The future of CM?

Post by Rikman » 09 Jul 2018, 01:35

After the retirement of Apop, I have been thinking about the "new wave" of people. pretty much all my friends, like weaselburg have all but disappeared from the forums.

Do any of you have thoughts on this?
“Here is the wild Homo Sapien hunting its prey. The humanoids are pack hunters, using their shoddy armor as a pitiful defense against the towering Insecta. The human is quickly downed by the Insecta’s powerful slash. But, sheer numbers of humanoids rampage the abuser and Insecta is eventually burned to death, beaten, and dismembered.”

People come and go. People have real life to worry about. Don't be too worry and just keep having fun.

Although I have no qualification to talk, I believe that new people are becoming increasingly active, while people from older CM and some other people are being replaced. It is unfortunate, however, with new ideas from Rahl, some people dislike the way the server is going and decide they don't want to participate.

However, I only started playing six months or so ago, so I don't have the ability to talk about this topic. I'm fairly certain I'm wrong, so don't quote me here. Some people are just doing other things now, that's life.

I just feel shitty thinking about how some of my friends have disappeared into a wave of new people

And you felt the need to vent this on the forum.

You've been here six months and some change if your forum account is any indication. That is not a long time. People are going to come and go, and new players will find their way here, but what you absolutely should not do is complain about regulars taking a break and "all these new people." That's how this community functions. Don't take it out on new players, because first off, they've done nothing wrong, and second, people you met here will either keep playing the game regularly, or they'll take breaks, or they will never step foot here again for a variety of reasons you have no control over. What you do have control over is how you treat new players. If you're going to be toxic to them because they're not your usual suspects, then you're opening yourself to a world of hurt.

Don't get hung up on it.

And as far as this title goes, the future of CM or whatever? Anything is better than leaving Apop's greasy fat fingers on the wheel.

This purrson's got the right of it.
Also well said Westhybrid.

Under Rahl's leadership, I am actually looking forward to the future of CM.

Its the new breed of people. Nothing to worry about, you already replaced most of the people who first played in 2015 and its happening again. Go play other games with your friends instead.

Gonna just echo the sentiment by everyone else here. People just come and go, not much you can do about it. If someone isn't having fun in their 2d spessmans game and they wanna leave, they'll leave.

Doesn’t matter what game it is, every community has people who come and go.

Some of the best guys I know I met on CM man. Biolock, Smokey, Radiant, Jay, Kiro, and even Infernus even though I didn’t know him that well. And these are only the people who don’t really play anymore.

As states above, come back in three years to make this post if this game even still exists
