CM Version (alpha or Regular):Both.
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):Add following as RP rule: civilian personnel on Sulaco, after alien invaded, can use only pistols and SMG.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):More RP-accurratly.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):It's just very strange to see Sulaco Doctor with M4A1 or janitor with two L6. Command stuff, marines and MPs can use every kind of weapon since they have full military training. But Sulaco Medics, Janitors and Researches have only basic training, so they can shoot from pistols and SMGs, cause it's light and not so difficult weapon to use. Maybe even LOs should be included to this rule.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):Just add this as RP-rule.

Neutral on this
This would be preety hard sometimes to enforce and to be honest, Those civs are sort of screwed, smg and pistols don't really do much against aliens TBH

Re: Gun RP-rule for civillian personnel
The dev's could also code this so if you have a civilian ID for a job when you try and fire the weapon it just won't work ( I also realize that if the code is implemented people will most likely take off their ID's if it's civilian and then go around shooting aliens with said weapon they couldn't pick up earlier with their Id on, but it could also mean the admins/mods could intervene then...)
On another note it makes sense as a rule... but... i have a feeling it may be overlooked in some circumstances or just adding to much pressure on the staff team.
That's my opinion on this anyway.
Kind Regards, Penguin.

+2
While they can have some kind of trining, It's not expected to be like this:
It's ok to use pistols or SMGs

Basic wrapons handling is taught in basic training prior to occupational training. All military staff will have it even in non-combat roles. Not to mention the fact that an assault rifle is in no way more complicated to use than an smg.

-1. Bad rule in terms of gameplay and RP; what Roswell said.

Re: Gun RP-rule for civillian personnel
I'm pretty sure this rule already includes that of civilian personnel:

Re: Gun RP-rule for civillian personnel
No it doesn't..... the second line of that rule is what this suggestion wants to be extended i.e during Sulaco being invaded they still have to stick with said Smg and pistol or.. just a pistol. 9 Something along the lines of that.1138 wrote:I'm pretty sure this rule already includes that of civilian personnel:
