Why did you choose to mainly play in your specific Squad?

Post by Socket » 10 Aug 2018, 08:37

Outside of grabbing an irl friend and saying, "Lemme show you this." I am not so sure why I would use the feature of squad preference.

When you start to play a lot, you make friends. Maybe your friends are in Bravo, and you want to hang out with them because you know that they won't ff you to death normally. So you use squad pref.

Alpha and bravo imo are just kind of there. Whenever i am put in one of those 2 squads I just kinda get bored a lot of the time, because nothing really happens. Meanwhile with delta and Charlie, i feel like there is always SOMETHING going on to make your situation interesting. Just my point of view though.

I like not knowing the members of my squad, makes everything unpredictable instead of the same old constant fights and memes that would come from delta. Plus the lack of elitism that comes from charlie.

Hitting that "No squad preference" button was the greatest decision I have ever made in this game.

Yep, from the start.

You start getting yourself attached to a puppy and being around it all the time, its start to get annoying.

You stick with a squad long enough, the friends you thought you made, are now your enemies.

It really does flip that easily on you, possibly even destroying a character reputation.

Its your choice, but entropy and chaos is your friend, order and patterns will destroy you.

To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

I play as Delta because they have the highest likelyhood of actually trying to save other marines. Alpha typically runs and abandons wounded from what I've seen and it's a crapshoot with Bravo about if they put in the effort or not... Usually if you're wearing yellow they'll grab your corpse, but if there's three bravos and they find you and a bravo dead, one will grab the bravo and the other two will ignore your existence half the time. Charlie's pretty good at it and I might actually switch over to them at some point.

i didn't actually choose i was captured and forced into playing a squad

I like to play with no squad preference because I have a good amount of buds in every squad but Delta and Alpha seem to have more of them than Charlie and Bravo do, so I'll play with them more often

Come on, do i really have to explain this to you? No ones got a gun to your head, your not forced into any squadron unless YOU yourself makes that the case, no one else.
Im telling you right now, it doesnt matter whether you play the EXACT character you invented all the time, there will be a time where your friends will be your enemies, whether you like it or not, it will happen.Whether because of disagreement or possibly one gets the other killed or all the other numerous scenarios, it will happen.I guarantee you that.

Dont believe me, create a character if you havnt already, keep playing it and you will eventually see that your not the character you once were and a byproduct of that is people will not want to be around you.

Test it and come back and tell me im wrong, but i dont think you will.

The environment WILL eventually in all cases FORCE you to change your personality. You wont even realize it has happened until your not that same character anymore.

And no, characters like Avalanchee wont get hated because hes a delta queen, but because of the antics generally will get old and stale.C(arse)son is one example.

It happens to almost everyone and everything mate.

Hold still, this wont hurt abit.

At first, I got bored as shit by getting randomly put into alpha/bravo and ending up with FOB duty way too often. Meanwhile, delta allways got scout duty, and "muh delta major" Back when delta/suicide pushes actually worked before the new aliens. Now I stick to delta because of memes, people actually risking their lives for each other and generally having good regulars. I dont trust alpha because 1) lots of FF 2) bald medics 3) lots of cowards not looking out for each other. Bravo is just bravo, fucking boring squad, and has also the same issues as alpha but with somewhat less intensity. Charlie is pretty much the only squad besides delta that I like, even if I dont show it in IC. Good regulars and SL's. While also having some weaknesses, they are a lot better than alpha and bravo combined.

Sure even delta has alot of weaknesses and in recent times, some very bald SL's. But I guess every squad lives or dies with it's SL/SO. Personally, I think delta just got alot weaker because of the meta shift that happend scince the alien changes (pre nerf prae for example, shit was broken as fuck), delta flanks/charges dont work that well anymore. But thats just the way it is I guess. I'll stick to delta. Once blue, always blue.

i alternate between 3 characters so the only squad I don't regularly play in is charlie

my preference is bravo because it's color matches the hair of my favourite character and it has some nice people in it

the other squads aren't really bad but i do dislike all the new players that wanna be known as the "elites" out the gate or as I call them "elite baldies". They get the misconception that delta squad is the best squad and seem to all flock to it. I noticed that it's been happening a lot lately with completely new faces popping up and already having a callsign and acting all robust then getting tilted by a young runner.

Base on my observation most new players act that they are already good and trying to discriminate old players which is more better at them. I mostly hate those baldies in Delta squad trying to look down the other squads but we can't do anything at all.

All my old friends left alpha, and then I could't trust them anymore so I went elsewhere. I also like knowing at-least one of my squad mates will try to save me in Charlie plus they put up with my shit.

I had a metabuddy when i first started playing, they told me to pick bravo. I just stuck to it because i didn't care much, only just recently have i started caring about staying in bravo because a few competent people have decided to main it. So i'm not completely alone in that regard.

Just don't put me in alpha, i'd preferably skip charlie too.
I play "Mudder Plantagenet" and that's it, no fancy quotes or anything.
