For reference, temperature was -50c.
1.) Can't be built on ice or snow floors - needs to be metal tiles or plating. They absorb heat. When I tried it on the tiles next to the LZ, the temperature never rose above -48c.
2.) Can't be bordering ice walls of any kind without insulation, glass works. Without the glass, the temperature was stuck around -30c, regardless of number of heaters.
3.) You need to change the heaters default temperature, as by default it's 70 degrees Celsius. This is around 150f. You will overheat the area if you keep the default setting on.
4.) You can't have too many heaters in it at once, as it will raise the pressure - I've talked to staff about the pressure issue, they said it's fine if you know what you're doing and don't cause it. With four heaters, and everything properly insulated, the pressure started to raise to around 115kPa before I took two of the heaters out.
5.) You'll need a makeshift airlock to keep the heat in, the one in this picture worked but some windoors would probably work better along with this. Putting one of your heaters in the airlock to keep it warm, and let less heat from the main area escape, would probably be a good idea as well.
The picture only shows 5 degrees, but it was raising steadily, I just had to evac early due to IRL things - it was 15c at one point, but someone left both doors open. Windoors would have solved that problem, but I didn't have the materials or time for that. It'll allow for field hospitals on ice, as well as general comfort zones for marines, where they will not need to wear coifs, so for RP. A problem is that there's not a whole lot of inflatable walls, as each box of inflatables has 4 walls, 3 doors, but glass can also work, it just doesn't look as nice, and isn't as easy to take down in an emergency. Overall, it's a nice way to quickly setup an area on ice above ground that's not freezing - with only inflatable barriers and glass, it'll take around 3 minutes to setup, and 5 to fully heat up, and with more complex things like windoors, it'll take around 5 to setup.
