Hey everyone, I know I don't play at all anymore nowadays. But I still often miss CMs, so I decided to just do something related to it.

making the top-down view of the ship was easy enough, since the outline of the ship is accessible on the wiki itself, I'll be working on the side-view of this respective image, and will probably be done in a few days if I keep procrastination to a minimum. I'd like to say that, seeing Manezinho's work with sprites was a real big inspiration for me to do this image. Hope you all like it! Feedback is always appreciated.I'll do my best to get that side-view of it up A.S.A.P. :heart:

I must also say that, as I was working on the ship's outer design, using the outline of the ship in-game that, I realize... "Man, this ship is really fucking impractical".

Alrighty, went ahead and just finished up the side view, after a period of bein' lazy. Hope you all like it, I'll also be dropping whatever random piece of spriting art below.

Important note:
The Almayer has one of those special "Bonnie" hats, people have been wanting on. Please implement them devs.

Looks pretty neat! Almayer does look pretty blocky, think you can do a side-view version?

The ship having such a blocky shape probably wouldn't matter in space, because there's so little drag. Nice diagram(?) gives a little bit more character to the ship than the normal map does.

Nice! It's kinda blocky, but that's not neccessarily a bad thing.

If you want help with this. You can message me considering I did make the almayer. There's also floors you don't actually get to see among stuff that was going to be put in game during the design phase that never made it in which is why some of the stuff seems rather odd. Like the two back sections that stick out. Those were originally going to be arms that stick out for point defense lasers. Which if you where going to only have a few you'd want them sticking out as far as possible because then you can have coverage overlap even though they're on different sides of the ship. Like I did alot of research and design work for the almayer. Although I wish my art skills were on par with nicboone's because then I would have done a recreation of the ship.

Really now? That sounds neat-o! I'll PM ya whenever I can, I'm at school atm, and have work training right after... I'm rather excited to being getting a potential look at scrapped content!

Edit: its just finally hit me what you meant by point-defense lasers, because I'm a slow dumb-o lol. and I must say, that sounds really fucking cool! Like the ones in Dead space right?

That was actually a point I was half-and-half on, I was planning on adding either the Colonial marines insignia, or the "U.S.S Almayer", on those side wing's behind the bridge. Decided not to... for whatever reason... I think it was something along the lines of "I wanted to give it a more blue-print-like feel" or some excuse to be lazy like that.

Also, the side-view is coming along nicely, should be done around sunday.

No its totally fine. Like it seems like you're busy with stuff, so sometimes it takes you some time to realize. Like I've been super busy in my personal life recently so I understand.

Also yes I would say like in dead space but the goal is more so to intercept incoming enemy missile warheads. I haven't played dead space in a while so I don't remember what you use the point defense lasers for in the game. But they'd be automated and slaved to the targeting systems which are connected to the radars. They'd mores look something like this.

I mean there's other parts of the ship you also don't get to see which is the actual fusion core and actual engines. Mainly those were cut out because of time constraints, preventing xenos from going into the self destruct room, and finally because it'd make it confusing which end of the ship was the front. Another thing that i wanted to put in was heat radiators, which would be essential for any long term space ship because in space you need to dump heat, but that's harder since there's no air to carry heat away. Which would have added a nice element of appearence to the ship and realism that I wanted.

Alrighty, side-view is posted. I included the "U.S.S. Almayer" name on it. so that I'm not auto-matically disqualified. Fuck you Lukey.

From this point on, I'll just be posting any assortment of random sprites. That is, if I feel like doin' somethin'. Again, feedback is always appreciated.
