It really isn't that hard for aliens as they don't have to stick to maint or rooms due to most of it being open which makes it very hard to chase them also due to 90%of the map being dark.Clayton_Kelly wrote:Looks cool, but also looks difficult for Aliens to thrive in.

It's actually a bit outdated already, I've added a few new choice bits for the next Alpha test. Primarily: two new small outlier buildings (one near the crashed shuttle and one near the lake), a slight expansion to the [redacted] temple, a few new items scattered about, a few new monkey types wandering around, and large barbwire fences around much of the colony.
Glad everyone likes it! It'll definitely be tweaked and improved as we continue to balance it, particularly once the alpha build goes fully live and we can get some real data on map balancing. It certainly plays very different than the cramped station and requires some different tactics than what people are used to. We've already seen some really interesting strategies for the various tests, I really was impressed by the hive the xenos made in the locked-down Corporate building. Not so much at the one they made in the wide-open Telecomms station..

There is currently "dense" foliage, you can see the lighter shaded green areas in the jungle, which is supposed to represent thick trees, shrubs, etc. that are both opaque and impassable. Future plans are for it to be destroyable via machetes/knives/flamethrowers, but currently they are indestructable.
Also the sprites for them kind of blow, but we've been having a lot of trouble spriting up some more impressive ones. Perspective is hard in spessman game
Ninja edit: There's one thing I added last compile-- triangular corner wall pieces. The buildings look a lot less 'blocky' now at least.
