Your appeal, including evidence (screenshots, etc): So I discovered CM a few days ago, and it's been really really fun so far. I've been picking it up okay-ish but I'm still learning. I uh, guess it's more serious than I thought it was at first but most of my rounds have been.. pretty lighthearted. Especially this one I got banned in. I guess I got the wrong idea from the start of the round because it started with a joke contest and a disarm mob over a gun in briefing. So I was in a pretty jokey mood. The round continues and things are going well, and I get facehugged and captured, which is fine because Xeno has been pretty enjoyable, and i'd even go so far as to call it my favorite. I go over to the queen after hatching and ask what to be, but she has to head off and fight. I'm still not sure how any of the jobs or caste balancing works so I didn't want to risk anything. So of course, I opt against evolving at all, and just shout "COMBAT LARVA" in hivechat before making my way to the battlefield, with complete silence from hivechat and the sentinels around me. I go and I don't actually want to fight fight because I assumed larva aren't good at fighting, so I just flank and dash in and out of vision of some marines, and get gunned down as other Xenos charge the position.

And then hivemind chat starts talking about it. I really didn't know it was that bad, but I could tell immediately it was by the reactions in deadchat and hivemind that it was, and I already regretted it. And that's about the whole situation. I really didn't think it was a huge deal but I guess it was. I dunno how to write a ban appeal since this is my first time, so I guess other than stating what happened I should make it really clear that it won't happen again. It was kinda dumb, and I'm kinda dumb, but I can learn and be better. Xeno's my favorite job on CM other than survivor (which I am also bad at) so I really hope this won't be the end of my time as one of HR Giger's fleshy abominations.

You say you just found out about it, but there's a note form May 2017. Whatever the case, assuming you just started playing I think this is too soon, even though you realise what you did wrong. I'd like to see you play a bit more before supporting this.

Do you know what roleplaying is? CM is a medium RP server. The gameplay you descibe in your appeal doesn't seem to be compatible with that. You're going to be in much more trouble if you don't fix that very fast.

Yes +1 because first offense, good appeal, understands the issue and 30 days is a long time.

You need to go over the server rules and roleplay guidelines, as long as you understand you should be remaining safe as a larva it should be fine to lift this appeal. You'll just continue to recieve punishments if you fail to follow the other server rules and guidelines though.

I'll definitely go over the rules heavily and familiarize myself with them. And oh shoot, I barely remember playing this before other than a few times hopping on and not knowing what was going on. I guess I fucked up back then too. Even more reason to strive not to mess up in the future.

Why do you have two bans for Alien? Are these the same bans or did the first one get lifted?

Both bans are on the same date, it's just the note or ban that was reapplied for the offense it seems?

It was a correction, I asked for it to be changed from suicide since I did it fully intending not to die, as dumb as that probably sounds.

Asking for a correction isn't too dumb; for staff your notes are a quick snapshot of your past and might affect punishments if they're related to the current incident (or if there are a ton of them). It's a bit confusing that there are two jobban notes on the same day, so maybe they should have just been both combined into one note. Even if it wasn't intended as a suicide, practically speaking that's what it turned out to be. You'd only been playing for 2-3 days, so I'm ok with forgiving you for not knowing that there's essentially no legitimate reason for a larva to run to where the fighting is. Any benefit from your presence would be vastly outweighed by the risks of dying and thus not being able to evolve into a useful xeno.

I must say, within a minute of you shouting "BATTLE LARVA", one sentinel did warn you over hivemind with "Careful, 381. Might you play too much I shall tell the queen mother you're a bad sister." Perhaps you missed it, or found it too abstract to understand?

You seem like a reasonable person in general, and as long as you properly read the rules, roleplay guidelines, marine law etc. (and avoid letting silliness carry you too far), I think you'll be able to avoid situations like this in the future. It should be fine to unjobban you.

As Ordukai says it's only been a very short amount of time since the ban, and you haven't played at all since the jobban in question. I would suggest playing a bit before appealing myself.

Though as you have already appealed for the jobban, I would say it isn't necessarily that bad to get this through. You understand what you did wrong and if you read the rules and have no more problems in the future I would say this might go well for you. Personally, I'm neutral on this as I want you to play a bit more before appealing, but 30 days is a long time when it comes to playing a major part of one side of CM when you are a new-ish player.

I am in favor of second chances but do not want to make it to easy. But everyone gets to make mistakes and there are people who only got a warning for this. I am ok with a lift.

Xeno will be lifted. if you're a larva, you should be in a location that you have pretty much no chance of dying. Don't do it again, now that you're aware of the consequences. Resolved - Xeno ban lifted.
