Before I begin, and before you start reading, this is probably the hardest I have ever worked on a predator application with probably hours of typing, revising, revising again, re-typing, changing the story, revising again, & running it all through a spell & grammar checker that takes FOREVER to load/finish.
The backstory will be very lengthy, so don't start reading if you don't have the time (just a fair warning).
Also, I would kindly ask that you don't criticize too hard on my grammar. I suck at English. I am much better at talking than I am at writing/typing. I ran this through a very simple (and free) grammar and spell-checker so if I make errors,
try not to criticize me too much, I at least
tried to fix it.
I am also by no means some super-duper-mega-awesome writer, so forgive me if I am not Brandon Sanderson or J. K. Rowling & my story is boring as hell.
Byond ID:

Marine Name (so we know who you are; if you play alien mostly, state that here):
Anekcahap (Various nicknames) Volkov
I really like to play alien a bunch, and I typically stick to defender, drone, or queen.
As a matter of fact, alien is kind of my main nowadays.
UNIQUE IDENTIFIERS:
A unique identifier from me as a xeno would usually be saying on the drop-ship 'Is anybody ... NOT ... ready?' or in normal situations 'THAT STUPID MUSTARD TREE'
When an XO, I was/am that guy that wouldn't stop saying over announcements "TEN MORE STEPS!! YOU SAID YOUR VERY BEST!! GIVE ME MORE!! GIVE ME MORE!! DON'T QUIT!!".
When I'm XO/SO, I also salute and do Me"Stays at attention." and will do that once every 30-ish seconds until addressed by the superior officer.
When I'm an SL/Spec I tell privates that question my orders '[name], I DON'T REMEMBER ASKING YOU A QUESTION!' I also use FT's in my squads ... A LOT.
Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name):
Ohanko Perdition.
Ohanko means hunter, & perdition (besides the scriptures/bible definition) means complete & total destruction & annihilation. The perdition name was chosen because my character 'snaps' in the training part of his story & becomes incredibly powerful. It is also a family legacy/name. Ohanko was just the name given at birth, but enough about the name.
Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor?
Yes, yes I am. I have even talked with current predators what things would, and would
not, be ok to do in certain situations.
Character background (An ADEQUATE description and story of your predators background):
Early Childhood:
► Show Spoiler
Ohanko was a very quiet and shy Yautja. Despite him having a royal background from his family & his family name that everyone knew having the reputation of being the most rambunctious, most gun-ho type of family/kin. He enjoyed reading, particularly ancient texts about ways to use your environment to your advantage, and always sought to become the most powerful hunter to ever exist like most of his other friends.
Though he sought this through a different way by using strategies and tactics rather than the brute-force & power his kin so typically used.
One day, because he was beaten so many times, and so hard, he stormed out of the room. He hated it when brute force and power could win over almost anything.
He considered it their down-fall as he won a lot of strategy & tactics games, particularly the space-fleet game by having a small to medium sized fleet with powerful weapons, speed, armor, & cloaks, rather than his other kin who used either a couple of huge dreadnoughts & massive fire-power with no cloaks or swarms upon swarms of small fighters that couldn't withstand a pea-shooter & only hit with a dent by using bombers.
As he neared his teenage years, he sought the trainer that had the lowest student allowance for their first hunts. The reason for this is because he saw a correlation between allowance of first hunts, & successful first hunts percentage. The one he requested was hardly ever asked for, as most young Yautjans of his kind were assigned to Rish'ta. [[ree-shh-ta]]
Training:
► Show Spoiler
Ohanko was thrown to the ground and attacked relentlessly by his trainer's stick. He gasped as he tried to re-gain his breath.
"You're weak." His trainer said coldly to him, "You need to work harder".
Rish'ta was notorious for being the most brutal trainer in the Sajizar Clan and was one of the toughest, hunt-hardened veterans in the Yautjan society. Despite what his wife said about him having a kind heart, most of his kin thought of him as too brutal and harsh on the un-blooded. He finally let up his flurry of attacks and let Ohanko stand up. He let him take about half a breath before he struck again.
Ohanko wasn't ready and he toppled over once again. Rish'ta stopped his attack, and stepped back. Ohanko was relieved, but wondered why his trainer didn't finish his attacks. He got up slowly as he watched his trainer for his next move.
"We're done with combat training for today, but I want you to learn something young one." Rish'ta said. Ohanko nodded, and waited for the piece of advice.
"You have the ability of a 9 out of 10 Ohanko, but you're giving me a 3 on effort" He said coldly. Ohanko stared in dis-belief, his trainer was right, but above that he was praising him for his ability.
His trainer continued, "If you want to be the best you can possibly be, I will give you 2 pieces of advice." Ohanko listened carefully. "No-one ever gets better by being in their comfort zone, or doing things that they like to do ..." His trainer said, "That's the reason why I trained you and so many others before you so much on what you call 'mundane' tools like the medi-comp, survival skills, fire-building skills, improvised weapons and tool building, & among other things. I don't care about your ability level, because that can always become better over time. I do care however, about your effort level."
Ohanko nodded. It was like opening his eyes for the first time. Or finding a new perspective that completely changes the way a painting looks by turning it. "This next piece of advice will serve you well, but only to a point." His trainer said cautiously, "Brute force of power, rage, and muscle will get you very far as an individual. However, be warned that some tasks cannot be achieved alone, or by brute force and power. Why do you think us Elders hunt for queens as a group?"
His trainer walked out of the room as Ohanko was pondering the meaning of Rish'ta's words and how to take his advice.
===============================================================================================================
6 of days later, Ohanko showed up to the training room almost an hour early as he had 5 days ago when his trainer gave the life-changing advice to him. He was determined to give his best effort and started practicing on the dummies provided. He did his unarmed jabs, his wrist-blade slashes and stabs, some combi-stick lunges, & even practiced with some of the heavy swords & halberds. He noticed that his trainer was late, but was instructed to never wake him.
So he kept practicing.
... and practicing ...
... and practicing ...
It was 2 hours past the time that he should have met up with his trainer when he realized that today was his day off. Ohanko looked around at the room, filled with annoyance at himself at being so stupid, but decided to do something he had never dared to do willingly; the death crawl.
He started off slow. Only carrying 40 kilograms on his back across the room and back. He struggled to maintain his balance under the weight, but managed to do it and maintain his balance. He then put an 50 kilogram weight on his back. He continued this cycle until he reached 80 kilograms. He struggled to maintain his balance under the crushing weight, and groaned as he struggled. He finally made it to the other side of the room and back, took the weight off, and collapsed.
He finally stood up, only to find himself face to face with his trainer. He was smiling, and it wasn't a smile of 'let's get started'. It was a smile of approval, something Ohanko had only seen once almost 3 years ago.
"Ohanko, I want you to get back into the death-crawl." His trainer said. Ohanko complied without complaint and started to put the 80 kilogram weight on his back.
"No, 100 kilograms ..." His trainer said quickly. "... and I want you to do it blindfolded." Ohanko looked at his trainer in dis-belief, but complied as Rish'ta wrapped the blindfold around his head. He started off & kept going straight. His body started to weaken rather quickly near the end of the wall.
He started groaning as turned around and struggled towards the finish, then started groaning so loudly it almost sounded like he was screaming.
It was then that something inside of Ohanko broke.
He screamed out in pure rage and anger of not being good enough, no, not being powerful enough as he almost buckled under the weight, but kept going with this new-found energy. He finally reached back to the wall and pulled the weight off his back as he groaned from the pain in his arms while he lay there, taking in breaths of cold, dry air. Rish'ta towered over him like a bug compared to a leviathan.
His trainer squatted down next to him, "Ohanko ..." Rish'ta said, "I believe you are ready for your first hunt." and walked out of the room. Ohanko lay there for practically 10 minutes to regain his strength & composure, then went to bed.

The Rush:
► Show Spoiler
Ohanko was ready at the door of the equipment room before everyone else. He hated the rush for the equipment because he believed everyone should have the same equal opportunity to prove themselves. He was confident that he would get the most gear out of everyone, but still had doubts.
When all 5 of his fellow kin arrived, they all nodded to one another in respect. They then lined up at the line which was to be lifted when the elder raised & dropped his hand. They all would get the default wrist-blades, cloak, & bio-mask.
Ohanko took a quick scan of the equipment room. It was a little t-junction with the line at the base of the junction. On the left rack were 2 plasma casters, 1 combi-stick, and a plate of armor. To the right on the racks were 2 combi-sticks, 2 plates of armor, 3 medi-comps, and 2 boxes of mines.
All the way at the end of the hall was a rack of various items. He couldn't tell what was what down there.
The elder raised his hand slowly, and then quickly lowered it.
3 of his kin went to the left where the plasma-casters were, and 2 went down the hall at a much faster run than normal, and Ohanko went to the right rack.
He grabbed & slipped on the armor with ease, then grabbed the box of mines next. He then met someone's hand reaching for the nearest combi-stick.
He swung his arm around where the other Yautja was pulling and smacked his arm across his face. Ohanko then let go of the combi-stick he was holding, dropping it for the competing yautja. He then grabbed the other combi-stick. After that, he quickly grabbed the medi-comp & lunged across the retreat line which was the point where you can't fight over gear, but can't go back in.
He patiently waited for the rest of the kin in his clan to finish as he checked his box of mines. It contained 5 total mines.
Two throwing mines, two sonic throwing mines, and an EMP throwing mine.
He looked up and saw the two from the main hallway well equipped with combi-sticks, medi-comps, armor, and even a plasma-caster.
The three that rushed for the plasma-casters all came back with only 1 or 2 items in hand.
The elder smiled a smile of amusement, then showed them to their pods.
The Hunt Begins:
► Show Spoiler
Ohanko cantankerously climbed into the pod with his gear & flew to the pre-determined coordinates on the planet below.
It was a dark-looking planet. So dark that it looked almost like a black-hole without any reflection on the surface from the nearby star.
Then he remembered. This was the planet of the vanta-black colored leaves.
===============================================================================================================
He landed the pod and hopped out. Everything was impossibly dark, despite it being midday on the planet. It looked like he was standing on the void itself with only a little star burning above his head, along with his ship beside him.
He switched to ping-vision on his bio-mask, much like a creature that echo-locates. He then set the frequency to 'silent', and made his way through the pitch-black jungle to the place where the serpents were released many years ago.
Ohanko jumped & leaped from tree to tree of the hot, humid jungle as he scanned his surroundings. Something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye.
He switched to EM vision on his bio-mask to see if it was a serpent, but was instantly blinded by the sheer amount of light the bio-mask displayed because of the leaves emitting EM radiation.
Ohanko hurriedly switched to normal view to see if he could spot a serpent, but saw nothing but the void of black in front of him.
He then switched back to ping-vision, and saw a creature just 20 feet from where he was standing as he saw it charge him.
He immediately rolled to the right as he heard a big thump against the tree behind where he was just standing.
He got a good look at the creature through the visor, and could hardly contain his terror.
It was a Vas'hta Narad'a, a creature that was colored pure vantablack. It was a creature thought to be extinct due to it's obviousness in nature.
Here in the depths of a pitch-black forest where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, it was nearly a perfect habitat for this creature. For a blatantly obvious vision-target like Ohanko, it could spot him from quite literally a kilometer away.
He jumped to his feet as the 30 pings a second coming from his bio-mask reached the creature and back to him. This creature was huge.
He extended his combi-stick and struck the creature with a slashing motion, cutting the beast, and the beast made no sound as it retaliated by spinning around and attacked with it's massive bear-like paws, slicing Ohanko on his left wrist.
The glowing blood spilled out over his wrist-blades, filling the air with a metallic scent.
He made his counter-move by extending his wrist-blades into the creature's massive paw, impaling it as it made no sound, but recoiled away from the pain inflicted as Ohanko unleashed a quick flurry-rush from his combi-stick, piercing & stabbing the creature 5 times.
The creature made no sound as it lashed out with it's rear left leg, hitting Ohanko square in the chest and cracking his armor with an audible snap as Ohanko felt a little bit of hot, humid air reach his chest as he breathed heavily.
Ohanko was sent a couple feet back, but quickly drew a throwing mine from his pocket and hit the charging creature square in the face.
Nearly half of it's head was blasted into colorless black chunks that was vanta-black & invisible to the naked eye. The creature stumbled as it charged, nearly dead. It made a desperate, but powerful last move as the massive creature smashed it's paw against the right side of his visor.
Ohanko immediately reared back in pain as a deep cut went through his bio-mask & into his mandible. It damaged the right side of his bio-mask as his right-eye display shut down, giving up as it's electronics were severed.
Enraged, Ohanko sunk his left wrist-blade into the nearly-dead creature's head, finishing it off.
Ohanko took a breathe of the hot, void-heated air from the sun as he butchered the animal & set it in his pouch.
He then proceeded to cover himself with the vanta-black goo from head to toe. He figured that the fauna predators in the forest would be able to see without visual aid, but nonetheless he covered himself & tested his cloak to make sure it was compatible.
After doing so, he went to a secondary point where there was a second temple of serpents reported by his ship above.
===============================================================================================================
He reached the outer-edge of the temple. He could see it clearly with his un-aided right eye & with the aided vision in his left.
He checked his surroundings and saw nothing. He hopped down from the void tree & went through the heat-laden clearing of the void to the temple.
Inside the temple, he found that the walls were covered in a vanta-black resin much like what the serpents secreted, and it was then without warning that Ohanko was struck from behind by a serpent, cracking his armor as the it deflected the attack, almost to the point of breaking.
He spun around and sunk his blade deep into the body of a serpent that was covered in pure vanta-black as the serpent screeched and whipped it's tail around, narrowly missing Ohanko's left cheek.
Ohanko made a counter-strike with his combi-stick as he speared the serpent straight through the head, killing it as it's sizzling vanta-black blood burned through the floor with a reeking stench.
He made quick work of the creature, then proceeded deeper inside the temple, but only took nearly 9 steps when he saw something move so fast he only caught nearly 2-3 pings of it on his bio-mask.
Ohanko went into combat-stance, ready for a fight with another one.
Nothing happened.
Ohanko was confused. Perhaps it was his imagination. He cautiously proceeded down the void-darkened corridor. He started to take his second step in the long, echoing corridor when the serpent struck with near blinding speed towards him, & tackled him to the ground as it slashed at the mesh armor on his chest.
Ohanko bucked his hips and threw the creature off & noticed that it wasn't vanta-black colored. It was rather a dark, dark purple, much like the strange resin the serpents normally secreted. Other than that, it looked like a perfectly normal serpent.
Ohanko froze for a moment, realizing that the previous serpent was pure vanta-black.
In that moment, the serpent seemed confused as it tilted it's head like an owl, seemingly trying to ... find him. Ohanko suddenly had a gut feeling, and went with it as he lay perfectly still as the creature lashed out in random directions, seemingly blind.
The serpent stayed still for a very long time before seeming to decide that Ohanko was gone, despite it being only 10 feet from him.
A sound suddenly echo'ed in the deep, long, void-colored hallways of the temple & the serpent moved so fast it was practically a blur for him.
Ohanko slowly relaxed, processing what just happened. He smelled burning from inside the temple, & silently chased after the creature.
He came upon the creature tearing apart a strange rabbit that was a bright yellow. It then clicked in Ohanko's brain.
This serpent's ovomorph seed had impregnated a creature that could not see, but could echo-locate incredibly accurately, was incredibly strong, & could run at nearly 160 km/h. It was the product of a creature known as a 'Bluzzkurr'.
Ohanko silently approached the creature, sensing it's ignorance, & sinked his combi-stick into it's back.
The serpent screeched as it flung him with it's tail about 5 meters back & pounced on him with incredible force as it slashed the last layer of armor on his chest off.
Ohanko retaliated by setting off the sonic mine in his pocket, which deafened him only a little.
The serpent reeled back from his pocket in pain as the sound overloaded it's senses as Ohanko took out another sonic mine and threw it directly into the creature's head, deafening the creature. He then quickly jabbed it's head with his right wrist-blade, killing it.
He made quick work of the serpent, & headed out of the temple towards his pod where his visor had marked the location.
The pod was sitting at the spot he marked with his visor. It had patiently waited for him as he hopped into the pod & soared back up to the ship.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator)?
I intend to play my predator with considerable consideration to the environment I'm in, as well as a 'Power and brute force strength rules all' kind of memento, but use it with strategy.
I also intend to give my best effort into role-playing, & I intend to do this not by being all touchy-touchy and 'communicate with the humans' kind of thing, but rather engaging them as if they were prey. I'm not gonna lie, this is a typical 'yeah, whatever, lmao, dumb pred who doesn't communicate', but they are
prey. They are
not another species to consider their equal.
You can't exactly go super-marine, as you
will get killed
very easily (I've seen it happen loads of times), but I do intend to bring myself a challenge. I would take marines and xenos in 2's & 3's, perhaps even 4's and try to get them all.
THIS in my opinion is a challenge for a predator, not 1v1'ing a B18 with Yautjan blades.
I will also (and I WILL let you quote me on this in the future if I break it)
NEVER use a plasma-caster UNLESS I am about to be face-hugged, or about to die
A CERTAIN DEATH, in which case I will use it to escape & deter prey from following me and killing me.
This is because my character does not believe that long-ranged weapons are very difficult to use, & virtually shuns them unless he's using it for the above reasons. This is because my character believes that using it to avoid dis-honorable death or face-hugging is worth it, but only uses it as a
very last resort.
Why should we whitelist you?
I've always had trouble coming up with a reason for this, but I believe I have a solid couple of reasons right now.
I personally have always been fond of predators, and would like to enjoy playing them (typical response, whatever). But I believe I bring something unique to the table that maybe other predators don't exactly even
consider doing: Use of my environment to my advantage in creative & unique ways. This includes, but most certainly
does not limit it to; putting traps in near-impossible to see areas, luring marines away from cover or squad-mates, provoking marines/xenos into my traps, getting more enemies involved on a flank to draw forces from another nearby area by attacking it which I can then go and attack the less-fortified area, , & trying to engage multiple targets (up to 4) at the same time to present a challenge.
Now before you say 'dude, you're just gonna go super-marine and kill everyone' ... yes I may end up doing a massive dent to either side ... and some predators currently do that themselves. I will however, try my best to
not have any mob above a corporal/T2 killed (only in 3-4 mob combat),
unless they involve themselves in the hunt directly. I also will not take kindly to marines/xenos trying to drag away their friends, but not participate in the fight. If they are helping drag them away to safety, they should be
making safety, not [fleeing] to it.
I believe I would also bring to light that predators didn't
just use brute force & stealthily de-cloaking to stab a bunch of marines/xenos, but rather tactics, trapping, using their tools to
hunt prey, not
fight prey. In the movies, you hardly
ever see a 1v1 duel occur. Instead, you see a squad of marines (typically 4-8 people) engaging the predator all at the same time, trying to find out where the f*** he went while they step all over the predator's traps, this is also part of how I intend to hunt. This is because it is a
rare occurrence, & I will probably
never challenge anyone, prey OR Yautja, to a death-locked duel (fight to the death).
In my backstory, it also brings to light that predators don't
just hunt humans and xenomorphs, but
ANY prey they find worthy of a challenge, including but not limited to; multiple targets, challenging targets, and other special cases.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
I have not been banned in the past month
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
No, I am not.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?
Yes, I understand that
very clearly. There are no bad-bloods in this server, and
never will be.
