The Corporate Liaison has to walk a fine line between obeying the law, and and breaking it. You have to bend it and break it in just the right ways not to get in trouble, or at least only to get in trouble when you're still ahead in the end. Now, when you have an okay Liaison in a round and the only MP around is a good CMP player, you've got yourself a tango. The CL trying to break a few rules to keep the CMP busy without getting arrested, the CMP trying to find a probable cause to search the CL, etc. If both of the players avoid powergaming and the CMP strictly follows the Marine Law, boy is it a tense dance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c8XLJ9MEhk .
Started the round with some usual CL tricks - leaving some Ultrazine bottles around, getting some gloves, making a lot of papers and distributing my Weyland-Yutani Corp. Scavenger Hunt pamphlets! I also handed out some booze to the Marines and it went as expected - I heard there were 4 Intoxication charges. Poor CMP Tess Greed having to clean up after this as the only MP in the round... On the plus side, with all of the arrests, she had less time to look at what I was up to. The CL takes the lead...
Some spec approached me about Ultrazine in the middle of Briefing, so I had to play it dumb until they got to my office. I gave them a pill bottle, but apparently it was ID locked. That changed the round. Now I had to retrieve the pill bottles and stash them so nobody could find them. Unfortunately, the Researcher seems to have gotten their hand on one of the bottles and was pretty vocal about them in the comms. I had to start covering my ass... Apparently the CMO was unable to open that pill bottle, so the Researcher gave it to me. I lied about not being able to open it either and throwing it away, while I stashed it along with the others (I lied so well the Researcher ahelped about it and I had to explain to the mod that indeed everything was fine and I was just bullshitting

Well, I was wrong. The only MT in the round, Pierce Jackson, did find my stash. Should worse come to worse, I could probably bullshit my way around this, saying that I tossed the bottle into disposals and they picked it up from there. Luckily, the CMP was busy with some survivors and arrests, so I managed to dodge that bullet.
One of the survivors was very hostile. They had some secrets about the colony that they only shared with the CMP and the XO. I was getting worried. Apparently he was a Master Corporal from a transport ship that has been shot down by WY PMCs. Not good. The CMP came out of the secret meeting rather furious wanting to search me under the pretext that I had a gun on me. I knew where this was heading - find any probable cause just so you can conduct a search and find what you are really looking for. Luckily, we had declared Code Blue about half an hour before and nobody called it off. CMP Tess Greed was not happy about that one bit, ready to maul me if it wasn't for the Marine Law. While I had nothing to hide on me, I was not searched. This is how you know someone is a great player, when they can appreciate such subtle power limitations in their play.
In the meantime, we had some Scavenger Hunt winners. Someone brought me a booze-o-mat which had to be fixed by the only MT, and someone else got some precious gems! I sent a few faxes about the situation, and even praised the MT to the High Command for actually doing his duty (even though the booze-o-mat was shooting alcoholic projectiles at me in the end).
Towards the end of the round, myself, the MT and CMP had a moment at the memorial. The things weren't going so great, but we did manage to have some connection and roleplay a bit. Then the xenos launched themselves at us and I hoped to hide in one of the maintenance tunnels, in a body bag, until the escape pods were activated. Unfortunately, I was lied to about them being activated, and then I got caught in the tight corridor between a Drone and a Runner. RIP me being eaten...
Eventually we got a distress call out. It was the CLF! Someone got in contact with them and they were bullshitting about "totally being here to save everyone". It didn't matter, as the CIC fell and everyone got murdered.
So, to CMP Tess Greed - you did a great job at playing your role. I'm sorry for the alcoholic grief, I think I'll have to skip that while you're in a round, because it's just getting ridiculous. To MT Pierce Jackson - you not only did great by keeping the whole ship running, but also finding enough time to roleplay around. Sorry I was planning on making you the fall guy!
And that's, ladies and gentleman, is how the CL tangos with the CMP!
