Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Basically replace the shitty green but non-effecting xeno blood with actual corrosive acid that can deal damage to people who think they can take on a xenomorph with a knife or shoot it in the face at point blank and be safe ..

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Balance against overzealous dumbasses, RP .. Better gameplay in general

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): basically asking for the same as above but i will describe how it will work; you try to stab a xenomorph with any effective/sharp melee weapon and there will be a very high chance (80% or something) that there will pour acid blood out instantly and about the same amount of chance that this blood will seriously damage you and your equipment (if human).

Same with point blank shooting, maybe even higher chance for making acid blood pour on you and kill you ... Like 90%

What do the Marines get in return? Let's keep in mind that the Aliens are already overpowered as hell thus far in the pending Alpha.

Also, they're supposed to be OP. Their health could always just be decreased, but that's a thing for AFTER the alpha is out.. The balancing and stuff. Which isn't far away anyways.

They're not supposed to be OP to the point where they're not fun to play against. Stun lock + 2 hit decaps is bad enough. Now Marines get melted when they try to fight back in CQC which they inevitably have to (and you just _know_ alien players are going to try and abuse the shit out of this by hugging whenever possible)?

Unless there's some kind of sealed environmental suit and acid proof coating that can be applied to gear, or the damage is pretty modest, I don't see how this wouldn't be a nightmare on top of everything else the aliens have.

I mean i can honestly live with the OP damage the aliens have currently as somehow marines seem to barely win or barely lose.

But i can see this as tipping the balance to the Too Op side

We could get this, along with A FULL MEDICAL ALIEN SYSTEM, Blood (This) Limb damage, exploding... etc...

If we just stick to the "Health bar" that the aliens have, contrary to a full medical system, this would be like, I dry all of my acid on you, go regen, i have more blood for you!

Again, the aliens being too OP and bla bla bla .. There are ways to counter that like i mentioned. Lower health, speed if need be. The point is, if a marine is dumb enough to get that close to an acid bleeding creature he should in all honesty die a horrible death. From what i hear, the weaponry in alpha should be enough to give the marines the initiative to operate on ranged distances. (and not charge in like plenty idiots have done before)

Yeah next time don't steal my thread and give no credit whatsoever. All you had to do was comment on it but....I see how it is Fel *sniff sniff*.

However yes marines should have repercussions from engaging in constant close range battle with aliens that leak acid. On my thread I had an idea that marines could either find or Scientists could research and make metal that could reinforce marine equipment and make it immune to the acid.

The Aliens would need a nerf to go with this maybe each time they lose large amounts of blood it nerfs their stats?

also, yes. obviously if an alien bleeds lots of acid it will be when it's getting killed and if it's lost so much 'content' i imagine it being much weaker maybe ... POSSIBLY

Okay, let's get one thing clear; when you're saying that the Marines should be punished for 'engaging in constant close range battle' you do realize that this is pretty much impossible to avoid outside of a defensive emplacement right? Aliens will also actively try to exploit their acid blood so this becomes even more true. Let's not forget either that there are aliens with charges that can close the distance to melee and knock your ass down before you can so much as fire your weapon.

Honestly, if the acid blood does shit tons of damage _and_ melts gear, I can easily see aliens routinely going kamikazi right into a group of marines so they can melt all their gear and incapacitate a bunch of them and it will be _worth it_. Even if the Marines manage to spread out such that they don't get collectively acid splooged on, it'll break up their firing lines and leave them extremely vulnerable to flanks and other attacks; it is a total lose lose. It needs to _not_ melt gear and do light to middling damage, or the marines need some kind of effective hard counter, otherwise this feature will be total bullshit.

QI think the blood itself (like the green blood that sprays when you knife them or when they die) should be acidic, meaning just the floor tiles or tiles alien corpses are on would cause burn damage. Rather than coding in a whole new damage effect for melee, we'd have a visual on what is or isn't dangerous melee would still be feasible for marines, and aliens would have a slight lore-friendly advantage. This blood could be removed by removing the floor tile with a crowbar.

I like this implementation the most. I assume the acid blood would dry out/become inert after awhile, like regular blood does?

It oxidizes after a time which neutralizes it. Aliens do need acid blood. It can be low chance rather than high chance. Acid only affected the Marines a few times in the movie.

This basically should not see the light of day unless marines get some kind of buff/counter, or the alien get some kind of nerf, OR it's implemented in a weaker form per Fickmacher's suggestion which I really like. Again, melee with aliens is impossible to avoid outside of a defensive emplacement, and it takes many point blank shots to put one down outside of a shotgun.
