Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
Byond ID: YummyToast
Marine Name (so we know who you are): Elizabeth Reed, this is the name I use most but I change very often.
Name of the character you want whitelisted (As in, the name your predator will use): Vi'Rek Za'Thur
Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=2693)?: Yes I am
Character background (an RP description as to why this character would be in this position, such as clan information. This will weigh HEAVILY on the decision, so make the information count):
Vi'Rek Za'Thur, a well known Yautja for his tactical approach to typical hunting. His abilities to scout have earned him the title as 'Seeker' to some.
Vi was brought into this world within a much newer clan, the Zirai clan, being born in only the second generation since its formation. This very fact led to high expectations of him that pushed him to the limits to become what his clan needed. A true warrior. Vi's father was a great warrior, his tactics revolving around locating prey and defeating them through sheer strength. As Vi grew and his father began to pass his own knowledge to his son, the father recognized something that he could only explain as cowardice actions. Vi always seemed hesitant to enter a fight, to his father this was of great dishonor and lead to many harsh punishments of his son to 'Toughen him up'. Vi however, saw his actions from a different perspective. He had preferred to watch and study his enemies first, learning their actions and exploiting their weaknesses. His father however would not accept it, essentially shaming Vi and prioritizing his younger brother's training instead.
It is through this that Vi had to learn much on his own, instead learning from watching his father's teachings to his brother. Through this his father had unknowingly encouraged his son's behavior. After much time Vi fell under the other teachers of his clan, getting him through the training provided until it was time for him to begin his first Kiande Amedha. To the surprise of his teachers he managed to excel at the ritual, surpassing all of his fellow New-Bloods in performance. He accomplished this by watching how the Hard-Meat beings behaved, studying their patterns in activity and essentially luring them to expose their weaknesses to him. This was the first, yet not last, time that his skill would be recognized by his kin. One of his most recognizable activities took place during a hunt on a human colonized planet. The hunt began similar to any other until word got to Vi that one of his kin had failed to destroy his technology after being defeated by a human in combat. Being noted for his incredible scouting abilities, Vi was sent to destroy the lost technology. It was through his keen eye and observations of human behavior that he managed to track down and destroy to technology, earning him the gratitude of his clan through his actions. Upon returning to his homeworld Vi's father finally gave his son the recognition he deserved, finally accepting him fully as they worked together to learn from each other for future hunts.
Now Vi spends his time engaging in new hunts, hoping to further gain recognition for his clan. His unique hunting behavior has made him very notable, and this is quite precisely what he seeks.
Why should we whitelist you?:
I hope to bring a different side of roleplay to the Yautja whitelist that will inspire a different variation of interaction between humans and Yautja that doesn't consist of just combat. This being achieved through role-play by actions such as 'Toying' with prey and 'Learning' from their actions. Overall I consider myself a quite experienced role-player where I began back on forum rp and slowly moved to Clockwork on GarrysMod. Overall I am quite pleased to see a (faction?) that will be rich with roleplayers so that I have the opportunity to enjoy the vast amount of roleplay this server has to offer. My general activities will consist of stalking humans as long as possible without being sighted, allowing me to learn how they behave and therefore use that information to my advantage in the hunt.
On another note I would like to point out that I am quite new to Predator lore. I had never realized just how deep it was and therefore I hope to gain a much better grasp of it as time passed (Though I can say I studied up quite a bit before making this app.)
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?: Yes I understand completely.
ON ANOTHER NOTE: I just donated like a minute or so ago. So I'm not sure how long your automated system takes to process it but yeah.

I intend to post an introduction among other suggestions I have in mind. But yes, I just wanted to get this out there for the sake of being here. Also busy playing the server itself.

Re: Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
As far as I am aware only the donator request system is closed, as in requesting your donor items (literally that is the only section closed). The donor page itself is fully functional and I sent my money so...? Does this mean that my application is denied?

Re: Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
Okay I just saw the new post that clarifies everything involving donators is closed and not just the redeem system. Unless you decide otherwise I guess for now I will cancel the payment and consider the application in stasis or something like that.

Re: Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
Okay, having gotten home and having service so I can properly read everything I realize that I was confused. I'm just going to leave the payment until it is able to be processed. For now is it okay if I leave this sitting here until you guys are ready? Thanks!

Re: Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
For now given the fact of the donor issue and that you seem rather new to the forums I am going to have to decline. The application is not to bad but I would rather you got to know some of the player-base a bit more and maybe learn how things work before moving on to something like this. Its a very powerful position after all, Maybe in a few weeks you can try again when everyone can apply

Alright, thanks a ton for reading through it at the least. I'll make sure to prepare myself over the next few weeks to take another stab at it. Thanks again!

Yes now I believe it can be properly reviewed and such. And lucky timing, just now getting back home so I can get really active again as I usually am!

Re: Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
I imagine recognition is very hard to obtain on a larger scale in Yautja society unless you do something REALLY noteworthy. By him being well known, i assume it is more within his own clan. Is my assumption accurate?
It'd be nice if you could give him more traits, beyond the main quality of scout/tracker. (i.e. what kind of weapons would a hunter like that use?) i feel like you could put a lot more interesting stuff or details into here. You are also very new though, so i'm sceptical.

Re: Vi'Rek Za'Thur Hunter Application
Yes, I guess I should have clarified more on where his reputation spread to but it was meant to be within his own clan and the few clans they were in contact with. Seeing as even Yautja that have done things even far more noteworthy would struggle to be 'well known' to their entire race. As for the weapons half of it when I made the app I wasn't even entirely sure how many of the Predator weapons we had in-game so I avoided the topic entirely. Seeing as when I made the app I seemed to be in the minority of people applying who hadn't gotten a chance to play a Yautja yet.Felkvir wrote:I imagine recognition is very hard to obtain on a larger scale in Yautja society unless you do something REALLY noteworthy.
