On a positive note(s)..

Post by Dorkkeli » 16 Apr 2018, 07:42

Was just skimming on ban appeals, and I noticed that not all too many people have em, mostly negatives.

Got intersted and wanted to ask if you would like to share if you have any, and in what context

I, for one, have one positive note (the only note, in addition to SL job ban for being SDD, which im currently appealing)

This is mine:

Positive Note: Helped with multikeyer case as MP. Multikeyer was also two different MP characters that was creating quite a ruckus. Did all what I asked which resulted in quick punishment of the offender. Thanks! by x(x) on Sun, February 18th of 2018

The only negative note I am aware that I have was accidentally shuffling a squadmate onto C4 and injuring him. I sadly do not have any positive notes yet, hope to get one at some point!

There is a ban appeals archive that shows the entire history of ban appeals approved or denied they're always a good read.
I have one note was a warning for spamming the text log with the defib turn on and turn off message.
And speaking as someone who actually deals with notes on occasion sometimes i can tell you that positive notes are EXTREMELY RARE, Usually notes are almost always either negative or neutral.
We generally only hand out those positive notes to truly exemplary players, I tend to give them out to players that ahelp alot of generally useful information for moderators and such, Like rule breaks and improper names and such.

Technicly all notes are positive. It means staff did their job.

Positive notes are rare because it is always easier to see when someone does something wrong then it is to see when someone does something right.

If you are perfect at following the rules and mediocre at gameplay you likely would never get a note because you wont be noticed. So a shoutout to all those pfc's who are the unknown heroes of cm.

Hey there!

Basically you rarely see positive notes because most of the burden of resolving server issues is on us - the staff team.

We don't give positive notes for good rp (but we remember ckeys worth rping with)
We don't give positive notes for robustness
We don't give positive notes for telling us about SSDs, but we are very thankful about such reporting. We don't do it because what you did is worthy but minimal.

The only thing that is left is when mod/admin is having issues which are easier resolved with player help. And if player actually helps and is being understanding quick and exact in his assistance, we might think about adding a positive note. Do understand that this is completely up to admin/mod and we can opt out of giving you a positive note even if you did something that earned other player it. Mostly related to amount of help done, work load of moderator and sometimes just mood

And yes, positive notes are super rare

Outmemed and captured a predator. Nothing really wrong with this, I'm just kind of impressed. by xxxx on Thu, September 22nd of 2016

I also have a million normal notes because I tend to put RP first....and I'm incredibly clumsy...especially now since the weapon changes.

You can get positive notes! LOL, well ill be darned, what about the "If your being messaged from the admin, youve done something wrong" sentiment? Well, getting one of those must be so hard to achieve, almost no one knows about them.
Max Dallas has been hit in the chest by the M40 HEDP grenade.

I will murder you Brittany Breeze

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

I got one for not shooting a griefer and yelled at Free until he came on to deal with him, I literally got a positive note for yelling at an admin.
