Marines that curse you, criticize, and can never simply just carry out an order over multiple rounds

Post by Clayton_Kelly » 11 Jul 2015, 23:56

Anything that can be done about them? There is one individual in particular I've had lead over and for many rounds and it is the same thing over and over.

I doesn't fall in insubordination in game because most of the time I can't be sure where they are and if they are actually following orders. And there isn't anything in the rules about such a thing.

Sadly, you are aboard the NMV Sulaco.
And marines are built to act this way, it's how they are natured.
I for one personally understand how you feel, people can be very very rude at times.
However, that IS their character and honestly it's REALISTIC in the sense that that's how a Colonial Marine would act.
Do what I do.
Be mature, polite, and professional.
Ignore them as best as you can. The people behind these screens aren't nearly as hardy as they are ingame. (I'd sure hope so!)

@Thecubscout:
It's REALISTIC to see a marine curse and ignore a superior? Really?

If you would permaban a player, you owe it to him to look into his logs and hear his side of the story. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the player does not deserve to be banned.

I think you got me off on the wrong foot.
Of course it isn't REALISTIC in the sense of reality for this to happen.
I was just saying that it "fits character" for them to do so.
Hmmm.. it may be hard to express what I mean but note I'm not supporting the marines doing these actions of course.
I believe my point is that (from what I've seen) marines don't care, thus, swearing and disobeying order is a common but cameo thing for them.

You have no idea.

If you think a marine is being disrespectful or not following your orders, have him brigged. That's literally the job of the MP.

However, if you comdom too hard, expect a lynching.

You forgot your italics, rewrite the text inmediately.

To be quite frank, do what I do when Im squad lead... Which is if they're not listening and go bonker off, then ignore them. Ignore their screams for help too considering they decided not to stick with the squad. Once you tell them before briefing that you will not save any of them if they leave the group or disobey orders and chase after something, they'll usually somewhat start listening. But there's no point in wasting manpower to save someone who hasn't been listening and has aided the enemy to get to this situation (because they weren't here dealing with the threat like the rest of the group).

I tried doing that before. The MP flatly said "no" to my face. When I arrested the MP, they started a mutiny and I ended up dead.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks Apop.

Any word on this Apop? Without the MPs, we can't enforce anything.
