Boost Shotgun Damage to 60
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
I propose boosting the shotgun damage from its miserable 40 to 60.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
Will make it worth carrying again.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Currently, as I understand, the Magnum is superior to the shotgun in damage, carryability, and use. The Magnum does five more points of damage, is easier to reload, can be fired with one hand, and can be stored in suit storage. The shotgun does five points less damage than the magnum, takes at least ten seconds to reload, has to be fired with two hands, and can't be stored easily. There is literally no benefit to carrying the shotgun anymore.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):

I agree the Shotgun has fallen into the L6 unusable category and needs to be something worth carrying also it doesn't make sense for a magnum which fires quicker and is easier to reload to do the same amount of damage as a slow pump action shotgun... so +1 from me.

Pulse Rifles are meant to be the standard weapon of the Colonial Marines, so I don't really have much of a problem with that at all.helios345 wrote:+1

+1 Shotgun and L6 both need a boost. I'd rather just go to magazine/drum loaded riot shotguns if we are keeping this damage.
As a side note to our Wiki Curators, the Wiki still lists the Shotgun as an 80 damage weapon.

If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

Firstly, I changed the shotgun.
Let me explain:
The shotgun was made, as a more of "advanced" weapon for players. Like, a noob can use it, but not as effectively as someone who's been here awhile or knows how to macro. It was designed to work WITH Macros, so that players could fire it faster than other weapons (it has no fire delay). The problem is that, this resulted in people spamming the macro and shoot keys together. One round, I saw an alien dealt 400 damage by a SINGLE PERSON in around, 4 seconds. That's pretty unacceptable.
It's at 40 for the moment, I'm trying to work on alternatives, but there is no way, I'm returning a 100DPS weapon, even if it only has a few shots.

I have an suggestion.
Make pumping automatic.
When ever you fire(or try to fire if empty), it calls pump proc after 0.8 seconds (Or so)
So, you load it up with shells, fire it and it will pump it. Make some check so it doesn't double pump or something if you click fast.
And boost the damage please...

Disable macros for the shotgun, bam fire rate is cut in half.
