So far, Shane Black directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys, Edge, and Iron Man 3. He wrote a couple of good things before that too like lethal weapon, but I haven't seen all of those.

That's a clean record if I've ever seen one. I'm actually expecting a good movie from this guy.

Just watched the trailer. It looks dumb as fuck. We're not likely to get anything we'd want from it. Prolly won't be cannon in CM lore.

The only reason this comment exists is to express my deep distaste for this upcoming movie, which is immense in both size and magnitude.

So. I am going to start my speculations with observations from the trailer:

- Where did the Pred tech come from? The answer to that has a couple of potential answers:

* It is from the City Hunter Pred recovered by the government following Predator 2. (When the Preds arm was cut off by the smartdisc)

* Another Pred came to earth and was killed subsequently following the City Hunters hunt.

* A human archaeological team found a Yautja temple on earth and recovered the technology from there.

Those are the three most plausible options for the tech recovered. Now given my own opinions I think it is likely not the first option due to the fact that the "remote control" controlled a ship in orbit that looks different from the City Hunters ship.

So for the second two options. Either of which and, given the recepient of the package, it will likely end up that someone involved in the discovery/testing of the equipment wanted to steal it away for reasons and sends it to a young relative, knowing that the kid will likely think it a toy and nothing extraterrestrial.

OFC, government/company agents will try to recover the gear which is about the same time the Predator sent to recover the gear will arrive to find the agents breaking into the kids house and dispatch them all. Recovering bits of gear as it goes. (Maybe starting out with less weapons and equipping himself with the recovered items a la AVP style).

As for the comments on hybridization, I doubt this is targeted at the Predators. More likely Weyland (Or subsequently "Totally Not Weyland" corporation was experimenting on a recovered Yautja corpse ((where the tech was recovered in the first place)) and is trying to splice humans with Yautja DNA to create super soldiers.

Yadayadayada. Final fight between Yautja/Spliced Human and then either the Pred is killed by someone protecting little kid or this film breaks from tradition and the Pred survives taking the gear off planet.

Anyway. Just my thoughts on likely scenarios. Not saying this is what will happen but just my own trail of thought. Ignore this if you want. Who cares.

not really a fan of the trailer. I don't want to say it's going to be horrible or great as we just don't know very much. but from the trailer, I don't think it's going to be very good but I hope I am wrong as I have been watching the predator movies since I could walk. "not sure why my grandparents thought that was a good idea"
