Marine Name (so we know who you are; if you play alien mostly, state that here): Alex Rossfield
Name/Designation of the Synth Character you’re requesting to use (Follows common naming rules, and requires a first name with no last name): Luke
Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines (http://cm-ss13.com/viewtop ... 57&t=14417)?
Yes, there are only a few main things to remember for being a synthetic player that are inherently obvious.
1. Always obey a command figure by order of rank unless it breaks marine law or goes against self-preservation protocols.
2. Be competent in all roles to quickly swap tasks if ordered by a superior.
3. You need permission from each head of a department to do tasks in their selected work-area.
4. Threats that are not pertained-to in marine law can be detained or killed if need be.
5. Never break marine law as a synthetic

Location: USS Almayer, [Redacted] Sector, Date: [Redacted], XX 21XX… 12:00
Awakening inside of his cryogenic storage pod, Luke began to slowly look around, testing his body’s motor functions as it continued the defrosting process. A short diagnostic test indicated his body was functioning at 99.9% capacity. Soon to return to one hundred percent upon leaving the enclosed space of the pod.
In the short few seconds, he spent waiting for the pod to unlock his mind wandered through the notion of discomfort many humans feel at being stuck inside an enclosed space. Though feeling no negative feedback himself, his logic processors easily simulated the reasoning behind many people’s fears of being trapped in a cryogenic pod.

Upon ensuring his pod was closed and secured Luke stood up straight and took a sweep of his surroundings. His height at exactly six foot, he was designed after a popular male model with slicked back hair and only a slightly tanned skin tone, reminiscent of someone from the old Mediterranean area in Europe from Earth. Beginning to walk up and down the dimly lit cryogenic storage bay, the soft hum of the pods was the only sound save for the rhythmic footsteps of Luke’s shoes on the hardened steel floor. His task as a synthetic was to ensure the USS Almayer was fully operational and fit for the upcoming operation before the marines would be defrosted. This was the proper procedure of all operations he had been assigned to previously and this would run the same.
Speaking to ARES for a few minutes Luke confirmed the ship was indeed operational, their destination was correct, and no hostile ships in the area could be located. Only thing nearby was a few trading ships according to scans and once done, he set about the defrosting procedures and routing a course to orbit the nearby planet. A pleasant half-smile adorned on his face as he began checking on the defrosting procedures of the cryogenic pods nearby, making sure all of command would be prepared for the upcoming mission within the hour took some time. The operation to clear out a CLF stronghold on the planet LV-736 while keeping a lookout for hostile ships in the area. The potential for the UPP to be funding the CLF was there and he was ordered by USCM High Command along with the Commander to keep an eye out for any potential cold-war hostilities.

At the CIC, all overwatch consoles appear to be manned while the commander sits in their advantaged position, at the center of it all. Commander Williams, the one in charge of this operation sat giving an announcement. His Lieutenant Commander a Ms. Rose, an up and coming commander on board the Almayer who was praised for her strategies and tactical genius, was sitting down. They were currently overviewing the video feed obtained through a few quick reconnaissance runs over the colony in the Normandy nearby the suspected position. It appeared she was attempting to pinpoint the location of the CLF base before the briefing, something most likely tasked to her by the commander.
“…get geared up and prepared to assault as soon as we have located the enemy base, suppressors are advised for this operation and for gods sakes make sure to bring your helmets. The USCM didn’t pay for cameras on those for nothing marines.”
Speaking up as Luke had re-entered the CIC after checking in on medical and engineering, the commander, seeing Luke out of the corner of his eye turned to listen to his report, “Medical and Engineering are at 80% capacity, although a few marines have already ignored your orders and are not wearing helmets. Though upon seeing your handsome visage and heavenly voice at briefing will surely change their mind when it comes to following your orders.” Letting out a laugh at the thought the commander smiled and waved off the compliment, something he has grown rather used to the randomness of them before replying, “These damn penal colony marines couldn’t understand basic orders if it hit them in the face.” Turning to look at the Lieutenant commander, Williams asked, “Have you found their base of operations, on the video feed yet?”
With a small jump, the executive officer responds while turning away from the video feed, “Almost done with pinpointing the enemy base along with potential landing zones for the recon mission and assault.” Turning to Luke she issues a quick order, “Synth, go check the repairs on the Normandy, those damn engineers probably broke something else trying to repair it after that AA rocket grazed the side.”
“I will check it out immediately ma’am though might I say your eyes look beautiful today.” The executive officer seemed to get slightly annoyed at the compliment, possibly seen as bothersome. Heading out of the CIC Luke heard the Executive officer say to the commander, “Always so creepy to have that thing hit on me with that creepy smile…”

Briefing. The most inspirational time of any marine’s day, orders were given out and squad assignments were delegated. This came in-turn with the pleasant news of what the operation would be, and the purpose of their deployment. A few marines held smiles at the news of their orders, seemingly happy they could go out and kill CLF on the colony.
“…Alpha will be scouting squad…” The commander continued to give his briefing, informing the marines of his strategy on attacking the CLF base with minimal casualties if the strategy was followed.
Looking over to the lieutenant of Bravo squad, a Sir Denholm, Luke couldn’t help but address him during briefing to inform him of his task, assisting bravo squad on fortifying the FoB against any potential hostiles and that he would be in communications with the lieutenant if anything needed to be done ground side.
“As I will be handling the building with the engineers, would it be fine for you to handle the supply drops with your squad leader? I’m sure requisitions would prefer your lovely voice over mine any day when it comes to ordering supplies.” Luke asks with a soft tone.
Replying to his concerns Lieutenant Denholm replies, “Yes well, uhh… m-my voice? Ahem… Alright, in any case. Yes, that works perfectly fine for me. Just make sure my Marines don’t get stuck in any barbed wire. Okay?”
Nodding Luke responds, “I’ll make sure anyone falling back has a safe and secure location, we don’t want to lose any marine if they manage to get wounded. I have also been tasked to assist in medical aid if I am required before heading back topside when construction ceases.”
Quieting down Luke listens to the rest of the briefing, his attention on the marines still whispering amongst themselves, with a few of them dozed off a bit. In the end, the squad leaders at the very least seemed to listen to the commander.
With briefing over Luke introduced himself to the Bravo Squad Leader Mudder, “My what a beautiful beard you have Mr. Mudder, and as you have heard I’ve been assigned to assist your squad in setting up the landing zone FoB, are there any special instructions you require of me?”
“No, just stick near the engineers and help them however, also if you compliment me like you usually do I swear I will break your hand. I’m tired of my marines making jokes that I’m gay.” replied the man in a gruff voice, walking off without even looking at the synthetic.
…. Operation time 14:00
The sound of the Alamo docking could be heard as Luke finished working on his most recent patient, according to communications Alpha squad was ambushed by CLF and after returning fire, managed to take them out. Though several marines were wounded and had to fall back. Luke was ordered to assist medical and after checking in with the CMO for permission, was assigned to an operating room. Having already worked on several patients he went to work on the next marine in his queue, picking a young woman from the recently wounded Alpha marines.
A ‘Laura Redburn,’ after putting them in the body scanner he notices a bit of damage to their heart and lungs, most likely caused by the defibrillator and shrapnel in their chest. They shudder from the pain of trying to take a breath while their lung is still popped groaning out the question, “H-hey doc what’s… what’s wrong with me? Am I going to be alright?”
Quickly moving them to the surgery bed, Luke starts to put on their anesthetic mask all the while replying, “You’ll be out for just a few private Redburn, though whatever man hurt your heart deserves a talking to, no pretty girl such as yourself should have to suffer such a thing. Your chance of survival went up dramatically as soon as you made it onto the Alamo.”
Turning on the anesthetic to knock out the young woman the shutters close with a loud bang. Luke immediately starts to work after a quick cleaning of his gloves and lab coat, using precise movements to operate on the young private his hands moving deftly to finish the operation as soon as possible so he may get to the next patient. Still wearing the same handsome smile as he does during most of the day, the most of the operation, was the same handsome smile he always had, unchanging during most of the operation unless those around
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
My plan as a synthetic player is to act as a sort of suave/flirty quirk. A synthetic who, when addressing or being addressed by someone, finds any sort of detail to complement them on. Trying to appear human by getting closer to humans through complements of sorts. Though overall has no other care about them but to make them act friendly towards it.
I initially planned to make it so Luke would compliment everyone, but I then realized I would never get anything done if trying to do my quirk towards every single person I saw. This changing to a general friendly synth who complements those he addresses.
I honestly don’t plan to focus on any specific support roles as I know them all rather well and can competently play every role required of a synthetic player. Though my strongsuits are engineering, medical, and overwatch.
Engineering is simple when it comes to tasks required of them in a day to day round while medical is mostly busywork. Overwatch is just communication and guiding marines around on the operation.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
Very familiar with almost every single role. I have completely memorized all medically related procedures, research doesn’t very well exist, to be honest, SO is simple considering I have CO whitelist, Engineering is a bit difficult when it comes to obscure things I may have to build but overall know the role very well. Tank, I can drive -okay- but obviously cannot gun it at all, considering I have seen many synths be tasked with driving the tank when one TC dies. The pilot role is honestly the easiest job to do along with requisitions.
Why should we whitelist you?
As someone who must vote on whitelist applications, I believe I can add to the current set of whitelisted individuals and create a more positive roleplay experience when it deals with playing on the server. I also know how often synthetic job slots are taken and it’s typically dependent on the time of day. Though I may not go the job too often, to be honest as if there are no moderators on I would rather focus on my job as staff for the good of the server than run around roleplaying.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
No, I have no notes, nor have I been banned.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
No
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
I understand.
