Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?
As they should. With great power comes great responsibility.
Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions?
Yes, the whitelisted Commander may kill any crew member under their command if they feel they are a threat to the integrity of the mission without warning/procedure. (Except MPs/CMP) They must then announce why the individual was executed at the earliest convenience.
I would most likely typically avoid doing so unless there is a VERY good reason to do so, as it is much preferable to request the MPs detain someone to be hauled back home for a court-marshalling. I really would tend to shy away from the mindset of shoot first, ask questions later type commanders as I feel that fear is not a good motivator for the marines to win, and taking someone out of the round should only be done as a last resort.
Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself?
Should I be in violation of marine law, I would have no issue with the CMP removing me from command. Also, I am aware that I am not the one enforcing it, not that I’d want to anyway because who wants to be an MP.
What do you think is the job of a Commander?
The job of the Commander is to provide strategic command and leadership to the operation. You are the shining light in the darkness that all marines aspire to be. Also, you get a really cool beret.
The Commander typically must keep track of all the squads via the SOs and deliver clear and concise strategic orders to them. He will also inevitably be pulled into various issues around the ship, and in general be looked upon as the final say on matters. (Outside of High Command) While the XO can effectively do the same job (minus battlefield executions and medals), the Commander is typically more trusted, and marines are more likely to follow your orders. I also feel that it is the commander's job to add something to the round whether that be a break-up to the meta, or an interesting player-lead event to spice things up. You should also be available to answer questions, and provide instructions to fresh crew-members should the need arise.
If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?
1) I would first talk to the staff to clarify the order, and make sure it was not a misunderstanding; and if it was not, whether they have a reasonable disagreement with the order. I would also see if they have an alternate suggestion for course of action.
2) Should that continue, I would consider finding them an alternate task to do, and/or relieve them of duty.
3) Should they continue to be a general pain in the ass and be a threat to the operation, I might see about getting the MPs involved.
Do note that this heavily depends on the order, and its contribution to the integrity of the mission. Should I give an order based on outdated intelligence, I would fully expect someone with better eyes to give a correct update to the situation.
Why should you be whitelisted?
A majority of the time I am an SL main typically with either Charlie or Delta depending on how I feel that week, so I think I can provide a more head to the ground approach for command. I also have a very extensive knowledge of the meta, and could potentially bring some strategies that might shake it up. I also have extensive experience with every role on the Almayer aside from the MPs, and therefor can reliably know their capabilities. As for my experience with command staff roles, I typically play XO, or SO during the dead zone hours where command is sorely needed.
I typically play Aestel as a very aggressive squad-lead, and I think that would translate into a more maneuverable command with less static defense, and more moving pieces. My goal would be to make everyone on the ship have an enjoyable experience, and do my best to incorporate everyone into the operation.
