ERP Rule

Post by MrGabol100 » 02 Jul 2015, 09:25

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Change the ERP rule to something like "Server's stance on Sexual references/content", then apply the thing that jokes are fine and that...

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): It'd stop confussions about players being banned for "ERP" about things that are clearly not ERP, but sexual references, etc.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): ERP is an acronym for Erotic Role Play, that means that Woody got wood, Is not ERP, nor is posting heavy sexual content in IC chats or OOC, or saying heavy things over the radio like "I'll X your Y because your mom did Z to my A last U".
Just change the name to another thing that implie sexual references, postings, etc, I can't come with nothing right now.

This is not a rule change, ERP would still be banned under this rule, along with all the other "ERP rule" permabans, but it'd have a name that fits the thing that the rule enforces. It's a minor stupid thing that'd allow to stop player confussion at ban appeals / Ban notes.

I totally agree, we recently had a misunderstanding about this other day. Clarification would be most excellent.

No ERP - Erotic Roleplay is defined as roleplay that has a strong erotic element. It may involve two or more people or be done in front of spectators. This includes reading stories about ERP but not participating directly (WGW). Both consensual and nonconsensual ERP will be met with a PERMABAN. This is not to be confused with distasteful but acceptable "/me scratches his crotch" or "/me pinches [player]'s nipple." The latter can be dealt with in-game as Sexual Assault per Marine Law should players wish it.

Thoughts?

Still doesn't include sexual stories, just stories about ERP, Persons, roleplaying, sex, you could just tell a story about a pornstar, and still get away with it, but instead, reading a story about a porn star being a "Plumber" would get you banned, seriously, don't use the Word, ERP for this rule, or make another one about overall sexual content.

I personally also agree with this. Let's be honest here, a server full of marines cursing up a storm should be able to talk about BS sex stuff (aka, stuff like "go fuck your mom") as long as it doesn't lead into ERP.

Same thing. ERP is erotic roleplay. Erotic = sexual.

əˈrädik/
adjective
of, relating to, or tending to arouse sexual desire or excitement.
