On average, how many hours are you available per week to be a mentor? I do work a fulltime job but I feel like anytime I do not work I can be available to around 20 hours or so.
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? I used to tinker around with the code of SS13 and I understand how most of the moderation settings and tools do and how they work.
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? No this is my first and only colonial marine server in which I have played on.
What are the 3 biggest servers you play on besides CM? I used to play Baystation and Goon back in the day and there are a few servers I played on which I can't remember their server name at this point in time. I have been playing space station 13 for a while though. I created my account in 2009 and that's when I first started playing Space Station 13. There were a few long breaks in-between the time of 2009 and now which I stopped playing space station 13 but I have come back now and I am here to stay.
Provide links to any previous Colonial Marines applications that you've made: viewtopic.php?f=141&t=17600
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where?: Nope, colonial marines are the only server I have been playing on since my return a few months back.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? No.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on ANY server? If so, which server, when, and what for? Nope
Are you familiar with the chat program Slack (its use is required)? I have not used Slack before but I feel as though I can learn how to use it and what to do with it.
Why do you wish to become a mentor: I wish to become a mentor because I feel like there for sure is a lot of new players coming to colonial marines who don't have any previous knowledge about Space Station 13 and that Space Station 13 and colonial marines have a very LARGE learning curve and that a lot of new players might find this learning curve very daunting and might find this a turn off and might leave the server because of this. I want to be a person to help sit beside these people and teach them how to understand the basics of the game and where to go to learn how to do their roles and what steps to take to enjoy this community and what to do on the server. I understand that being a mentor means that I have to spend a lot of time out of my game time to teach people how to play the game and I understand this and I am willing to help new players in understanding the game and what to do when they are having issues. I feel like this community can retain many people when they have people to sit down and teach them how to with the game and retaining members definitely will help make the game a lot better because I feel the game is a lot better when you have more people to populate roles and understand these roles.
Thank you for taking the time to read my application. feedback is appreciated and I hope you all enjoy your day.
