Tracker Class for Marines

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add a Trapper/Hunter to be played by only one marine or put under specialist class in the Alpha. The point of the Trapper would be to capture an alien or track one down.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Some equiment ideas:

Sniper Tracker Gun- Five Tracking Shots(The shots cause no damage and are tracked by the Tracker watch. An Alien can pull it out but they have to stand still for one minute).

Eight Tranquilizer Shots(One shot halves movement speed but makes them immune from the shot for two minutes after it wears off).

Animal Trap- The trapper sets it on the ground and whoever steps on it is stuck in place until that take it by spamming(It takes less time for each tier the alien goes up).

Motion Sensors

Net Gun- Three Nets short range(Works the same as the animal trap but is ranged however it does not work on tier 3 and up aliens).

Tracker Watch-Pulls up the map and highlights where motion sensors,animal traps and Tracking shots are.

Sentry- Player controlled with the same concept as an Pai. It stays online for five minutes before it needs a new power cell. It holds thirty bullets that do ten damage and fire at the same rate as the magnum only the tracker can reload it. It has very low health a few hits or bullets destroy it and it can be seen by aliens.

This could be a neato idea for the alpha, but instead of trapping, because we do not need aliens alive, just the hunting part, and defensive traps, this class could be a type of specialist, using his coin he could get a whole crate like on the smartgun, full of traps and darts, and also his sniper. +1!

I agree with muffin fully on this.

On another note yes to the trapper class.

Just gonna chuck this out here but maybe the engineer should have the barbed wire.

Engineer should get all the mines and that crap, and more charges, It's just stupid how the SL has like 10 explosives on smoke grenades, HE and charges, and the other classes too, Restrict charges to engineer pls.

Wooki, Apop promised that in the alpha flamethrowers will impregnate mobs and make them burn until resist spam and that, so standard will get good shit, also, with all of the remaining explosives that everyone can carry, the standards have secured some grenades.

I say -1 for this idea. It's a great concept, but in practice it will lead to too many foreseeable problems. Those weapons will not be used to capture xenos, they will be used to hit kill xenos.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Basically it would be nice for some diversity with the weapons instead of the generic assault rifle,shotgun,sniper etc

Gotta be prepared for everything, maybe he's a manhunter, maybe he just likes the toys and to fuck with people, etc... If you think about it for more than 3 seconds it make sense, oh, and BTW, WY already had planned this, from a canon POV, it's kind of obvious they'll want specialists that have the ability to control the monsters.

But how do they know there are monsters? In my opinion, if you let there be a trapper, you may as well bring in a foreign scientist who knows how to dissect aliums and make power armor out of them like in XCOM.

Change the name to tracker to hunt shit down. This remembers me of one of the classes from the Evolve game where one of the playable guys is specialized on tracking and hunting down the monster, as well with defense gadgets.

But the Sl motion tracker would be given to this new class, and in the alpha, does the SL get a tracker after all?

Yes, SL doesn't uses them most of the time even though, they're incredibly useful. No fucking clue. Sometimes, I just pass it to a marine and listen to beeps on Marine's hands.

No, Murder, I'm talking about the alpha, in the alpha there are no trackers spawned for the SL, so we might want this class added in to get the tracker and the other tracking things.

Yeah no.

Squad leads barely ever use motion detectors. The motion detectors fills up a entire hand and is not even that good at all. Most aliens hit and run which the small radius of the motion detector does not help follow.

The tracker would help end long drawn out rounds of a dingle or very few aliens constantly hiding. Also this adds more variation to specialist class besides shoot shoot explosion kill. With this class you can actually capture an alien much easier as alot of times orders are given to capture qnd have fun.

There are similarities with Evovle Trapper equipment but very few and there is nothing wrong with that. It is good to add different elements to a game as I know alot of players who would love to play this class.
