[Fickmacher] - Moderator Application
Byond ID: Fickmacher
Age: 22
Timezone: Eastern Standard Time
On average, how many hours are you available per week to moderate? 40.
Do you have any previous experience in being staff (not just SS13)? I've moderated several roleplay forums, most prominently vampirethemasqueraderpg/com/forum.
Did you play any of the previous Colonial Marine servers? Not marine, no.
Have you had an application to Colonial Marines or New Eden denied before? No.
Are you currently a staff member elsewhere (not just SS13)? If so, where? No.
Have you ever been banned for more than 24 hours on Colonial Marines? No.
If a player was shooting everyone in briefing at round start how would you deal with the situation? I would message said player asking him why he was doing that and demand that he stop immediately. Assuming that I can determine that it was grief, I would ban the player and let admins know. I would then revive anyone who was killed by grief.
You notice that a xeno is breaching the Nostromo and is unable to seal it with resin. How would you deal with this and what punishment would you give for a first offender? I would message him telling him that it is against the rules, referring them to the link. If there were no admins to discuss the issue with, I would then ban him/her for minimum 24 hours.
The marines want the nuke codes to detonate the Nostromo because they claim they are losing too many marines. There are currently 4 aliens and 20 marines in your /who. What do you do? I would deny the request, then make a Centcomm announcement letting them know that using the nuke is both a last resort and unnecessary.
A Sulaco Medic has made several napalm grenades and hands them out to marines. One of the marines throws the grenade into Logistics. There are no admins or other moderators online. What do you do?
I would message the marine in question, letting him know that that's not allowed (unless aliens were attacking.) I would heal anyone injured and give the marine a warning. I would ask the Medic to stop making napalm grenades as they're causing issues, and fix any sort of potential issues with atmos if I could.
What would you do if a player started to talk about the things he did to your mom last night?
I would ask them to stop with the comments. If they refused, I would ignore them. If said player has a legitimate issue, I'd fix said issue. I'd also let ahelp know that he's being rude.
Any additional information you'd like to add?
I've been playing Space Station 13 for years and Colonial Marines for some time now. I'm on quite frequently and know a particularly large amount on the aliens and Engineering. I also tend to have a lot of patience. I'd love to help out with the server and figure out new ways to improve things.

Hmm, some of these answers are a little harsh...
You also seem rather inactive on the forums, might wanna pick on that.
Other than the overall harshness of the breaching "your mum did X" answers, didn't see anything that particularly stopped me from considering you for a team member.
Neutral, leaning towards +1; fix up the harshness and i'll go to a +1
(on a seperate note, excellent choice of PnP RPG, 1st ED D&D player here)

I've been lurking on the forums, but I'll be sure to start adding in more input. I also edited a couple answers. I try to be understanding, generally, but I also want to ensure that the rules are being followed. And yeah, I love World of Darkness, and I've played some D&D as well. Trying to find someone who's running a Shadowrun game, currently.

Well, the your mom answer was a bit decent but normally we mute them from Ahelp for about 5 minutes and tell them to calm down... Regarding the breaching rule. 24 hours for breaching is a bit much normally just give the player a warning and patch the breach with the fix breach tool. other than that you have a good chance +1

+1 from me. Experience is there, age is reassuring and you answered the "Mom" question very calmly.

I'm neutral.
The answers were a bit harsh for the situations.
While yes, we want to ensure the rules are followed, there is wiggleroom. I recommend you read our staff procedures and code of conduct.

I understand, apop. I made sure to read the staff rules and procedures beforehand. The goal is to ensure that RP runs smoothly and to follow the spirit of the rules rather than the letter. Mods stand back unless there is something actively ruining RP, such as meta, griefing, and those goddamn things that cause issues with atmosia that are such a bitch to figure out. >_<apophis775 wrote:I'm neutral.
