make ravagers immune to fire

Post by Reuben Owen » 17 May 2015, 18:22

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
Give Ravagers /something/ to make them usable again without Queens saying "don't evolve", etc. They look dark red, as if they've been hardened by fire and flamethrowers currently need some kind of downside to prevent flamethrower spam into a xeno hive/xeno face. FIRE BAD.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
- ravagers will be (more) usable again
- flamethrowers will be less of a one fit to all situations
- it'll be cool to see a bulking red behemoth charging at you through flames
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
Lately the first thing that happens when marines approach a hive is they use the flamethrower which not only burns away weeds in the hive but it prevents the xenos from getting close/ bypassing them, which is tough on them since they are primarily melee based. Xenos just need some way of preventing this sort of behavior, otherwise one flamethrower spamming marine could wipe out a straight dozen trapped xenos, since fire damage is really high, and going through fire is near suicide.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
Just change code about Ravagers
I play Xeno 99% of the time. All castes.

+1, though flamethrower nerf is incoming. Hell, I'd like to see Ravagers -healed- by fire, I think that would be awesome.

+1 honestly, fuck flamethrower users anyway. The amount of friendly fire it causes isn't worth it.
