Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Make some ranks with determine badassery and how robust you are

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):More RP ,will show how robust you are and badass and maybe will show the LO who should put as a SL a competent sergeant or a newly recruit

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):So i though about it ,put in the flavor text like:
Kaladin Stormblessed is a newly recruit(for the first round played)

And this should work only for marines because it will be quite weird for a sulaco medic to be a battlehardened sergeant or a LO

Dolores Waits is a battlehardened sergeant(over 70 rounds played)
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Code it so it can record how many rounds did you played (that doesnt mean you insta ghost when the round start then leave you computer on and watch a movie so you can gain ranks )and after you recorded the round it and copy the code for Tattoes From Delta Force Banter Sanctum and just change the text

+1 If it goes through, PRESENT it as a possible FIX to NEWBIE-Commander.

I don't really like the idea of ranks. Regular marines are basically assumed to be privates, Squad leaders are assumed to be sergeants, and Commanders are assumed to be Lieutenants/Admirals/Captains.

It would get really strange. You'd mess up the entire command structure.

Im talking with only ranks(private ,sergeant ,corporal ,for marines there shouldnt exist lieutenent ((that would be a CO)) for marines,newly recruits,there exist a problem with noob SL too,maybe instead of flavor text you could on the ID Card and when you read your ID Card it should show experience and show this experience at the ID Card Modification Console so LO can see who is fit for SL positions

That doesn't change the fact that literally anyone would become the highest rank in a day or two, thus making the entire suggestion pointless and fucking over people who don't play as often. Assuming anyone even pays attention to it after the first day.

So let assume that 1 round=2-3 hours so no you cant earn ranks so fast as you think and i dont think that you are playing CM 24/24,The requirements for ranks can be changed, the most highest rank would be battlehardened sergeant which will be in place of 70 rounds could change it to 150 rounds or more
150 x 3 hours=450 hours/24=18 days of playing CM nonstop
The average CM player plays 2-4 rounds per day

I know taht people who dont play as often are at disadvantage ,but now you can never get the highest rank in a day or two
To be sincere some people like small details like this ,as i said that would help the problem SL noob which would fuck over a squad

The problem is new players would be shunned out for older players.. which kind of divides the community in the respect of the people who play on the off chance and others who play on the server most the time.

Then in a few days it'd be worthless instead of a day. Big deal. The suggestion would still do literally nothing but fuck over new people, the bad people would still be there, the noobs would still be there. They'd just have a fancy name that legitimatizes them. And this is still assuming anyone would care about it.

If a noob gets squad lead, then they're going to get ignored like the good squad leads get ignored.

And this is also assuming it can even be coded, which no server has ever managed to do. This kind of thing has been sought after by /tg/, /vg/ and Baystation for a year or two and none of them can figure out how to do it. So even if this was a good idea, it'd be difficult to implement at best and impossible at worst.

Hell fucking no. Having more play time in this server doesn't make you more competent and it screws over the people who work for a living. Not to mention game time in this server doesn't mean you are better or worse,I've been playing ss13 for 5 years now and it's more the skills I've learned over that period that I use in-game.

Well there you have it and Experience system is NOT for CM-SS13 on BYOND, it's a option when more suitable (like 3D Space fps exist).

We shouldn't touch the EXPERIENCE mechanic for a while, save it for Alpha X.2. Right now CM server need fresh maps, ideas and fun.Meanwhile, an Experience system just going to wreck SpaceStation13 gameplay mechanic, what worse, is that you have to GRIND like every RPG game I touch. So let stay out of it. RIP.
I'm not against it, but it's good wisdom to think it FURTHER, and get a better picture.


P.S. Most people should already heard of the Karma system, there already a mechanic in SS13 on your experience on different job.
