Additional Rule: Aliens Sticking Gear in Lockers
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add an additional rule concerning aliens shoving gear in lockers.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Help immersion.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): I'm fine with the current alien stripping parameters, but aliens dragging lockers and shoving marine gear after stripping seems meta. They can't drag for cover, but they will pull a locker and stick a bunch of recently stripped gear in there? We all know that an alien would just melt it, not provide a maid service. It also wouldn't be hard to enforce, because all we have to do is look at a locker and check variables.

Re: Additional Rule: Aliens Sticking Gear in Lockers
To be honest i have seen this on many occasion and it's basically just a quick easy way of gathering all of the captured marine gear and then melting it.. ( Basically being lazy instead of using Ctrl click to drag items out )
Now i personally have no problem with it but i can also see where it causes problems so. eh...
Also wouldn't it be alot easier to instead add it so aliens just can't pull lockers ( To you know save staff from having to look out for even more things ), it will still allow them to you know pull all your gear then place it in a locker.. but that said locker they wouldn't be able to pull, just open and close the door to it.

+1 with the only exception being if your cleaning up a bunch of garbage like shards and airlock electronics. Since those just clutter up the game and end up contributing to lag.
I mean thats what I've done in the past as a xeno. Mainly because Xenobio has those window doors that drop shards, airlock electronics and wires and if you break all of them its a bunch of stuff that I just get a locker and shove them all in there because its a waste of plasma melting them. But Marine gear is a big no no.

So the Alien Queen can operate shuttle computers but can't realize that a closet can be used for transportation, much like they use their stomachs to transport hosts?
Yeah, makes all sense.
Yeah, makes all sense.

If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

Re: Additional Rule: Aliens Sticking Gear in Lockers
The Queen only does that because we can't figure out another way to get aliens onto the Sulaco. It's mechanics, not lore. Imagine the alien movies. Could you honestly picture a Xenomorph passing a locker, deciding to grab it and drag it across the ground, then grabbing a bunch of marine bullshit and cleaning it up like fucking Mrs. Doubtfire? No, they would acid it, or kick it away. The locker thing doesn't make sense as anything other than something for lazy alien players to do.Juninho77 wrote:So the Alien Queen can operate shuttle computers but can't realize that a closet can be used for transportation, much like they use their stomachs to transport hosts?

Re: Additional Rule: Aliens Sticking Gear in Lockers
And the closets are a problem of game mechanics too. Having to pull every single marine item out of the hive one at a time is punishing the aliens for no good reason. They would kick the marine gear out, or swallow them and then and regurgitate the gear somewhere else.
And if you want to pull the "xenomorphs are pathetically inept" card, then you should be advocating for xenomorphs being completely unable to strip marines in the first place. If they can't even muster enough dexterity to pick a box up, I can hardly see them removing a marine's armor whilst said marine is literally glued to a resin nest.
The more I have discussions that involve lore, the more I see that "lore" is a term that is invoked when it's convenient and tossed aside when it's not.

Re: Additional Rule: Aliens Sticking Gear in Lockers
It's not dexterity, it's just something they wouldn't do. Pulling it one at a time is "too tedious"? The whole point of a Sentinel is too deal with this kind of shit. They should be guarding nested hosts, aciding weapons, and dragging things away. We have a whole alien caste for this, so there should be no need to use lockers.
It's not punishment, it's making Sentinels do their damn jobs.

@Fick:
That was the most unrobust thing I've ever heard in my life, Fick. Don't be silly.
Sentinels are too good to be wasted watching hosts. They're fast and tough, they can ventcrawl, and they have a ranged attack. As a sentinel, it's a viable tactic to spit, facehug the weakened marine marine, and drag the marine away. Sentinels about as fast as a human, faster if they're on weeds, so they will outrun chasing marines. They can literally snatch a marine from a larger group, and their large health pool makes that a relatively safe tactic for them.
As for taking care of the nest, the Queen has a screech and a 90% tackle chance. She can take care of the hive while she lays eggs and makes jelly.

+1 to EATTING GUNS
it just saves acid and plasma tbh, that's why we use them. Why melt 50+ items when we can just melt a locker and be done with it

LMFAO -1 "Eating guns" would cause a major problem where aliens just quickly fucking eat a damned bunch of rifles instead of aciding them, instantly make them non existant for the battling marine/ Nested escapist, If it has acid it still can be used for a while, but if the fucker just ate it, Nope.
Imagine this: You are at your FOB, the aliens attack, you are holding them off, they spit, rush and fucking eat your guns, you retreat into the lower levels of the FOB to get more supplies and Boom! The aliens ate all the damned guns in like 15 seconds, they are all gone.

And that's why you'd add a delay between starting the action and actually devouring the item...

Re: Additional Rule: Aliens Sticking Gear in Lockers
obviously you would have a cooldown on it also, so they couldnt just spam it like a delete button. but its a practical solution to the problem of aliens using lockers to move marine gear, the argument that it saves plasma and acid is precisely why it shouldnt be done.
I suggested devouring the guns meaning to add it as a skill similar to acid, but it would require a kind of inventory system where aliens can only hold so much gear and that gear is on a timer to be destroyed...

Also using this to circumvent/minimize plasma drain is abusive.

ACCEPTED and added.
Gathering items in a locker and melting the locker, creates lagspikes MUCH greater, than melting individual items.
