Ranking and Rating is complicated in CM, sometimes you don't know who orders who and it can become a mess. I've used the
ranks page in order to make this guiding flowchart that might simplify things or it might make things much much more complicated. This flowchart follows the basic concept that if you have an arrow pointing from your role to someone else, you command that role and any other role that that role has command of.
Note: This flowchart is an initial draft and may include some errors, please shoot me a reply or message if you spot a mistake in the flowchart. I'd also be happy to explain any arrows on the diagram.
THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU'RE NOT DEMOTED. ALSO, EVERYONE IS SUBJECT TO MARINE LAW.
Additional Notes: The CMP cannot be ordered in matters relating to the law eg. ordering the release of a prisoner.

MT's are the same rank as Specs? or are they of equal rank from this chart its hard to tell because the arrows just point down so I'm assuming they have higher ranking than the spec? Correct me if I'm wrong though bro.

An arrow points from the role to whoever they can give orders to. Maintenance techs and Specialists are both Enlisted rating but Maintenance techs are of a higher rank (Technical Sergeant). This means that MTs can give lawful orders to squad specs.

All people of the same (effective) rank are horizontally aligned.
And you always have to follow orders of someone of a higher rank.
The lines show direct superiours.

Do like though, very nice and simplifies the structure down so people don't need to fuss so much about ranks!
