Yes, I do.
Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions?
The purpose of The Battlefield Execution is to allow the Commander or Admiral of a ship to secure the safety of the mission at hand by giving them the authority to execute any personnel under their commander, or anyone on the ship, if they feel that the person is a danger to the mission. The Battlefield Execution can be done without warning and has no formal procedure, leaving the Commander many options with how to preform it. After executing the individual, the Commander must state the reason why they were executed, and if the MPs have concerns they are free to contact high command. The Battlefield Execution can not be done on detained personnel unless it is impossible to preform standard execution procedures.
Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself?
Yes, I do.
What do you think is the job of a Commander?
The job of a Commander is act as the central figurehead for the marines and be the ultimate authority on all matters on the ship besides marine law. The Commander should delegate tasks to their subordinates and make sure concerns or requests go up the chain of command to prevent miscommunication and confusion. On the same token, the Commander should passively monitor their subordinates to ensure they are fulfilling their duties to an acceptable degree. The Commander should not, however, micromanage those under their command unless the situation warrants it as this can lead to frustration on both sides as a negative relationship is formed. The Commander also acts as a role model for all lower ranking personnel, but specifically for lower ranking command members and should try and guide them on leadership and tactics when possible. The Commander should take into account the advise of the other command staff to make a well informed decision instead of acting alone when making new orders.
If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?
I would start off with verbal judo and directly talk to the staff member in question and hear what their concerns with the orders are. After hearing their concerns I'd try to persuade them and address their concerns, giving a reason for the order in question. If at this point they still refuse to fulfill the order, I would then issue a direct order to them to obey the previous order and tell them they are to obey the order or face repercussions. If that fails, I would escalate to punitive measures and contact the WO to send Military Police to detain the staff in question for insubordination. If they become combative but not directly against me I would allow the Military Police to handle the issue. If they became combative directly against me and were attempting to physically harm me with malicious intentions and Military Police were not on scene, I would be forced to preform a Battlefield Execute as a last resort to preserve the mission stability. Of course, this can change with circumstance but that is my general escalation guidelines.
Why should you be whitelisted?
I should be whitelisted as I have plenty of experience as an XO, both as Acting Commander and under a Commander, as an SO, CMP, and occasionally as RO/SL. I understand the command structure and Marine Law and how to appropriately deal with common situations a commander will face. I try to actively engage in communications with my assigned squad and with command. As an SO or XO I try to take initiative and deliver reports and make sure things are running smoothly. I'm also not afraid to try something new to see if it will work and learn from the mistakes of that experiment. I'm also open to criticism and try to actively seek it after rounds as I see it as a good learning experience. I also make sure to roleplay with others and provide an interesting experience. My forum activity is admittedly sub-par but is increasing and while I may not reply to every thread, I definitely look over them.
