So yesterday I tried playing around as a researcher. I followed the wiki guide and was thinking "cool, I'll make some healing grenades!". But I was disappointed to find out you can't really get the protolathe anymore, at least not without getting something from the planet perhaps.
So I suppose the wiki should be updated to reflect that - the grenade section should be removed, and in the construction section all of the circuit boards you can't easily get should be either moved to a section of "things you can't currently build outside of events", or be clearly marked as disabled or something.
What do you think should be done here? Wanted to consult with someone before I start making larger edits...

Re: Cleaning up R&D
You can still make grenades, you just can't make "chem grenades" as they say on the wiki. Just take a sheet of metal and click it with your active hand and pick "grenade casing" which uses up 2 sheets of metal. It can fit 2 small beakers in it, anything larger would be somewhat of a waste since explosions don't get stronger the more units you use.
But I do agree that quite a few pages on the wiki should be updated / cleaned up / removed completely.

You can use large glass beakers (melt the surgical drills/order glass and metal from req) for 5x5 nades.

Okay, so if you can't make chem grenades, what can you make? Fire grenades? Since if I remember correctly, that chemical reaction required sulphuric acid, which I couldn't find or synthesise for the life of me...

Re: Cleaning up R&D
Last time I attempted to make a napalm grenade, it was complete trash. No matter how big of a beaker I used, the end result was a single tile, short lived flame. I'm not actually sure what chemistry mixed napalm is supposed to be used for - other than a fun science experiment.

Is there a way to extract the napthal from the flamer tanks? That might be a better bet than chemistry made napalm.CSolaris wrote: ↑08 Jun 2018, 17:29Last time I attempted to make a napalm grenade, it was complete trash. As far as I know, there’s no way to interact with flamer tanks other than filling it up at the welding fuel units.

I'm pretty sure you can make research grenades still.
I remember one researcher spending ages making pretty good nades and winning the round. Just regular splody nades.

Yeah should still be able to make research nades, get an igniter and timer from the autolathe in hangar, slap them together and put them on a nade casing with water and potassium beakers.
