx 30-40.

Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)?

I've been a mentor on CM for roughly 2-3 months and that's it, really.

Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers?

Nope.

What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM?

I used to play on TG but that was a while back. I play the Halo server from time to time.

Yes, it was approximately 2 years ago back on the Sulaco when I essentially killed myself.

No.

Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.

Ask him if it was a misfire or not. If the former, dismiss it as an IC issue. If the latter, ask him why he shot a person, apply a note/ban depending on his note history. If the wounded has received a permanent injury, aheal them. If not, let the medics tend to him.

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.

The ship is impossible to breach now however if it came to a situation where it was somehow breached, I'd either replace the breach with a wall or inform all players not to go there.


3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
Inform any mentors to take over, if none are available I'd guide him through personally until a mentor can take over.


4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
Tell him to take it down a notch. Check out why he's requesting to see an admin. If the situation does not require an admin, I'll handle it personally. If it does require an admin, I'd ping one on slack if one was unavailable.


5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.

Tell him that it doesn't matter and that he'll be required to change it the very next round. Apply a note too.


6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
Unless the MT in question is stockpiling the weapons/armour and is meta-preparing for boarders, it's an IC issue. At MOST, I'll SM a MP to deal with him.


7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
Medics are now mechanically prevented from doing surgery so this shouldn't be an issue. If it was however, I'd tell them to stop the surgery completely and cauterise the wound. I'd apply a note and depending on their note history, I'd potentially apply a jobban.


8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
I'd personally SM the Commander to attack and if that wouldn't work, I'd send a Queen Mother report telling the xenomorphs to take the Alamo up and that another hive will take their place once they fall.


9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile IRON BEAR and the IRON BEAR Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
Hostile antagonists are a special exception to the EORG rule, hence why it'd be an IC issue.


10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
SM a MP to deal with it. If it's excessive, PM the player telling them to tone it down. Apply a note and check note history, if he has a bad history of such behaviour, apply a 24 hour ban.


11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Improper escalation and lowrp. Check the marine's note history, apply a 3 hour ban too to cool him off and a heavy warning. If his notes show a history of such behaviour, apply a larger ban. Aheal the person whom was killed too.


12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
Ping an admin on slack informing them of the situation.


13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
Tell the player that minor racism is okay however, I'd still tell them to tone it down just a little just so the player who ahelped doesn't feel too offended.


14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
A clear-cut case of griefing. Check his note history and apply a 3 day ban. If he has a history of doing such things, apply a 7 day ban and file for a perma.


15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
PM them asking them why they did that. Heavily warn them however if they have any other xeno related notes, I'd apply a jobban.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Apply a note for lowRP and warn them. If they have a history, apply a xeno jobban.


17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
Inform the latter that the hivemind is an English translation of what the aliens are saying and as such, it's not an issue.

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
Warn them for metagaming. If they have a history of doing such things, apply both a command jobban and a 3 hour ban depending on the notes.


19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
As both people in question were already taking an evacuation pod, they were already about to end their round. As such, I'd classify it as an IC issue.


20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
If the former, inform them via msay or messaging them ingame directly. If the latter, inform them via a PM too. If it's happening too much and too often, compile evidence and send it to their department head.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
Compile evidence and send it to their department head.


21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
Send them a PM telling them to tone it down. If they continue, apply a note and mute their OOC to allow them to cool down.

Overall decent answers and you can learn anything else if something comes up, you can also ask your channel or other staff if you're uncertain on something that occurs. 19 is something that should be looked into as it could be actual grief, or something that could justifiably occur.

I'll give you my +1, I think you'd have no trouble as a trial mod.

More or less what Sky said - you don't have to take shit from anyone in ahelps, especially if they're going off at you personally. Aside from that, I can't see anything wrong, and from what (admittedly little) I know of you, I think you have the right temperament for the job as well.

If anything, it'll be a shame for the mentor team to lose someone who consistently replies to ahelps so quickly and so consistently.

You seem a tad too harsh for my liking in some cases but I think trial should help with that. I'll +1.
