• Yes, I fully understand that any player can have their whitelist status revoked. Rules are for everyone, commanders, admins, what have you, not just your average player. And not only that, but I expect for my (hypothetical, of course) whitelist to be revoked if I break the Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines.

Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions?

• Quite extensively, but only from the bad end of the gun. All joking aside, the Battlefield Execution function is in reality something whitelisted Commanders the opportunity to kill any players (save for the Warrant Officer) if they see they are a threat to the mission. After one, the Commander is supposed to make an announcement about who they killed and the reason. Afterwards, recourse could not be taken by military police, but they could send a fax to High Command for permission to arrest the Commander. Bringing us back to the whitelist revocation, if a Commander excessively or improperly uses this function I'd expect them to have their whitelist revoked.
  Now, that's how it's technically supposed to be seen. In my mind, it's more than a privilege. It's a tool. For what you say? The Battlefield Execution should solely be used, in my mind, for high-roleplay situations that make the round more interesting (making big dramatic examples, for instance) And there's nothing more uninteresting than stupid Battlefield Executions that the Commander uses just to get their murderbone in. I'd probably use it very scarcely (I prefer real executions anyway).

Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself?

• Of course not, I'm not above it because I am the law. But no, my job would be to lead, not arrest people. We have the Warrant Officer and the Military Police already, no point in wasting my time with acting like one. And, I have a good understanding of Marine Law (even if I have been known to misinterpret it at times), so I don't really see myself accidentally or even purposefully breaking the law as Commander. If I wanted to greytide, I'd just play as a maintenance technician. And if I did break the law, I'd expect the Military Police to do their due diligence and arrest me. However, depending on how I wanted to roleplay, I could totally see myself coordinating the Military Police to (lawfully) do my bidding and rule with an iron, but gentle, fist.

What do you think is the job of a Commander?

• The job of a Commander? I'll give you a hint, it's in the name. Alright, you guess it, it's to command. Alright, I'm kidding again but it's close. Yes, you command, but it's way more than that. A lot of commanders see it as their duty to micromanage everything around, try to have everything go your way. And a lot of commanders realize that that just sometimes doesn't work. Of course you should give briefing, give general commands, and coordinate your CIC, but no-one, especially ungas, like to be bossed around. I'd argue that the Executive Officer's job is more being a commander than the actual Commander himself. You need to be the monolith of your crew, gain their respect, give them someone to look up to. You're there for roleplay, for morale. So that's your job. Give badass speeches, give general orders, and roleplay as your given role.

If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?

• This question relies on a lot of unknowns. Like, who is the staff member? What's their rank? What is my history with them, is this their first time or is this a repeated issue? Are they defying me in public, or in private? Is it causing harm to the mission? Generally, if someone is just being a little insubordinate I wouldn't care, I'd just talk to them, see what they have to input, and maybe reconsider my orders. If they continue being a nuisance, I might call the Military Police to deal with them, and have them rethink why they're insubordinate. Now, if they're defying my orders in public, and it's causing the mission to be compromised? This might be where I start to think about using the Battlefield Execution.

Why should you be whitelisted?

• Why? Well, I want to be. I think it'd be fun, and I think I'd be a good fit. Whenever I'm in a high-roleplay role, I take that seriously. Now, I might meme around sometimes if I'm like a maintenance technician or something, but when I'm a Staff Officer, Warrant Officer, Corporate Liaison, I take that really seriously and often times the parties I'm involved with enjoy themselves as well. I consider myself quite knowledgeable in the server, I'm definitely not bald, I've reached all the requirements, and this is just a role that I want to try out. To sum it up, if I were whitelisted as Commander I'd just try my damnedest to make the round better and more enjoyable. Which is honestly what everyone should be doing, this is just on a much, much larger scale.

I love you IC, you make me laugh a lot and you always make sure people around you have fun. However i've seen you once as CMP and in general I believe you're too exasperated when giving orders, maybe even a bit reckless.

Your application is well formatted, Ive seen you command as XO and you do so quite well, your roleplay can also be high. At times.
While im on the fence leaning towards a plus one something sticks out in my mind, and that was but a few days ago when you were my CE. While MTs can get away occasionally grey tiding the level to which you took your insubordination and disregard for any procedures that a LCDR in your role would follow, it almost came out as LRP.

If you do get Commander whitelist is behavior like that going to continue if you dont get CO on the round and go another role? Was it one off?

Ha, you are right about that. In general I try to take command roles a bit more seriously, me doing that shit as a CE was just a lapse of judgement I think.

Asides a few incidents here and there, such as the fight club (Rule 1 of fight club...) I haven’t had a bad time RPing with you yet, in fact the times i’ve had you as CL or CMP were some of the best. I know you have the RP skills required, as well as the leadership skills to keep the Marines in line and focus on fucking up some good ol’ Crayon hating Benos. While you may seem a bit exasperated at times while in command, the multitasking is something that comes in time as you get used to the role, and for that, you know I gotta do it to ya.

I do regret having to, but i’m changing my vote as well. If they ever do return though and roll for CO, i’d be more then happy to see them in said role. But as of right now, I don’t think we should give the role to someone who can’t be there for there own promotion ceremony since they’re stuck in Cryo.
