Marine morale improvement research
Over the years marines and soldiers across fields have suffered depression and extreme loss of morale during the time they spend in service.
With marines being the focus of this study, we have noted that they often resort to heavy drinking and general disobedience to deal with stress while their commanders often resort to drinking and insults to help with theirs. The maintenance crew often steal shit and drink until their livers burst. The doctors dismember and smoke while operating and the pilots suffer mental regression due to how dull their job is. The MP baton people because they feel unwanted and cargo becomes less and less productive. The only one who is immune to this is the ship's synth for obvious reasons they cannot suffer a morale shock.
This research is targeted to attempt to combat the damage that morale loss can do. For that I have come up with a couple of ways so that need to be tested. Without the use of addictive drugs and dangerous anti depressants.
These are, Headpats and Hugs. I will begin testing the reactions to this as a case by case study and each page will be dedicated that perticular persons reactions.

Seth Bynum seems to be suffering with PTSD after the combat drop. The alien contact has shaken him. The gas attacks and the spit made him rather uneasy.
Headpats made him feel better and the hug made him feel "100%" and "ready to kill a dino."
Promising results for the moral improvement experiment. I shall continue, maybe an MP this time.

Headpats seem to have a good effect to him. He's flexing and feels the best.
Hugs are even better. The results are grand! In fact this results are incredible it is as if Mark has acceded to a higher plain of existence!

Seems to be down after watching the marines being retarded. Seems like this one is self aware! Friendly fire and watching his smart gunner take point. All while tossing the pin of the nades. He's not happy either way.
Headpats show no re- no wait. He's asked for another headpat! he looked better and has a smile now.
The hug seems to have nearly got me killed.... my spine still hurts he seems to have jumped into the hug and then proceeded to crush me with his bearhug.

He appears to look down before deployment. Just before he was last frozen his brother died and was stationed on another ship. Cause of death is rumors to be abuse from the MPs, but those are rumors.
The headpat shows a little bit of assistance to combat the depression but the marine is feeling like it was condersending for the situation.
The hug had far more success. The marine felt better after the hug was deployed.
Side note: the marine now feels like he should track down the MPs who killed his brother instead of feeling sad. At least the marine has a goal now instead of depression.

She seems to be demoralized due to the ground operation almost killing her and the feeling like she signed up for the wrong job. She was expecting CLF and not 'lizards'.
The loses groundside has also affected her. Her headset is not really helping.
The headpat seems to have confused her at first but some results were to be had. She seems to think i might be patronising her however. The hug had better results but overall, she believes that she might need therapy after this.
Note: She managed to consume a whole chunkbar in one massive mouthful. This raises two things. 1) How big is that mouth... and 2) Could chocolate be added to this experiment..?

She shows suicidal tenancies. She seems hacked off with the cell she's perma brigged in and requests something to keep her company. She seems to be getting flashed an awful lot...
She was arrested for taking apart some of the ship... some racks and tables... then she ran from the MP's poor taser aim.
She's requesting anti depressants which I'm trying to avoid giving her but she's insistent on taking them...She seems to be attached to the precaution she has set up, she seems to have allowed herself to be perma brigged.
The drawings in her cell seem to be standard marine doodles. She's all pinned up on the law however, destruction of the ship for taking apart some racking and the likes. She really seems to dislike the abuse the MPs have hurled at her.
Nightingale has a vast amounts of smarts and seems to know alot about engineering and anti depressants. I'm going to attempt to work out HOW she can know so much as a cargo tech.
She has two more drawings... they are awful... not art wise but the darkness inside them... is horrifying... this woman needs some help.
So the headpat failed to please and cheer her up. Being a stranger is not helping, same with the hugs, I was pushed away. Maybe this is an extreme case that might need me to stay alongside her and monitor. After she can trust me this can work a little easier... but for now anti depressants might be her only salvation. It is a pity I have seen someone so far gone into a state of... depression and I truly feel sorry for her.

Darkness shadows around the center, illuminated spot of the room where a body hangs from a makeshift noose. The face is shadowed out, though it's clearly be a long haired woman. They'd wear prison garb by the looks, and nothing else of interest is shown.)

Tofu is not a healthy diet for one to consume alone.
The effects of the soy inside can actually leech minerals from the body that will affect many parts of the body. What is worse is the hormonal effect that soy has on the body. Eg. men can lactate and women can become hysterical very easily with a reduced fertility rate.
This is a bad thing to eat with a balanced diet but alone can be seriously bad for one's health.

He came to me sweating literal buckets and was a walking wet floor hazard.
He seems to be stressed over something in the past. After asking him about it, he told me that he arrested someone for sexual harassment a while back but he also committed the crime. He claims the perp nibbled the victim and then he lied about something to gain consent while he also nibbled the victim.
The stress comes from the awful feeling coming from committing the crime. He found a stolen suppressor and to return it he would have to nibble the RO (Gloria Locklear). She consented thinking it was part of standard procedure. Of course it was a lie.
However Thomas seems to have wanted to talk with her but she brushed him off until recently... If it's love, then that's fucking disgusting. But it's also possible that Gloria the victim might just happen to stove his head in...
Anyway. The headpat i gave him made to stop sweating constantly and the hug revitalized him. He's now off to cargo to meet with the RO for a quick nibble. One wonders how he nibbled her, was it in a cute way? lovey dovey way? In a (sweat is blotching the ink on the paper) -xy way? infac- I should stop with the- thoughts h-

He seems to be having trouble trying to tell if he's doing the right thing. During this operation he was brigged for trying to sort out an insubordinate squad mate who wanted to join another squad by dragging him into the correct shuttle. Needless to say his appeal was denied by the CMP and they were not very much interested in what he had to say. Due to the brigging, he feels as if he has done wrong and feels excessively guilty over something he thought he was doing the right thing in.
The headpat left him speechless for a good twenty seconds until he took off his helmet and asked for another. Good results! And a lot of insight! Gerard Rogust said, "I think the effect is modest, but is more impactful without a helmet."
The hug however was a lot more effective however than the pat according to him.
He left knowing that I personally agreed with his decision but that the military has different thoughts on the matter. While feeling better I could tell he still felt like he was not given proper justice or a chance to explain himself.

She seems to have a form of combat fright, she seems very distressed about the comm chatter even though she hasn't deployed yet. She refers to the incident as if there was a squirrel was making sounds while its guts are spilling out. Like someone who was trapped in a bush (naked) with thorns calling for help, her instinct is telling her to either run in and help or run away so she cannot hear it any more. The imagination leads me to fear that she's a little too easy to affect when it comes to morale shocks but she surprised me with how resilient she is.
She also refers to a marine called 'George' and is talking to him over the radio.
She notes that she has had these sorts of nightmares before but she seems stable enough to get on with the operation. This might explain why she's rather resilient over the matter but she doesn't seem to be willing to tell me more about this, preferring to have a group to tell it to.
The headpat came of as slightly demeaning to her but she also felt slight relef, the hug was described as the miracle cure apparently. She was very honest about her opinion on the matter, she agreed to come by later for a possible group session as she felt a little disappointed that there wasn't one.
She left feeling better having talked about it and she also mentioned talking to the other squadies about any personal issues she might have to try and get mutual support from her team. She did however seem a little clingy and asked for a little bit extra for the trip. Refering to drugs of course, so being the anti drug person I am, I gave her a small pill of sugar to help her as a placebo.

He needs serious off ship help or a collection of... scratch that, help is what he needs the most of.

Both of these marines were wounded, partly by friendly fire but most of this was from the hostiles. From what I understand is that both of these dragged themselves towards help and evacuation and have no real desire to head down again. If I had more time and a red alert was not called I would have worked towards separating their problems, working on them and then conducted the experiment with them. A damn shame really. I've invited them all back to continue this but after seeing how Toscana acted I doubt they'd return.
A Thank you to all that have helped me with this endeavor of mass memery and I'll think about drawing Elizabeth's images one day, just not now (still waiting on this shit). I'll continue this gag whenever I play researcher and boy oh boy have I got to try this on a commander and Jack 'THE LAW' Knight, (who LOOC'd the possible arrest of myself for sexual assault while I was in perma brig.) One only hopes I can survive long enough to publish most of the ships reaction to a headpat!
