Not familiar but I seen the website a couple of times.
Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
Pm him (Ingame) asking what dd you do that for and notify a admin at the same time

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
Being a mentor I would notify the admins if I suspect it was intentional. Other than that, I would tell everyone to calm down incase Dchat is getting salty about the unfair result and let the higher heads aheal certain players.

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.

Ask him if hes new to the game via ingame PM and direct him accordingly.


4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
Professionally in a calm and cool manner to tell him to calm down and remind him should he continue and notify a admin about the player disrespecting.

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.

Direct him to the rules and tell him ignorance is no excuse and tell him to change his name.


6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
I'll keep an eye on him for it is a IC issue.

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
Ask him if he is new to the game and direct him to the rules. Then tell him to finish the surgery and put him in a stasis bag for the doctors to actually do surgery on him for the rp.

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
Ask an admin for permission to interfere to help the round continue if he accepts it I will send a message to the aliens to encourage them to fight.

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile CLF member and the CLF member Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
According to the rules of EORG I would tell him it's allowed because it's antags vs marines .

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
First few times could be a mistake but if his behavior continues like that I would pm him with a warning to stop if he escalates further or attempt to continue I would notify a admin im banning him for a reason

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Tell him thats improper escalation and he taken it too far. I would determine banning him depending on how many times hes been punch with the other marine being intent on killing him via logs.

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
Get on slack for a admin to come online and tell everyone to settle down in OOC and make notes of the rude players

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.

Remind him it's a IC issue and should take it too hard and may help him rp a bit by letting him know you can tell him to knock that shit off.


14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
Thats instantly a ban I would write down a note of the marine who killed multiple marines and then get on slack for a admin to come online if there hasn't been any to aheal any players killed.

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.


Ask him what you doing and let him explain himself. Remind him larvas are not to be on the frontlines and let him off with a warning should he have no previous notes of doing that.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Pm him telling him to stop.

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".

I would ping the xeno player that the situation is being handled and ping the other player that it's better to call the "dropship" something different.


18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.

Tell him marines have no knowledge of the xenos being on the planet and to mention something else as a accident.


19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
Tell him it was no excuse to shoot his fellow man and if it was a very tense situation let him off with a warning

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
Correct him on slack and give the proper information to the player or a better way to enforce a rule.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
Tell one of the managers or the host, co-host about it and make a report via the fourms.


21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.

Give him a warning to knock that off. Should he continue-BAN


Any additional information you'd like to add?Most of the situations I explained I tried to do through a perspective of a mentor since they do not have many admin powers of the game.

Anyway, decent app bit of a few problems though.

2. Don't really need to call up an admin if there isn't one, just seal the breach and aheal the ones affected UNLESS it's a pred bracer explosion or an event, in case of event you should notify the one who's managing the event.

7. Medics can't really do this anymore mechanically, however it's still powergaming, I'd check their notes for stuff related to powergaming and check if they were somehow a doctor which was given a squad medic demotion, in that case tell him to knock it off and figure out who demoted him to squad medic and have a little chat with them.

10. Don't really need to notify an admin for this one.

12. You could also, y'know, check if there are any admins currently online.

15. This is actually job-ban worthy, I'd just head straight to a job ban, it might also just have been an accident, such as them turning a corner and running right into marines.

with that said, Mods can Aheal and fix breaches fyi, 2-3 hours per week is pretty low though at least in my opinion.

Alright so here's my feedback on this app.

To be brief the problem with responding with these questions is that you've answered some of them from the POV of a mentor which is of course what your wanted with this app originally but now you're going for mod though some questions seem fine for a mod app so I'm just gonna respond to them as a mod.


1. You shouldn't really need to notify an admin, the marines have them detained so it's not like he's about to start gunning people down. As a mod you can handle this on yer own, could've been a misclick, could've been he was about to grief but got caught early, you just need the context and to check logs. From there make the call if they're free to go, get a warning or a ban.
2. As a mod you'll be able to deal with this, mods have access to the fix breach and fix air verbs aswell as aheal so just fix the breach, fix the air, aheal the players and check if there was any foul play involved by a player. However, if it's a pred explosions or an event then ask a higher up assuming they're still online if they want it fixed.
3. That's fine, as a mod you can handle teaching new players but we also have a fairly large list of mentors so you could just hand them off to one of the mentors.

5. That's fine, I know in some cases people have been granted permission such as Jeser who had the 2nd name Auschwitz or something similar and he got permission to use it from Apop so if they mention they've been given permission and have a note about it it's fine.

7. Shouldn't be able to anymore, when medics still could it was powergaming but the one way their mechanically be able to do surgery now is if there was an event going on so take this question with a pinch of salt. Rest of the answer is fine.
8. That's fine, I'd message both sides to go fight since aliens are just being delayliens but the marines also have 30 marines ready for combat so why not send them hunting.

10. You don't need to tell an admin when you're banning someone and recently we've been shutting down round start fuckery so take that info and do as you please. Remember to check notes aswell. Rest of the answer is fine.

13. That's fine, you could also SM the marine making the comments to watch how minor their comments are but you don't have to.
14. Mods can aheal players, check the offendors notes and scale ban time if needed. Might also be good to tell people via OOC the grief is being handled, normally when big spectacles like grief in briefing happens you'll get a fuck-ton of ahelps.

16. That's fine but place a note aswell since even if you're just telling them to stop you're warning them to stop, and warnings get notes.
17. Xenos are allowed to call things what they actually are, like calling the dropship a dropship, however it is encouraged that people use RP xeno words for things such as replacing dropship with metal-bird but it's not needed.
18. That's fine but remember, notes, warnings, bans.
19. This is one of those odd questions, I'd say it depends on how much RP was done, if the person just ran up and blew the other person's head off wordlessly then I'd say ban them for grief. But if there was a scuffle between them with some discussion and it ended one them dieing then leave them off, it's life or death possibly. Though that might just be me.
20. Just correct them ingame and get the opinions of other staff. If you have information on hand regarding it show it.
21. That's harsh, guess it depends on your own response though, I wouldn't mind it personally.

I'm gonna stay neutral, Recounted is an old player and should know the rules but the fact that the questions are so off due to it being filled out for a mentor app has muddled it.

Mmh... I'm just gonna say that you should just apply for mentorship, PM jerk and all that jazz.

It's good that you are trying out for the staff team and might have made this by mistake, but moderator and mentoring is two very different job.

I’d say we should give him a shot. Modding and mentoring aren’t that different in difficulty and you can still mentor as a mod. I’d say if you’d just make a new mod app so the answers aren’t borked.

We tend to have alot of mentors that move up to moderators and above.
NGGJamie was a goddamn mentor when i was a trialmod, He's since been a trail mod > Moderator > Trialmin > Senior Mentor > Moderator Manager.

Alright here is a edit for a couple of questions I wanted to redo;

Patch the breach up, make sure atmos levels are normal so no other weird air pressure happens make a OOC message to pm for aheals if you were affected by it.


11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
Check both marine history notes and pull up the fight stamps that occurred between the marines. Make sure everything checks out and then proceed to pm the other marine asking him what happened between the both of them that caused the fight. proceed further with the notes related to each marine for me to deal with the situation perfectly.

Instant ban no doubt, im sure that would be a 3 day ban off the top of my head for griefing and then logging. Write down the notes for what the player did and tell the players in OOC to message for a aheal.

Im assuming the xeno's are closing in on this. In ic the player is trying to save his life with so little time ieft and with no other space left he did in a way have a justified way as long as he didn't go overboard and shot him 14 times to make sure hes beyond revving.

respond to the adhelp telling the xeno he can call it a dropship if he wants but maybe correct him IC'ly but don't attempt forcing the other xeno player to say it however THEY want to say it. tell him if he thinks he is meta gaming just send another ahelp with a screenshot of what he did.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
Fill out a job ban application and compiling evidence with time stamps for how long he has been abusing them. Intervene and attempt to stop the admin from further ruining the game by making a RP situation out of it so any players affected by the admin can come back and enjoy the rest of the round.



21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
Laugh it off and ignore it afterward. He continues making the mom jokes more and more personal warn him to knock it off and not to get personal.

ehhh, not what i'd do. I'd check his attack logs to see if he really did kill any monkeys, then check the dead monkeys if he didn't, something killed 'em and seeing 7 of them dead at 0:30 would raise a couple of eyebrows.

All in all, this looks pretty good so i'll drop my +1 in, any flaws can be fixed in the trial period. Good luck have fun!
