Is Colonial Marines open-source?

Post by block1 » 05 Jul 2015, 23:08

I was wondering if Colonial Marines was open-source, I fell in love with the new map and would like to make additions to the map which I'd then suggest on the forums. Is the server open-source or is it closed? Thanks!

I believe if you ask Apop he will let you use the code.

The alpha is closed-source (at the moment) our old code, is open-source on request.

I was wondering that too. I saw that the github stopped being updated in June, along with the Alpha being removed completely and didn't know why. But (correct a me if I'm wrong) the alpha uses Baystation code that is licensed AGPL, so that makes you legally obligated to distribute the source if you're hosting it live, which you have. Either way, I'd like to request a copy of the old code and the alpha when that becomes available, sucks that you guys stopped using github right around the time that I got a chance to contribute. This is pretty much the only server I play on anymore.
