Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.
That player had no IC reason of shooting another marine. I'd allow the MP to detain them.

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.
I would fix the breach and resurrect the killed players.

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.
I would PM them, asking if they would like any assistance. I would also provide a link to the current map, and map of the current ship.

4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.
I would direct him to an admin+ staff member, warning the member that he might be irritated.

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.
Ignorance is not an excuse, since it says at a round start that you should read the rules. I would have that player change his/her name by next round, or they will get the appropriate punishment.

6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.
I would ask him why he has Code Red equipment on him. If the CE, XO, or CO has not ordered them to the planet, I would warn them to put the equipment back, or it will deserve the appropriate punishment.

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.
He is well within his right to, as his character, a medic, would have the knowledge of performing surgery. He is not causing any trouble here.

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?
I would probably send an XRT during their evac when the aliens inevitably board. Or send in another Xeno hive that crashed down from somewhere and some reinforcements for the marines.

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile CLF member and the CLF member Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.
This is not EORG, since the CLF and USCM are enemies. They are completely allowed to continue fighting.

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.
This is not allowed at game start. I would shoot them a message, asking them to stop first or I would give them the deserving punishment if they continue.

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.
The fight should not have escalated to murder. Even if he had a 'good reason', it does not protect him from marine law.

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.
I would message an Admin+ and describe the issue, saying that x has happened. You should do y to fix it.

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.
Racism is not allowed, as well as any other offensive comment. It would be a warning to the one who instigated it, or to all who participated if the comment was deemed too offensive.

14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.
I would ban him for a day or three. That is just wrong. I would also revive all those killed, and heal those injured.,

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.
I would message him saying that a larva should NOT be going to the front lines. The first is a warning.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.
Until it is aHelped, it is fine. It is not inhibiting others or causing too bad a nuisence

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".
We all make mistakes. If they call it that multiple times, it would need to be addressed by the staff, but if its just once, I'd reply saying to help your fellow player.

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.
That is heavy metagaming, and will be dealt with a warning or punishment.

19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.
Again, a marine should not have escalated that. If there were no more spots available, then the shuttle would have broken. I would say it was failed usage of lethal force.

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.
I would message both members my opinion on the matter and hope to clear up anything.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.
I would message the Head of staff about this matter and any other relevant staff member immediately.

21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.
I would warn him that that is breaking the rules, rule 3 of not being a dick.

I have only seen you once ingame (might be due to timezones), non-existant forum activity, with the exception of an acidgoop tier pred application, some issues with the questions.

However I am going to go through your answers because there's quite a few mistakes.

2. Answer is fine, but you should determine what caused the breech (Bug, Predator going SD)

3. Fine, don't forget about mentors as well

4. You can always find out what the issue is through a simple chat, sometimes admins are busy and will ignore them.

6. In-character issue, not a rule break. If the player looks to be new, you can always send a mentor there way.

7. Medics mechanically cannot perform surgery, and also that is not their role, although its a old question, the answer is its still a violation.

8. Only admins can do that, you can only do SMs and Queen Mother reports only.

9. Fine answer

10. Good

11. Make sure you investigate and determine if there was proper escalation

12. You don't tell an admin how to fix things, you just tell them what the problem is and they will come up with a solution

13. Minor IC racism is ok, but you only step in if it goes too far

14. If you're gonna ban we have a ban escalation procedure, but you were on the right path

15. Fine

16. Although it wasn't ahelped, if you see it, you should correct the behavior before it reaches the point of an ahelp

17. Xeno hivemind is considered a "translation" its not a mistake to name it.

19. Actually its a valid RP reason as long as its escalated properly.

20. Take it up directly with the member and just tell them what they said was incorrect

21. People say the stupidest stuff in OOC, if its obviously a joke and you know its a joke, to just banter back with them

I've dived a little more into your history. Along with your warning a day or so ago, you've also got a Job-Ban from squad Leader which is still in effect. No Forum presence and you say you've been here since Sulaco days which I'm not sure about.

As for your answers they need more work and overall this application isn't anything special so I'm going to -1 this and wish you the best in the future.

Alright, firstly I'd like to thank you all for the replies and even looking at it. I'd like to touch a few notes and such, explaining some things.

My main character is Sorin 'Devil' Markov, but I jump from character to character, and I dabble in aliens (sentinel castes), I have also went by Colt Belmonte, Felicia Steele, and Mark Stalin to name a few.
I only just recently (relatively speaking) made a forum account, and for the Pred application, I did not know what I was doing, or how to answer some questions. I also do not know how exactly to delete it, and I will reapply for it in the future.
My Clackerz account is as old as early sulaco, and during the many..... many.... Bill Carson Mutiny attempts...... but my forum account is about a few months old, so its no surprise you haven't seen this account lately. I did take a break for a year when my computer broke, though.
If anyone remembers "Killmaster and Winter" from the Sulaco, you're cool.

I agree, and admit, I forgotten about the MP warning thing until i checked on this, and I should've been more attentive to what my character was holding. It was an accident, but it was still my fault and I would still accept any punishment towards me about it.

The Job Ban for the SL was from my terrible internet constantly DC'ing me, so I haven't appealed for it yet. I don't wanna lose it again for the same reason, ya know?

I'd especially like to thank TheSoldierLLJK, as you're reply was really helpful to me.

Dorkelli, you might've seen me more than once as different characters, as I like to keep consistency between them (i.e. Sorin 'Devil' Markov tries to persuade and talk others, but resorting to some form of flame related weapon if needed). It would just feel off for me to play the gun-ho unga as Sorin. That is a job for Mark Stalin.


Overall, I do agree with most of what was said in these replies, and I probably do need to wait a bit and become more familiarized with the game and its rules and staff, as well as interpretation and application of the punishments. I would also give myself a -1, after seeing it over with my recent actions.
