A brief summary:
► Show Spoiler
This event takes place a year after the the events of the backstory provided.
The storm was not letting up, and neither was the Yuatja known as Kai' halkrath. On a solo hunt, he wished to find worthy prey and expand his growing collection of trophies. The problem was there were very little Ooman trophies. This hunt would change that.
Kai' halkrath had encountered a squad of Oomans set up in an outpost and had been staking them out for the perfect time to strike. The storm, as it happened, provided the perfect hunt. Kai' halkrath activates his vox caster, and triggers the pre-recorded voice recording of one of the Oomans speaking, except it sounds wrong...Distorted. Kai' watches closely as the Oomans naturally huddle into their groups, scared. He laughs. They cower more.
His prying eyes look over the terrified pack of Oomans, searching for any that seem worthy of his acknowledgement, of his time. He continues to taunt the weak Oomans with noises, laughing at them. One Ooman catches his eye in particular. One Ooman who doesn't seem scared at all. One Ooman who seems alert. Active. Worthy. This Ooman will do.
Kai' halkrath stares on as the Oomans continue to cower, his eyes never leaving his prey. Soon, His prey will join his trophy collection, for the hunt has begun...

Some backstory on how Kai' halkrath came to be who he is:
Kai' halkrath had humble begginings, and was born on yuatja prime, the home of the Yuatja, to a clan of no real amazing merit or description. He is considered cocky by most, but through a fortunate blend of personality he manages to keep it in check enough to come across as charming rather than annoying and overconfident. Always eager to hear stories of other hunts, he can be seen constantly conversing with hunters who have participated in successful hunts, dreaming of joining those hunts himself one day. In his mind, he only sees the glory and the honor of such hunts, and none of the dangers.
TIme flew by, and Kai' halkrath's skill grew as he was trained and taught how to use weaponry. He claimed to have no particular liking of any particular weapon, though given a choice, he would always opt to use thewristblades. He also kept his combi stick in good condition despite the wear and tear it would go through during training sessions. They were durable, but not completely immune to damage, after all.
Eventually, he became a youngblood on a hunt with his fellow training partners, now hunting parnamed l'ulij-bpelij-bpe luar-ke and h'ulij-bpe guan. Despite the names and their meanings, and their names being almost ironic, Kai' halkrath was familiar with these two very well, down to their combat style and form. He knew they were skilled fighters, as was he, and therefore he was not at all worried that anything could happen. h'ulij-bpe guan was the same height as Kai' Halkrath, whilst l'ulij-bpelij-bpe luar-ke was ever so slightly smaller, at 7"1. The height did nothing to hinder the skills of the though l'ulij-bpelij-bpe luar-ke was sometimes mocked jokingly for being smaller than the other two, even by a little. All of these yuatja are male.
He predicted the hunt would be an easy one due to the collective skills the trio had. He was not wrong. The hunt he partook in was, as Kai' halkrath had guessed, a rather simple and easy one. His prey were stupid, and left easy tracks for him and his hunting partners to follow. He tracked his prey with his partners with the care and finesse he was taught to hunt with so many times. When he and his partners finally revealed themselves, disengaging their cloaking devices and bearing their weapons for the prey to see and engaged their prey, they took them down with ease, one each. Three trophies were gained that day for three seperate yaujta. More could have been earned, but there was no need to hunt such pathetic prey for very long. It was barely worthy, in Kai' Halkrath's eyes, He felt his honor demanded more of him, that he could be more!
Kai' halkrath partook in a few more hunts, though he was not satisfied being considered just a young blood, seeking approval of his superiors and wishing deeply to become blooded. He yearned to be able to truly prove himself and hunt the ultimate prey. Eventually, Kai' halkrath got his wish. He was selected to enter a hunt to become blooded on a planet known simply as LV - 200. The prey in question were Serpents, Deliberately placed and allowed to grow and expand into a small hive to enable Kai' halkrath and his hunting partners, l'ulij-bpe luar-ke and h'ulij-bpe guan an opportunity to prove themselves worthy of being blooded, or to never come back at all.
The hunt started out well enough. This particular planet boasted a vast luscious jungle, perfect for the serpents to hide within.
Kai' arrived donned in hunting mesh, with his hunting pouch at his side. He chose not to wear heavier armors, as they would only slow him down, though he of course still donned his clan mask. He also boasts many weapons along with the pouch by his belt, most notably a combi stick, a clan sword, and a ceremonial dagger. He of course wore his clan bracers, too.
There was not much to go by at first, and the hunting pack remained catious as to the whereabouts of the serpents for many before h'ulij-bpelij-bpe guan discovered signs of serpents. l'ulij-bpe luar-ke and Kai' Halkrath follow close behind, on the left and right hand side of h'ulij bpe guan respectively, observing the surroundings closely and keeping their wristblades extended to be safe. No words were spoken, and rarely would these three ever speak during a hunt, as the noise would alert their prey to their presence too early. On this day, the yuatja were fortunate, the serpent that was foolish enough to leave such obvious signs that it was in the area was indeed still in the area. The serpent appeared to be a form of red dog, Known commonly as a runner. It was worthy prey, despite it's size, and without having to say a word, h'ulij bpe disengaged his cloaking and exposed itself to the serpent, issuing a challenge. Kai' Halkrath watched as the serpent recoiled in suprise, hissing in anger, but did not run. The worthy prey had accepted. The fight was a brutal one, the serpent and H'ulij exchanging blows with eachother - A claw swipe digging into the flesh of a leg, a wristblade penetrating the thick carapace and letting loose the blood within. Eventually, h'ulij got the upper hand and Kai' watched as h'ulij delivered a killing blow to the head of the serpent, cleaving through it's skull and penetrating through the other side, killing it instantly. Kai' watched from the shadows in admiration of his hunt brothers kill, but also eagerness to do the same to his very own serpent, and claim the right to be blooded.
Kai' and l'uij disengage their cloaks at the battles end, admiring the handiwork of h'ulij. They allow him to work on his kill first, passing compliments for his very first serpent kill and his new blooded status, before tending to h'ulij's wounds when the serpent was finally stripped of it's head, which now served as a fine trophy and proof that the kill was performed.
The trio rest at the site of the kill, consuming the rest of the corpse as food and staying the night nearby in hopes that perhaps another serpent would pass by. They were not so lucky. Kai' and l'uij would have to find their own serpents the hard way and kill them in honorable combat.
The dawn of the next day came, and the trio packed up and continued their hunt, Kai' choosing to stay on the forest floor whilst the other two leaped from thick tree branch to thick tree branch, completely hidden with the use of cloaking. Kai' was eventually fortunate enough to find similar tracks to that of the serpent that was hunted and killed by h'ulij' the day prior. The kill was fresh on Kai's mind, and his arrogance flared. He followed the tracks alone, allowing his hunt brothers to go on ahead without knowledge he was not following, thinking he would be able to easily dispach of the serpent the same way h'ulij had done yesterday, except HE wouldn't sustain any injury, as he considered himself a much better fighter.
Kai' halkrath utilized everything in his arsenal to hunt down his prey with ruthless prescision, doing everything he had learned to do to find his prey without it finding him first. His infra-red vision on his helmet would do him no good, as the serpents were known to be invisible to it. Kai' foolishly allowed his mind to wander as he continued to check the surroundings carefully, allowing his guard to fall, thinking he was perhaps actually wrong...He mumbles a swear, and begins to head back the way he had came, before being jumped from a nearby tree by a serpent!
The serpent digs it's claws into his back, penetrating the mesh armor and letting bright green blood flow free. The serpent began clawing at his mask, and was lucky enough to knock it off in a few blows. Being maskless and furious, Kai' powered through the pain, banking on the fact the , in fact,in fact breathable as he would not easily be able to place the mask over his mandible'd face again without dispatching of the serpent first, he attempts to crush the serpent beneath his form by backing up into a nearby tree. The serpent is smarter than that, and leaps away, growling from nearby, but being very difficult to spot without knowing exactly where to look. Kai' stands, and lets loose and angry roar, extending his wrist blades and splaying his mandibles in anger.
The serpent responds with another growl, leaping onto Kai' again, though this time he is prepared, and throws the creature off, attempting to jab it with his wristblades while it is down but only succeeding in wounding it. His armor deflects a few more slashes, but many more penetrate through, causing further wounds to his body, and more pain. The yuatja continues to fight, wearing the serpent down but ultimately being over-confident in his abilities as a whole. It seems all hope is lost for Kai', and for a moment, Self-destruction seems like the only way this will end, but a rustling of nearby foliage sends the serpent away for the moment, and the air shimmers to reveal one of Kai's hunting partners - l'uij!
Kai' halkrath breathes deeply. "I am duelling a serpent as we speak, it is strong, stronger than I thought. but I must see this through to the end." he clicks, in visible pain. l'uij simply nods, understanding the possible implications. The serpent hisses once more, clearly still around and eager to finish the job, it had started. Kai' halkrath instructs l'uij to watch the fight, and if the worst comes to the worst, to send him out honorably.
Kai' halkrath watches his hunt partner fade into the foliage as the cloak engages, though he knows they are still watching. He cannot afford any distractions right now, though, and he knows that. His arrogance, which got him into this mess in the first place, fuels him now, as he knows someone is now bearing witness to his battle. He focuses on the battle, trying to ignore his mounting wounds, trying to locate and get the drop on the serpent. He doesn't manage to locate it before it attacks once more, but he is able to dodge and counter-attack in the nick of time, giving the serpent a grim cut along its underbelly. It doesn't die, as though the wound is deep, it's carapace managed to absorb the shock of the blow. Kai' halkrath responds with a swift lunge to the chest of the serpent, aiming to pin it for a finishing move, but succeeds only in damaging it's leg, causing it to screech in pain.
Whilst the chest attacks did not kill the serpent, the injury to the leg very well may have done. The serpent is considerably slowed due to the wound disabling it from being able to properly walk on that particular leg - The hind left leg in particular. Despite his injuries, Kai' had managed to best the serpent in combat, and for the most part, it seemed to have given up, or at least accepted it's fate. Kai' was more than happy to oblige, grabbing the combi stick from his weapons belt, and spearing the serpent with it, finishing it off.
After all of that action, the rest of the hunt was not that eventful. Kai' earned his trophy and tended to his wounds with the help of his hunt partner. H'uij, l'uij had said, had set up camp and anticipated l'uij's return, as they had heard the roars, hissing, and noticed Kai's absence, and assumed the worst.
Once the hunt was over, Kai' mused on what he had learned. He was happy that he had earned what he had been seeking - the title of blooded yuatja, but realized he could have been killed by his prey easily had he not been able to best the serpent in combat. He realized that because of his arrogance, he had believed he was better than others, better than his prey. That was not the case anymore. Kai' now sees all prey, so long as it is worthy to hunt, as worthy of his full attention and respect, and should not be treated lightly, as if they could do nothing to him - Any worthy prey could best him in combat if the prey was good enough. A careful and methodical approach would do nicely.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator)?
My predator would be careful and methodical with picking his targets to hunt. This would entail observing for the early round, to gauge which side is more worth my attention than the other. Perhaps there is a particularly robust marine wiping the floor with the xenos? Or a particularly robust xenomorph wiping the floor with the marines? Early game, I would be looking for that, especially in the first real xeno/marine skirmishes. From there, it's a matter of hunting the prey designated as worthy and securing a trophy, be it a limb, item, or their head.
Why should we whitelist you?
I understand as a predator, I'm not there to be the big bad guy that goes around stabbing the entire marine force, or hunting down and murdering the entire hive. I'm in my own little bubble for the most part, and while I choose who to hunt, I understand to properly roleplay people need to interact with me just as much as I need to interact with them. I think I can enrich people's experiences on the server in my interactions, and while it may not always go so smoothly and as planned, and things will go wrong and I will be killed or, worse, facehugged, that's all part of the fun and just how my characters story for that round would play out. I don't consider myself a rulebreaker and I don't believe any CM staff have any outlying problems with me as a player. I am aware that my forum activity and discord activity is not exactly sky high, but I feel my in-game activity helps make up for that. If needs be, I can make the effort to be more active on both platforms if it becomes an issue.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? No.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
Nope.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor? Absolutely. Respect the role you took the time to get on the whitelist for or get out.
Addendum:
I'm open to any criticisms anyone might have, I have tried my best to iron out any inconsistencies and errors in the story I have produced, and I have done my best to research everything that was reasonable to look into before making this. That being said, I may still have tripped up somewhere. I don't know what I expect from this application, but clearly I believe in this a little bit if I've bothered to go this far, right?
