Description of the incident: After not being able to cut my way out of a xeno in-game, he claimed it's an intended feature and not a bug, both in-game and out of it. I will admit I was saltier than the dead sea at the time, and have used some profanity in describing the issue, but none directed at him until he butted in and acted very condescendingly towards me claiming, and I quote as best I can from memory, "Fire does not damage you until you step in it. It is not in the changelog and the devs say it's intentional." I the proceeded to call his statement a bad joke, using less expletives than I could have. I am very aware that my shitposting not only crosses the line, but uses it as a jumping rope, but I am personally disgusted that I get banned for somebody telling his unwanted commentary on a confirmed (by another active moderator at the time) bug and then not accepting some backtalk.

How you would punish the accused: I just wanna get unbanned, and he can stay a discord mod for as long as he desires. I want him to read the list of bugs on the GitHub (I think this was mentioned) until he realizes being a xeno main does not dictate what is a bug and what is a feature.

After watching this in the discord chat and talking with ExGame about this, I can confirm Clumsy is being both salty and completely misunderstanding these messages.

He'd originally been kicked for talking about starwars in the General chat, which was presumably only done after a discord mod noticed the message he'd posted, and Clumsy has taken this as ExGame kicking him because Clumsy wasn't listening to him. Now where Clumsy has absolutely fucked up is when he rejoined and began insulting ExGame in permissions requests, which was what got him the ban.

If you'd been relaxed, stayed calm, and realised that you can't just decide someone is joking, lying or being condescending to you because that's how you interpreted their god damn words typed out on an emotionless keyboard, this wouldn't have happened.

Firstly, If you are trying to get unbanned, without getting me punished, then you are in the wrong subforum, since you'd have to post in the unban appeals section and not the staff report section. Secondly, you haven't been banned for "using less expletives than you coould have", you got banned for shitposting in permissions-request right after you got kicked and re-joined accusing me of stroking my power boner and abusing my position AFTER I kicked you when you were using insults, calling me a little shit and telling me to get out of your sight. After giving you yet another warning you insisted to continue, that's where you got the ban.

I also don't know how you define "unwarranted commentary", as the discussions held in the CM discord aren't yours to claim, you don't get to choose who gets to participate or not. Whether or not it's a bug is irrelevant, how you acted on it is.

Now, like Karmac said, if you had been more composed and actually told me you meant it as a joke instead of jumping to the conclusion that I abuse my power I would have definitely given you your perms back, but not like this. I can't know what kind of intentions you have. You got kicked, banned and made a staff report in a matter of 30 minutes, I think you need some time to think, first.

What mod kicked me for star wars? Because I didn't suddenly start talking about it, it was one comment about originality. And I never denied my salt or confusion at his messages. I am just very very unsure as to why he butted in on the saltfest in the first place, or started ranting on about fire. A simple "Move this to either #off-topic or #shitposting" would have more than sufficed. I would like to talk to him and ask for an explanation as to why he felt the need to speak down to me, but I can't very well do that now.

I never deny my shitposting. I do however still think that you could have warned me to stop instead of jumping in with the fire nonsense.

I do not claim anything in the discord. I do still say that you felt the need to talk down to me for some inexplicable reason. And as you repeat constantly, I am still salty about a bug getting me killed, so please, stop blaming my actions that I already admitted being unwarranted.

I was not joking, I took your gibberish comments as a joke, and I have very clearly told you that whatever you were trying to communicate to me is neither funny nor original. What even was that about?

And I honestly just want to know why was this entire farce necessary. Why not just kick me for the first round of shitposts? Why not tell me to cool off instead of a forced segue into some manic allegory?

I went back and looked at ExGame’s comments on the Discord and did find the fire comment. It didn’t strike me as being condescending to any severe sense. Rather a statement of something similar to help build his point of the reverse-bursting being broken being a feature rather than a bug. Whether or not the point he was trying to make is serious or just a joke on ExGame’s part is largely irrelevant.

Nonetheless, what condescending nature might somehow be pulled from it isn’t what I would call unprofessional, and surely not warranting any part of the response you provided as a result. Rather than make a staff report then and there or attempt to talk to someone about what you consider to be condescending remarks, you come back with insults against the staff member that from what I can tell, even got non-staff telling you to chill and saying you’ll get yourself banned.

I see no reason to take action against ExGame at this point, and your ban seems pretty justified to me. Unless you’ve got evidence of him saying something I don’t, there’s nothing egregious to take action against here.

No action will be taken against ExGame. Your discord ban will stand. I highly recommend you wait to appeal, as any recent appeals will have the world's smallest likelihood of acceptance.
