Sometimes I ask myself a question what even happened before we arrived?
Feel free to leave your opinion here, I'd be more than happy to read it.
For example on Prison,
from my point of view a WY experiment went wrong, a xenomorph outbreak happened and the entire station was wiped out one by one, Warden managed to send a distress beacon and left his final note in his office.
Last survivors were holding off the xenomorphs at the Crashed ship (who knows how the ship even got there)
Or on Ice,
I think that the big crashed ship has something to do with Predators, possibly it was a Yautja scout ship that was shot down a long time ago and released the Xenomorphs in the caves.
What are your opinions on this?
What is the story behind the maps?
What actually happened before Marines arrived?

Re: What actually happened before Marines arrived?
Big-Red
W-Y knew about the existence of the Xenomorphs and decided to establish an entire colony for its research, the Research and Lambda labs were doing this research, perhaps secretly from other civilians, until a breakout happened at Research (you can see some of those "xenomorph tubes" at Research are broken).
The xenos wiped out everyone at Research, probably Security was called and the Xenos had to leave Research to Lambda via the cave system - a combat happened and the scientists at Lambda and Security got killed, then the Xenos did spread in the colony killing everyone else, I really think not everyone knew about the existence of this outbreak/fighting because the corpses of the colonists could be seen in their workplaces/recreation areas.

Re: What actually happened before Marines arrived?
LV-624
The colonists had begun mining on the northern caverns and broke open an established xeno hive, the xenos were then let loose and went rampant, slaughtering everyone on the colony. The scientists in the research dome were facehugged and eventually they bursted, hence the burst corpses.
A lone liaison on the colony had a final holdout in the locked corporate dome, refusing any other colonists entry. They were killed by xenos, their corpse being surrounded by money.

Re: What actually happened before Marines arrived?
You can find a note of prison's crashed ship that explains everything.
That ship belongs to a group of mercs who decided to free one of their comrades from the prison, so they boarded it, using a special ship meant for breaching spacecraft hull. The benos probably managed to escape during the fight between the mercs and station's redshirts.

Re: What actually happened before Marines arrived?
LV-624
Mining efforts on the colony resulted in researchers finding xenomorph specimens. W-Y kept this secret from the rest of the colony as the research dome was kept secured for said research. Eventually a containment breach occurred, the researchers being infected and spawning the xenomorph threat. Eventually they were overwhelmed, calling in aid from one of W-Y's secretly contracted mercenary groups (explaining the crashed shuttle) however due to the turbulent weather on the planet the vessel crashed in the cave system, where the surviving mercenaries made their final stand. Meanwhile, the Corporate Liaison for the company, either overwhelmed with guilt or fear, committed suicide in the locked down corporate dome, more than likely because he knew that if anyone responded to his distress signal it'd be W-Y mercenaries, and the company would "liquidate" their assets, including him, to prevent knowledge of the xenomorphs. With what the xenos knew of the colony dead and gone, they migrated back to their hive in the caves and entered hibernation until the survivors started moving...and the Marines arrived.
Ice Colony
Researchers on an archaeological research colony found a crashed Yautja vessel containing xenomorph specimens to propagate their hunt, long forgotten by all but the Yautja themselves. Following their research of the vessel, bringing back specimens to their labs for further study, a containment breach occurred first either on the lab or on the ship, followed with the other being breached in the ensuing chaos. As security desperately made a last stand, they sent out a distress signal, before succumbing to the xenomorph threat. Due to the harsh environment the xenomorphs would seek shelter underground in the complex, entering hibernation until their next meal would come...and then the Marines arrived.
Ice Colony may even be the origin of W-Y's discovery of both the Yautja and the Xenomorphs, as they may have managed to move specimens off-world, potentially to the Prison facility for testing?
Big Red
The planet had been host to the Yuatja for centuries (explaining the Yautja artifacts there and the Yautja area) for use in the honorable hunt of the xenomorphs. Eventually humanity would settle the planet, W-Y founding one of their many research facilities there. While the Yautja remained in the shadows, it was only a matter of time until W-Y discovered the xenomorphs there. Or, alternatively, specimens secured from Ice Colony before the disaster there were moved here for study, and the abandoned Yautja hunting grounds that had dried up were returned to as the Yautja were following the W-Y vessel(s) operating with xenomorphs on board as explained in the Aliens comics. As testing was being conducted on the specimens, they broke containment after some specimens were removed from the planet, enraging the hive and triggering the violence. And as security desperately attempted to defend the facility, failing, they sent out a distress signal. As the colony fell, the xenomorphs retreated to the cave system under constant threat from the Yautja, entering hibernation...until the Marines arrive.
Prison
W-Y has a large array of their privately owned and operated detention centers, much like most prison in the West today, ripe with prisoners. As priority was given to the xenomorph weapons research project, they began testing on the prisoners. However, a mercenary band of pirates, wanting to free a convict, utilized an assault boat much like the old vessels used by the USCM for naval (space) combat to gain access to the prison complex. In the ensuing chaos of the fire fight between the station security and the mercenaries, the xenomorph specimens broke containment, finishing off the two weakened sides due to their fighting, before then finishing off the prison itself. As this occurred, the head of security made a desperate last stand before sending out a distress beacon. As the station lay dormant, the xenomorphs waiting for their meal...something woke them up. And that something wore the insignia of the United States Colonial Marine Corps.
If I have to make a timeline of this, I'd say it went Ice Colony (discovery, testing, specimens go off-world, containment breach), LV-624 (second discovery and development for weapon project, testing, specimens go off-world, containment breach), Big Red (discovery/or specimens shipped, testing, specimens moved off-world, containment breach), and then Prison (specimens imported, testing, mercenary attack, containment breach).
What do you guys think?
