Thoughts on new queen sprite?

Soo, we got a new queen sprite... I'm really skeptical about this, and I've seen a few people be like that in dchat too.

We're having descriptions ranging from "bad barber that cuts you a little too short" and "old vampire lady look", the shortened crest makes the queen look like plain silly. She looks like a rebellious teenage girl punk that cuts her hair short to fight against the norms and her parents. Not to mention that the ovipositor and charging sprites for the queen remain completely unchanged, which makes the queen look like she's going super sayian when she's running.

I don't mean to say that the spritework is bad, it's gorgeous, what the new spriters did to xenos is stunning, but maybe we should just keep the old queen sprite, at least for the design? What do you guys think?

Not a fan, its lowered the overall scare factor of the queen, looks like she has a malformed crest.

I don't like it. It's hideous, and her head crest looks so awkward. It kind of reminds me of a reverse Guile haircut.

What irks me most about the new sprite is the queen's neck, she looks like she has really bad posture or she is leaning in a window or something. The carrier sprite looks nice though, it sort of matches the defender sprite.

The single thing about the Carrier sprite to me is that it looks kinda faded. Does that make sense? The skin looks plastic, like it lacks the shiny sheen or the shading of some of the other castes.

Otherwise it's pretty adorable to have my "head-huggers" crawling all over my unique non copyright "Xenoforms".

Funny enough, I think in the second Alien movie, they refer to the Aliens as "a type of xenomorph", as in, "xenomorph" is a description of a whole class of alien life. This means there are other creatures out there, that similarly undergo metamorphosis, that the humans already know about before Aliens the movie...

The classic Xenomorph is Xenomorph XX121.
Xenomorph basically just means "Alien Form"
In the aliens universe they probably have all sorts of aliens classified as Xenomorphs.

Something I think that might be neat is the queen's crest growing with age. A young queen having a tiny crest makes sense, an ancient empress having a huge, imposing crest would give more of an "Oh fuck" factor when you see one. That said, the sprite doesn't look too bad to me, and if nobody would've pointed it out I wouldn't have noticed until I next played queen because it's still pretty terrifying to see.

To be quite honest, i had to play a few games and really look at the queen to notice the changed sprite, and when i did notice my thoughts were that it looked "softer".More "huggable" or "squishy"?

The previous sprite looked more aggressive and gave that impression too when it charged up and screeched etc.

Preferred the old one.
